  1. As for TV coverage at least in the US, with Sport+ and Antenna Sat you have sure access to 99% of the SL games. The only games not available right now are PAOK's home games, but I am sure with Berbatov on the team those games will be picked up soon by one of those channels.
  2. The final count for this season: 9,103
  3. vs MATCHUP: Qabala FK - P.A.O.K. Thessaloniki COMPETITION: Europa League ? Group Stage - Round 1 DATE: 17-September-2015 TIME: 20:00 GR (17:00 GMT, 12:00 CDT, 03:00 AEST next day) CITY/STADIUM: Baku ? Bakcell Arena (15,000) REFEREES: TELEVISION: OTE Sport TV (Greece), Fox Soccer 2GO (USA), beIN Sports Connect (Australia) The PAOK Europa League group stage campaign starts in Azerbaijan against Qabala FK, the team that eliminated Panathinaikos. If we want to have a good showing in this group we need to win both games against this team, starting on Thursday in Baku. This will be our first ever game against a team from Azerbaijan in European competition.
  4. Nice stories by everyone. Here is mine. The first time I went to Toumba was in 1984 during my first ever visit to Greece. I have been a fan of the team since mid-70's, and of course all my family (cousins) in Thessaloniki were PAOK fans, so it was a no brainer that a visit to Toumba was a must. Thankfully in those days the big teams in Greece still played pre-season friendlies unlike today. My first game at Toumba was a pre-season friendly between PAOK and AEK. Even though it was in the middle of the vacation season (August) in Greece, Toumba was quite full. It was a great experience. Since then I went to Toumba on many occasions. Since I visited Greece mostly during summer, most of the games were pre-season friendlies. Also saw a pre-season friendly against Aris at Charilaou Stadium among others. The only competitive games I managed to see at Toumba was the one time I went to Greece during winter. It was against Panionios in December 1990. The other competitive game I attended was the infamous CL qualifying game between PAOK and Maccabi in 2004
  5. Katsikas suffered serious injury during practice and will be out for 9 months. He is injury prone. During his stay with PAOK he was injured most of the time. let's not forget that he also suffered ligament injury while at Iraklis before coming to PAOK. I would think his competitive career is pretty much over.
  6. Berbatov is in the squad for the game, so we might see him tomorrow. Most likely as a sub in order to get ready for the Qabala game next Thursday. Lef of the squad were Malezas (once again), Charisis, Korovesis, Savvidis and the injured/suspended Cimirot, Antonis, Jairo. Apparently Tudor is also thinking of starting Golasa tomorrow.

  8. I really enjoyed meeting you and your parents. The food was great too. Thank you for your hospitality.
  9. I think we are done trading this summer transfer period. Any additions to the roster will have to wait until January 2016.
  10. Unless EPO is cleaned up from the top to the bottom and drastic changes are made in the structure of the national teams, we will unfortunately have to accept the fact that we will have a pre-Euro 2004 mediocre team. And once in for all make the national team the team for all Greeks. Not a team run by and for managers and agents.
  11. Same as last year. Unfortunately.
  12. Agreed. I always found it funny that every team in Superleague had the same sponsor on the front of their jersey.
  13. Apparently we are very close to signing a jersey sponsorship with SportingBet.
  14. Hello Ivo and welcome to our forum. What part of Bulgaria are you from? I had the pleasure of visiting your country in my youth way back in 1973. I have also been a fan of Berbatov since his days at ManU. I think he is a great player. Of course he is at the end of his career, but for PAOK this is the biggest transfer in the team's history. Even if he does not perform up to his old standards, just the marketing value will be enormous.
  15. Speaking of Aris. It's official Aris will play one more season (at least) in the amateur division (3rd Division). They tried all kinds of legal maneuvers to move up to Football League after failing to qualify on the field. Today was their latest and final appeal and it was again turned down. Tomorrow is the draw for the Football League and it will be without Aris.
  16. Tommorow's draw is only for the Football League teams.
  17. Yesterday they told the reporters that Arnesen left Thessaloniki for Austria in order to fulfill his duties as a commentator for the Danish NT TV broadcast. Instead he was in England putting the finishing touches on the Berbatov deal. At least that's what I heard on radio this morning. Also it is reported that we somehow managed to change the list of players for the Europa League, which now includes Berbatov as well. That is great news in itself.
  18. I would venture to say that his signing is one of the biggest ones in Greek soccer history. It's definitively up there with Rivaldo, etc.
  19. I added Berbatov to the list and changed my vote accordingly.
  20. He is on the team as is the kid Siabanis. All 4 keepers were also included in the EL list of players.
  21. Signed for 1 year for 2 million Euro.
  22. Now that the transfer period is over, lets see what PAOK's did. We got rid of a lot of dead wood and expensive contracts. I think that was the number one goals set by Savvidis when he signed Arnesen. We made around 10 acquisitions, mostly young players that have a possibility to become good players. As far as I am concerned if only half of those players develop into solid players and starters, than I think this transfer period will be a great success. The only thing that worries me is the fact that we did not bolster our defense, and that we left Klaus as the only experienced true forward on the team. However that is something that can be fixed in January 2016 if needed. Since the one big goal for this season has already been achieved (GS of EL and the UEFA money), Arnesen will probably move slowly building the team for the future.
  23. About the same.
  24. As far as I can remember it was some PAOK reporter that claimed Savvidis will give Arnesen 20 mil for transfer, which basically means that it could be a made up figure to sell papers and get clicks on their web site.
  25. PAE PAOK made it official with an announcement. Koulouris on loan to Anorthosis Pougogoura on loan to Veroia Pereyra on loan to Gabala for one year after extending his current contract for one more year.
