Evergreen Posted September 27, 2004 Share Posted September 27, 2004 Greek League (Defending Champions: Panathinaikos) Round 1 Day 1: PAO 3 Ionikos Nikeas 0 Equi blasts home capitalising on PAO's pressure Dimi Papadopoulos cooly chips the keeper Papadopoulos scores his second and PAO's third after some poor Ionikos defending Day 2: PAO 3 Skoda Xanthi 1 Angelos Basinas equalises with a missile from a mile away! Rudolph Skacel puts PAO ahead after Equi's pass and the defenders misjudgment of the ball Basinas wraps up the game for PAO after a lucky deflection Day 3: Apollon Kalamarias 0 Panathinaikos 1 Dimi Papadopoulos nicely puts the ball over the keeper from a set-up from Konstantinou Day 4: Panathinaikos 0 Egaleo 0 After a very poor game from the players as well as a lack of ideas from the debutant coach Zdenek Scasny, PAO were held to a goalless draw at home to Egaleo. Both teams struch the upright on one occasion. Day 5: A.O Kerkiras 2 Panathinaikos 0 After a shambolic performace of which PAO failed to make a single chance, PAO lost humiliatingly to a team that was in 2nd last place. To rub salt into the wound, on-loan from PAO, Xenofon Gittas scored an absolute belter from 30 metres to give The "Faiacians" the lead. It was clearly an error from Halkias behalf who failed to track the ball, whilst for the 2nd goal, Kerkira can thank Vytra who lost his player and them Konstantinidis who miss-controled the ball and set up N'Daye to make it 2-0 before the break. Day 6: Panathinaikos 4 Panionios 0 Dimi Papadopoulos scores after being put through by Basinas Michalis Konstantinou manages to break his "duck" scoring his 1st goal for the campaign 2-0! Dimi Papadopoulos shows a great touch and scored his 2nd of the game and 5th for the season 3-0! Macej Bykowski scores on his league debut after a nice turn from Gonzalez' threaded ball 4-0! Day 7: Iraklis 0 Panathinaikos 4 Majec Bykowski picks up where he left vs Panionios scoring with a nice headed flick 0-1!!! Macej Bykowski can't go wrong and scores an almost carbon copy goal as his 1st 0-2!!! Michalis Konstantinou get in the act and scores for a 2nd consective day 0-3!!! Sotiris Kirgiakos says, "if Konstantinou can score, so can I!!!" and bags his 2nd ever goal 0-4!!! Day 8: Panathinaikos 1 Kalithea 0 Michalis Konstantinou takes advantage of Gonzalez' through ball to score PAO's only goal. 1-0!!! Day 9: Aris Salonika 1 Panathinaikos 1 Papadopoulos open the scoring after a Munch cross and Konstantinou set-up, 0-1! Day 10: Olympiakos 1 Panathinaikos 0 Both teams had 3 chances a piece but Olympiakos capitalised on a free-kick they had through Rivaldo. PAO's loss can be blamed on PAO's coach Zdenek Scasny who played with a negative formation and made countless tactical errors. Day 11: Panathinaikos 1 Ergotelis 0 Konstantinou capitalises on Sanmarteans blocked shot and PAO's pressure 1-0 in the 90th min!!! Day 12 : Chalkidona 0 Panathinaikos 2 Michalis Konstantinou fires hme after a Vyntra assist 0-1!!! Markus Munch doubles PAO#s goals from the penalty spot after Skecel was brought down, 0-2!! Day 13: Panathinaikos 2 PAOK 1 Goumas equalises from close range after a Sanmartean pass 1-1!!! Konstantinou wins the game for PAO with a diving header 4 minutes from time 2-1!!! Day 14: AEK 1 Panathinaikos 0 After a shambolic 2nd half performance PAO lost 1-0. PAO had opportunities in the 1st half and hit the post in the 2nd half but still this was not enough to even get a point. Day 15: Panathinaikos 5 OFI Crete 1 Sotiris Kirgiakos heads home from a Munch corner kick 1-0!!! Kirgiakos scores his 2nd with a nice heal from a Charalampides cross-shot 2-0!!! Silvio Maric scores a 'Garry Lineker special' from another Charalampides assist 3-0!!! Konstantinou scores his 7th of the campign thanks to a Antric assist 4-0!!! Macej Bykowski scores his 4th of the campaign with a nice turn and shot 5-0!!! Round 2 Day 16: Ionikos 0 PAO 0 After poor game where PAO barely managed to create a couple half decent chances, Ionikos took a fairly derserved point. Day 17: Skoda Xanthi 3 PAO 1 In a game PAO was lucky to lose only 3-1, they were completly played off the park by a spirited and exciting Xanthi team. Eki Gonzalez scored PAO's only goal bring down the deficit to 2-1 10 minutes before half time. Day 18: Panathinaikos 5 Apollon Kalamarias 1 Goumas makes it 1-0 with a header after a Munch corner kick Konstantinou sets up Fanis Gekas to score his 1st goal for PAO, 2-0!!! Gekas returns the favor setting up Konstantinou to make it 3-0 with a tap in. Konstantinou gets his 2nd goal after a Munch cross , 4-0!!! Fanis Gekas scores his 2nd goal after outjumping everone from a Charalampides corner kick, 5-0!!! Day 19: Egaleo 0 Panathinaikos 1 Fanis Gekas scores after a Munch cross 0-1!!! Day 20: Panathinaikos 1 Kerkira 0 Konstantinou saves PAO again! 1-0!!! Day 21: Panionios 0 Panathinaikos 1 Fanis Gekas was PAO's golden scorer thanks to an Konstantinou assist. Day 22: Panathinaikos 0 Iraklis 0 After a very poor 1st half PAO never really got on top of Iraklis in the 2nd half either to score that 1 single crucial goal. Day 23: Kalithea 0 Panathinaikos 2 Gekas wins the penalty after a Gonzalez threaded ball Fanis Gekas dispatches the penalty he won, 0-1! Basinas scores a great goal after a poor clearance from the keeper, 0-2! Day 24: Aris 0 PAO 0 PAO played a poor game and deserved no more. Day 25: Panathinaikos 1 Olympiakos 0 Konstantinou from close gives PAO the win!!! Day 26: Ergotelis 1 Panathinaikos 3 Fanis Gekas and 0-1!!! Konstantinou and 1-2!!! Gonzalez and 1-3!! Panathinaikos 6 Chalkidona 3 Munch converts the Penaly Papadopoulos won 1-0!!! Gonzalez makes it 2-2 with a Gem of a goal!! Gekas makes it 3-2 after a 1-2 with Konstantinou Konstantinou makes it 4-3!! Konstantinou gets his 2nd and PAO it's 5th. 5-3!! Papadopoulos makes it safe and 6-3!!! Goals not available. Atsalenios Crete 0 Panathinaikos 4 Panathinaikos won 4-0 easily with Dimi Papadopoulos scoring 2 goals whilst Mitu and Sabanis chipped in with one each. Hence, PAO qualified with a 7-2 aggregate. Goals not availblae Round 2 Panathinaikos 2 Ionikos Nikeas 0 PAO won easily 2-0 from two goals scored by Miltos Sapanis and Rudoph Skacel. Goals not availbale. Ionikos Nikeas 0 Panathinaikos 1 PAO won easily in a bad game with a Konstantinidis goal. Goal not availbale. Quarter -finals AEK 1 PAO 1 Scorer: Konstantinou. Panathinaikos 2 Arsenal 2 Equi Gonzalez equalises with an 35 metre lob!!! Amazing!!!! Olisadebe takes advantage of poor marking and equalises for PAO again from Basinas corner! Kostas Halkias makes an amazing double save PAO from defeat!!! Arsenal 1 Panathinaikos 1 Loukas Vyntra cancels our Henry's gol with a lucky deflection of Pascal Cygan 1-1!!! Rosenborg 2 Panathinaikos 2 Konstanitinou hammers home after a Gonzalez threw-ball, 0-1! Skacel capilises on the goalkeeper's error and scores, 1-2! Panathinaikos 4 PSV Eindhoven 1 Papadopoulos capitises on Munch's cross to make it 1-0!!! Munch shoot home from the penalty spot after Papadopoulos won the penalty 2-1!!! Munch scores his 2nd from outsidethe box 3-1!!! Lucian Sanmartean steals the ball from the defender and cooly places PAO's 4th goal..4-1!!! Mario Galinovic saves Van Bommel's penalty at 3-1. UEFA CUP Final 32 Panathinaikos 1 Sevilla FC 0 A Loukas Vyntra missile from outside the box gives PAO a 1-0 win!!! Great goal!!!! Sevilla 2 Panathinaikos 0 PAO went out of the competition after conceeding 2 late goals (82', 92') after Equi Gonzalez was sent off with a second yellow in the 73' minute.
