  1. To be fair, he's been poor whenever I've seen him. He should try and go back to Greece.
  2. Fenerbahce manager, Zico, has expressed his wish to sign Inter's unsettled striker Hernan Crespo. What a great signing that would be for the Turks. How about Crespo to Olympiakos to replace an aging Kovacevic next year? We have loads of Argentinians here to make him feel welcome and he is great aerially which is something we'll be lacking next year (Lua Lua and Nunez are both small forwards). What do you guys think?
  3. Yes I have been to Serbia, and I actually found them to be a lot more polite than the Athenians (not that that's hard). Whether or not they gave you or me or Mr. T a warm reception is irrelevant. This is not a political discussion but one regarding the possibility of playing in Serbia, and the fact is no Greek national team would have a problem playing in Serbia. It is ridiculous to suggest that. - ummm, recently during a demonstration a serb was killed in a fire. what if the greek contigent was 2-3 blocks away in a hotel? what about the stoning of the greek embassy a few years ago in belgrade?i would never put greeks in harm's way to perpetuate a myth. remember - arabs are our friends, correct? us greeks support the plo and palestinians...we even named a street in athens after yassir arafat. explain that to the families of some 28 greeks massacred by machine gun fire in egpyt in the late 1990's. ahhhh...the wise man in the back of the kafeneio would reply that it was the israelis, disguised as arabs. ahhhhh..yes, let's go play a friendly in the gaza strip now. it's hard at times...at other times, many greeks deserve the drudgery of village life because the modern world just flies over their heads. to say, 'trust me, i know the serbs are our brothers' is ridiculous when weighing the safety of any greek. That is a ridiculous analogy! The guy that died was a protestor that got caught up in a fire he played a part in starting himself. It was aimed at the US embassy for recognising Kosovo. Greece has not recognised Kosovo and has no beef with the Serbs, politically, socially or otherwise. We played in Turkey and Kazakhstan but we can't play in Serbia for safety reasons? That's ridiculous! As for the Egypt/Palestinian/Isreali issue... where on earth did that come from? We're talking about the possibility of playing a match in Serbia here. It's actually crazy to be suggesting that we couldn't do that. We rarely agree on football matters, and we sometimes disagree on politics, but I always respect your opinions. You articulate them very well and always apply a lucid logic. But the claim that Greece cannot play in Serbia for safety reasons bears no logic whatsoever and I can only put it down to your extreme dislike/hatred of the Serbs.

  5. Katsouranis' run in the UEFA Cup came to an end as Getafe beat Benfica 1-0 to win 3-1 on agg.
  6. now...don't get me started on this subject. i bet the locals baked lots of koulouria for the serb players. serbia seems to be in much turmoil now, the other day a black footballer was beaten by 4 hooligans after a match. What does that have to do with anything??
  7. FANIS GEKAS OE OE OE!! FANIS GEKAS OE OE OE!! HE'S ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leverkusen were leading Hamburg 1-0 from the first leg of the UEFA Cup (Gekas scored then). Tonight Leverkusen took the lead through Barbarez, Hamburg equalised, and Gekas pounced againt to end Hamburg's dreams! FANIS GEKAS OE OE OE!!!!!!!!
  8. We won't, I guarantee you that!
  9. Somebody give this dude a present because it's the perfect post. I'll refrain from commenting further on the topic because I'm so livid about it I'll only end up filling the board with profanities. Last 16 of the CL (i.e. as far as Real Madrid, Milan, Inter, & Sevilla), and 1 point behind PAO in the hunt for the title and he gets sacked... KOKKALI  P.S. I pray PAO win the league!
  10. hey - can you give me a progress report on the citizens and vassell? i heard a rumor that they've gone some 300 goal-less minutes (s-v-g cell phone plan?) and have now fallen behind villa and blackburn. The reason that they're not getting goals is because Bianchi left them and Benjani has just arrived and yet to settle. It's not because Samaras left. ah, ok....thanx I take it you disagree then? It's Samaras' blistering goal ratio that they miss?

  12. WOW! World class finish! Oozed flamboyance and beauty! A couple of those at Euro 2008 please Mr Gekas! :gr:
  13. Samaras hasn't played in the Greek league. To be fair, what's he said that's so arrogant?
  14. There's talk from Holland about interest in PSV's young Hungarian left winger Balazs Dzsudzsak. This kid has a sweet left foot! He could be a great signing for future.
  15. Why the hell is he disapointing you? He hasnt played a full game yet. He has 3 goals and hit the post 2 times? and creates spaces and oppurtunities for his teamates. If hes not worth of the NT wtf is Vyntra Goumas Dellas Kapsis etc doing on the team. You've named defenders, Samaras is a striker. The fact is, he's not as good/doesn't offer the threat of Haristea, Lybe, Salpi, Amanatidis, & Gekas
  16. File mou I'm actually being serious. Anorthosi, Omonia and Apoel would all challenge for third spot in Scotland, especially Ano. That's right. Some players become better by playing against stiffer opposition to continually improve (i.e. Gekas improved after going to Germany), others need a confidence boost against weaker opposition to re-find their form (e.g. Kovacevic from Spain to Greece). Hopefully the latter applies for Samaras.
  17. That's a very good sign but we mustn't get ahead of ourselves. He plays for the best team in Scotland, in a league that (if you take out Rangers) is on a par with the Cypriot league. He has to develop into a Larsson-level player at Celtic for us to consider him the real deal. I'm hoping that he's a confidence player, and if so banging in a few more before the Euro's could mean that he goes into the tournament at the top of his game!
  18. "Samaras Ready For Barca Test" http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,119...3177923,00.html
  19. @ Levendi: Sorry file I couldn't find a link for you either... if your boss doesn't change his no-youtube policy, QUIT! :P @ Paxiotis: Yes, that would've been a classy goal. Hopefully he carries on playing like this.
  20. Just like my girlfriend!Maria madalena)Dude,he was propably reffering to Giorgos Samara and not to you.Unfortunatelly the word Dude can be used for every guy,the same way as man or friend so would you like to add somthig to your nickname so it can be used only for you, like Red Dude,or Dude of England or CrazyDude?????Let me know....El Crazy
  21. File he is known for missing easy chances, that's because of an accuracy problem. He is also known for not getting many chances, that's because he can't physically impose himself enough to create chances. Yes, if he plays more he'll get better. But how much better?? If a player in the 3rd division in Greece that is used to sitting on the bench plays more, he'll get better too, but that's not enough to justify a place on the team. "Better" is relative.
  22. He has no accuracy, is too slow to have a dribbling ability and he's too weak to use his height effectively. Trying to argue that he would have played more had he conned the ref into getting a penalty really is clutching at straws.
