  1. Don't think he's saved a penalty in his professional career. Not since he became the NT's starting Goalkeeper back around 2012 at least not that I can remember. (he may have saved 1) Some keepers have a very good record when it comes to penalty's, most are average. He has a poor record.
  2. Biseswar to come on for Jaba or Limnios IMO. Need to score and we are having trouble holding the ball in our half (the few times we've gotten out of our defensive half) after the first 10 mins or so. Biseswar can hold up the ball and win a few fouls and get us up the pitch.
  3. Benfica have settled into the game now and are looking very dangerous. Need to hold on till HT EDIT: Jesus this Pizzi guy has just had 3 chances back to back to back all clear scoring chances, we are lucky he hasn't buried one
  4. Still no sign of who Lucescu is leaning towards starting instead of El Kaddouri. I have a feeling it'll be Warda, Razvan seems to rate him. So important for us to grab a goal, obviously coming away with a draw (1-1, 2-2) or of course a win would be HUGE. But absolutely must get a goal IMO, a 2-1 loss isn't the worst result in the world. A 1-0 loss is very dangerous. Either way I think we'll push them, we have a very good team this season plenty of experience and talent. Very proud of what we've achieved so far, now we get a free hit a perennial Champions league group stage team. Let's do it
  5. Well after all that, Karnezis ends up starting Napoli's season opener in a 1-2 away win against Lazio. Good result in a tricky first up match. Not at fault for the goal, awful defending, Immobile with one turn beat all 3 defenders and scored with a lovely finish. Highlights
  6. Another full 90 for him in the 3-2 away loss to Chelsea. Reading some match reports and player ratings, he seems to have been their best defender last night. Scoring 6's and 6.5's for the most part. In a team that conceded 3 that's not bad. Rumblings about his lack of pace continues but he seems to be slowly winning over some fans. Arsenal should've won the game based on chances, missed some real sitters, especially in the first half.
  7. I wouldn't be shocked if it was Mauricio given the rumours that have been swirling around and given we now have plenty of depth in that position. That being said it would still be the wrong move IMO, if we want a serious run in Europe and to compete for the league again he is exactly the type of player we need to hold onto.
  8. Correct and Dinamo Zagreb are assured of at least a Europa League group stage spot given they are in the play-off round of the Champions league. So for us to have our league champion go directly into the group stage, we need to be ranked in the top 10?
  9. Interesting to see what they do with him now. Hang on to him as the no.3? Or loan him out. Meret will be out for a while so perhaps they hang onto him to be a back up to Ospina and once Meret is fit again he'll spend most of his time in stands. Until January at least.
  10. El Kaddouri out is a blessing in disguise IMO, considering we'll be countering a lot more over these 2 legs, Warda or Jaba will be much more useful
  11. The Wernbloom signing must mean the end for Charisi for this season. Canas and Shakhov will become our depth options and I'm assuming Xarisis will be loaned out again. We still have Moulin as well, but he doesn't seem to be in Lucescu's plans at all. Unless one of them is content to be 5th choice and spend most of this season on the sidelines.
  12. SEKOU OLISEH!! Loved that little man, had some pace and a smile that would light up the room
  13. Wernbloom into the starting XI vs Benfica instead of the sloppy Canas? Or too much of a short turn around? I've always liked Canas, but he just gives the ball away too much and at the higher level (Europe) teams will make us pay. So assuming Wernbloom is finally done, Canas will become a depth option which is probably what he should be.
  14. That's it, we're through Not a fan of how Lucescu chose to see that out, especially considering we had a man more for over an hour. No harm done in the end though, fortunately and the dream lives on!!
  15. He didn't look to be injured either, I could be wrong though.
  16. Warda for El Kaddouri for me. Get one of the players with a yellow off and as the game opens up Warda will become more and more dangerous. Matos needs to be careful, the ref is looking for an excuse to even up the numbers so hands to himself and nothing silly or unnecessary
  17. huge chance prijo, free header from 6 yards goes over should have been 1-0
  18. No need to get involved in this and give the ref a reason to even up the numbers, foul is for us, cool heads boys they are the ones who are losing it
  19. Good first 20 mins have defended well. Vieirinha has looked sharp and Mauricio has also looked good. Need to create a little more on the counter ideally but so far so good
  20. For those of us in Australia, just saw a promo 3 times on Antenna that they will be showing the 2nd leg live at 3.30am. Also checked the TV guide and it says the same thing. Can anyone confirm this? Wouldn't be the first time Antenna wrongly advertised they were showing a game. @Blackhawk you're the only one I trust when it comes to the televising of games, even if you are half way around the world
  21. He was an unused sub in Marseille's seasoner opener, a 4-0 win against Toulouse. At the same time, he's now being linked to Galatasaray https://www.contra.gr/Soccer/France/Ligue1/marseille/trwei-ton-gkomis-o-mhtrogloy-me-8-000-000-eyrw.5285179.html
  22. I think this will be the line up too, except I have my doubts if Lucescu will drop El Kaddouri given he's been solid the past 2 games and we've won both games. I agree Warda (or Jaba) need to start in Moscow, guys who are direct and will run at the defenders and cause issues for them on the counter. El Kaddouri is a different sort of player, as we know.
  23. Starting today in Arsenal's season opener at home against Man city. Tough assignment first up, we'll see how he goes but wouldn't be surprised to see Arsenal lose by 2-3 goals
