  1. I don't think he's at all big headed, he actually seems like a very nice and humble young man. In the world of international sport this can backfire sometimes as he lacks that competitive edge.Anyway, new rumour out today. He's been linked with Glasgow Rangers. Good team, s%$#! league. He'd be better off going to Greece imo if it came to that. Espanyol is the best move on the cards for him.
  2. That's exactly right. As for his comparison with Haristea... let's hope Samaras goes and scores the goals to win us euro 2008 kai as paei na paixei gia ton Ioniko, I'll still love him! :P
  3. That's right, the rumour is according to News of the World and the BBC that Man City will buy Wagner Love and sell Samaras to Espanyol.
  4. Larissa have signed Fenerbahce and Turkish interntational Tumer Metin on loan til the end of the season.
  5. City play an unusual 4-3-3 system, it's kind of like a 4-2-3-1. 2 holding midfielders and 3 attacking midifielders, Petrov on the left, Vassel on the right and Elano in the middle. Bianchi was up front alone, now he's gone they'll probably play a Mpenza. Samaras must at least get on the bench now. Personally I think he has to go.
  6. Guys, as much as I don't rate Samaras as a player, it's unfair to question him as a person (or his motives). Birmingham have just signed McFadden for
  7. Don't forget we have Bravo and Domi... Pantos is great for a 3rd choice left back. Imo, it's a centre back that we need. Kyriakos would be perfect.
  8. http://www.sportime.gr/football_inside.asp...rticle_id=69632 Sportime is reporting that Man City and Birmingham have reached an agreement over Samaras and all that remains now is for Giorgo to agree contractual terms with Birmingham.
  9. He wouldn't be glued to the bench. Essien is the only top class holding midfielder they have (Makalelle is aging). Katsouranis is also versatile and can play at centre back too. He would get games. Personally I want to see him at A.Madrid.
  10. That's because of injury. Let Konstantinou get fit and he'll be great for us again.
  11. Apparently it was the last straw because Katsouranis and Camacho don't get on either. This is an unsavoury incident and a shame, I've always liked Benfica alot. Having said that, Katsouranis has a great reputation for being a great professional so maybe this incident with Lusiao is a case of Camacho (and his captain Luisao) being difficult off the pitch and this is the culmination of it all. Overall though I think maybe Katsouranis was getting too comfortable at Benfica and this might be a good move for him to get that fire in his belly back before Euro 2008.
  12. i think it's a battle that gekas can only win if he scores 1 goal per match. as long as kiessling is on that side, kiessling can do no wrong for the next 3-4 years. he's the young german attacking talent, and gekas is the 'guest-striker'.i honestly believe that most european clubs-coaches-managers, have very low opinions of greek footballers, despite the 2004 success. the recycled megson never plays stelios - when he does, stelios scores and stelios still can't get 90 minutes for a stretch of 6-7 matches. this year, tuncay is having the same type of season that stelios had 2 years ago, and now england thinks that tuncay is the tip of the iceberg of 'undiscovered' turkish talent. I agree 100%! The only way we can shake off that stigma is if we go on another great run in these Euros! :gr:
  13. That would be a GREAT move for Samaras, because apart from Forsell they don't really have a good striker so as long as he's playing well he should be getting games! GO SAMARA, GO!!!!!!!
  14. Gekas' agent is spot on! Gekas should put in a transfer request and we'll see what the powers that be at Leverkusen say then!
  15. Almiron is probably staying at Juve http://sports.phantis.com/soccer/news/read...=20080101133911
  16. Looks like Samaras may be on his way then. As for Katsouranis, he's a different sort of holding midfielder than Maniche. Cambiasso and Viera are too good for either Maniche or Kats though.
  17. i can't stand brandao...left-sided moron. wild hair, wears leg-warmers after october 1 and likes to throw elbows...a dirty player. he's very tall and thin, his hair weighs more than his body weight. He's strong though. Kind of like a poor man's Drogba. I like him alot... sort of looks like him too! :D
  18. In a post-match interview regarding various issues both Lemonis and the reporter spoke about Belluschi as if the transfer was sealed! So we can safely assume he's an Olympiakos player. :gr: http://www.contra.gr/Soccer/Hellas/Superle...cos/181493.html
  19. The Times online have compiled a list of the 50 worst ever Premiership transfers... Samaras came in as the 45th worst ever transfer. I've not been happy with his performances either, but that's just ridiculous! I hope he moves and conquers the world! After all, Kovacevic's move to Sheff Wed came in as 10th worst ever and look at what he went on to acheive. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle2096584.ece
  20. Samaras has once again failed to even make the bench for tonight's game with Blackburn. He HAS to go in January! PAO should sign him on loan!
  21. File mou, generally I agree with you 100%, but with Belluschi i think it's a bit different. According to reports, he's already started taking Greek lessons and that isn't the sign of someone who only wants to be here for a short time (like Yaya Toure for example)... I'll be honest, I haven't really seen this kid play. I've seen highlights but nothing that would enable me to judge how good he is. I know he has a cannon of a shot and can use both feet, but not much else so i can't say whether he's worth the money or not. So generally I'd agree with you about the xenomania of Greek clubs and fans but maybe this isn't the case wth Belluschi. I'm on the brink of changing my mind after i came across this video showing, who appears to be Belluschi, smoking! All that money for a player that smokes? Florent Malouda criticised Chelsea for allowing their players to drink coke, while Wenger has banned his players from eating anything that isn't "healthy", imagine what they'd say if they saw this!

  23. Latest news from Italy is that Fiorentina REALLY want him and will be accelerating their bid to land him.
