after Galatasaray-Denizlispor game, coach Hagi said he resigned from his post. He occupied Galatasaray head coach role for one and a half season (March 2004 - May 2005) and had a record of 24-4-6 this season and a total of 27-5-8 totally. Good luck for him in the future and damn this board  Every year they make a legend walk out (Fatih Terim last year and Hagi now)...

hot news is that Galatasaray already arranged a deal with Belgian coach Eric Gerets. Perhaps ZEEKOEI can inform us about him a little. Actually, he has a humoury place in the minds of Galatasaray fans when he said that 'He is coming to Istanbul to make a week's holiday.' when he was coaching PSV. Both teams played the last game of the Group Stage and the winner would qualify. Naturally, Lions won!!!

anyway, he's a good coach and can be a fine addition to us to steer us into another European glory, who knows???

guess what? Hagi resigned and it is likely to be followed by the would-be departures of Mondi and Rigo!!! Mondragon said the game vs DENIZLI could be his last game with a Galatasaray jersey. :(

Eric Gerets was one of the best Belgian football players of his generation. He started his professional career playing for Standard Liege, where he stayed 10 years. Afterwards he played a year for Ac Milan and Mvv and ended in Eindhoven where he played 7 years for PSV. Highlight was the ECI with PSV in 1988.

He was a fantastic defender playing 86 games for the national team. Highlight was the fourth place of Belgium in the World Championships in Mexico in 1986 and the final of the European Championships in 1980.

As a coach he started in Liege, but not Standard but Club Liege. Two years later he joined Lierse SK, he ended two times 5th, in his third year as Lierse Coach Lierse even won the Belgian Championship.

He moved to Bruges where he got the title again in his first year and ended second in the year after. Then signed for PSV. In his first two years in Eindhoven he won the national championship. In his third year he was second and won the supercup.

Last four years he coached German teams Kaiserslautern and Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg was - being Bundesliga leader - THE revelation of the first half of this season, but they ended a little disappointing.

3 yıllık sozleşme yapılması planlanan Pires'in 2 gun icinde İstanbul'a geleceği ve imza atacağı bildirildi. Fransız futbolcu bir sorun cıkmazsa hafta sonu da G.Saray'ın Hollanda kampına katılacak.

ok, let me translate it for my Greek friends. SABAH today writes that Galatasaray have reached a deal with Arsenal winger Robert Pires. The player, 32, will sign a three-year deal and will get €2M yearly plus bonuses. According to the article, he will arrive in Istanbul on Friday at latest.

is it a done and sealed deal or yet another fabricated rumour? we will see!!!

Pires piresi

Fransız yıldız, G.Saray'dan senede 2 milyon 750 bin Euro ile 3 yıllık garanti anlaşma istedi ve 24 saat sure tanıdı.

Galatasaray'a Robert Pires'ten 24 saat. Arsenal'in Fransız yıldızı sarı-kırmızılı kulupten her yıl 2 milyon 750 bin Euro, 3 senelik sozlesme ve bunu garantileyen banka teminatı istedi. Sarı-kırmızılıların futbolcunun menajerine de 750 bin Euro ödemesi gerekeceğinden Pires'in Galatasaray'a 3 yıllık maliyeti 9 milyon Euro olacak.

coutesy of: SABAH

Yeah, as I yesterday questioned, it turned out to be another s-h-i-t-t-y rumour. Yesterday it was written that Pires accepted a €2M p/year offer from us but now he wants €2.75M cuz Benfica offered him €2.5M for three seasons!!!

I am pretty sure we will not sign him and we will just keep looking for World Class s-h-i-t-e-r-s such as Flavio and Saidou  :nono:

So far in this transfer season, we've missed Insua to Boca for just a reportedly of €220k per year!!!

DAMN THIS MANAGEMENT!!! :box: :box: :box: :box:

GALATASARAY LAND ILIC

Celebrating its centennary season, Galatasaray signed Serbia - Montenegro international Sasa Ilic from Partizan Beograd on a free transfer. The player had 13 caps for his country and was voted the player of the year in Serbian Premier Division last season, scoring 16 goals in 22 games en route to Partizan Beograd's title winning campaign.

Ilic plays as an attacking midfielder and he has been the heart of Partizan Beograd for more than a few seasons now. Ilic played half a season's loan at RC Celta of Spain in 2003-04 season. The Serbian, 27, is expected to fill the void of playmaking midfielder role in Galatasaray which has been blankly vacant ever since Gheorghe Hagi called it quits in 2001.

WELCOME ABOARD SASA!!!

I'm not sure if the red is the away kit but our home kit will be the yellow-red halved kit, which is our centennial kit. The club also introduced white and black kits as miscallenous jerseys but I don't think they will be worn much.

The Pires deal is as good as your Figo deal

I won't either, but the interest frmo both sides does seem genuine. From where will GS dig for the money though ? Regardless, this being the centennial year, there should be a big "mpam" as we like to say :P

Let's see how things materalize, this could be a big fat turish suprise !

The negotiations with Pires is still going on and somehow from nowhere Argentinian left winger from Polish Wisla Cracow, Mauro Andres Cantauro said Galatasaray and his agent agreed on a deal for a 2 year contract. The details were not disclosed but this sort of news deserves its own attention. Our currently contracted foreigners are Alioum Saidou and Rigobert Bahanag Song of Cameroon, Stjepan Tomas of Croatia, Faryd Mondragon of Colombia and Sasa Ilic of Serbia and Montenegro. The club claims to keep the rights of Franck Ribery who fleed to Marseille in June so that makes it six already. Let's say that Ribery is not granted the license to play for L'OM so he returns to Galatasaray. Let's say we agree a deal with Pires and that will make it eight foreigners. Coach Gerets also told the press that he would want a new experienced goalkeeper should Mondi leave. The names of Erwin Lemmens and German Lux are already circulating...

What is this Canaydin management trying to do? ... an unnoticed misery :(

alright, s-h-i-t happens at Galatasaray!!!

Neverbahce sign Appiah from Juventus...

Besiktas sign Ailton...

Our management is collecting the peas!!!

This story is way too familiar right now... :(

A big name player thrown in (Pires)... :o

A surprising shitty player to be signed on the last week of transfer period...

Our management's tight fistedness has never been so much bothering... <_<

They say that with the letters of confirmations from banks, Galatasaray has a current cash of €12.4M...

Why do not we see any hinge of this money when transfer season starts?

Do all the €Millions evaporate during summer?

This is by far the worst peace of management I have ever seen at Galatasaray! Not in terms of only signing players but also losing ones! :(

Flavio is gone, Ribo fleed, Mondi says "Viva Palermo!" and Saidou is being kicked out of club!

They somehow signed Ilic to ease the pains of the fans but after the "mpam"s of BJK and FB, GS fanbase is understandably frustrated.

Besiktas penned deal with Ailton in two days! B)

FB reached an agreement with Appiah in a week! B)

GS and Pires still negotiating... been a month!!!

I hate this Galatasaray management. They're so so so so stupid!!!

Their latest rabbit out of the hat is Wederson from Ankaraspor!!!

Yeah, Wederson impressed last season but the offer Galatasaray made to the capital club is amazingly idiotic...

€ 750, 000 + (take a deep breath) Hasan Kabze!!!!!

One of the players that have a glamorous future at Galatasaray is offered to a mediocre Turkish club for a mediocre foreigner... :(

Just Unbelievable!!! <_<

VESTEL MANISASPOR-GALATASARAY SK: 0-3

Pre-Season Friendly

Alsancak Stadium, IZMIR

Goals: Ak Orhan'26, Ates Necati'28 '57

Ratings for Galatasaray players...

GK - AYKUT 7 - looked solid and was quite jobless as Vestel merely came to The Lions' box.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

D R - SABRI 6 - pacey but plays with the ball too much.

D RC - SONG 8 - simply amazing defender. his agility is his most important asset.

D LC - TOMAS 7 - looked shaky at times but his tackles are so hard to get through.

D L - AK ORHAN 8 - scored a goal from an Altan corner and was a versatile runner at the left-back.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AM R - SASA ILIC 6 - has not yet adapted to his teammates. looked good with the ball.

DM RC - ALIOUM SAIDOU 6 - a typical anchorman but nothing special.

DM LC - CIHAN 7 - came to help the right-back position as well and looked a fine passer at anchor.

AM L - ALTAN 8 - great set piece taker but inconsistent throughout the game. could be the favourite player of Gerets.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S C - SUKUR 7 - hard worker. created a goal for Neco. looked in good shape at 34.

S C - NECO 9 - the best player in pre-season. hope he carries this sort of form to the League and UEFA Cup.

Subs...

TURAN ARDA 6 - replaced Cihan and played a solid speedy game in centra midfield.

YALCIN 5 - strong but misses tackles. needs to improve.

USTA SUAT 6 - showed he's ready for first team football in the nine minutes he participated.

YAVUZ IBRAHIM 5 - bought last year as a right-back but he's now a left-winger. needs to play well or he'll end up at somewhere on loan.

UCAR UGUR 7 - the newest great crop of Galatasaray Youth Academy. surely the right-back of Turkish NT in 2010 WC.

ZAFER 6 - brought on to replace Ilic. his passing is not the best for a would-be playmaker.

CAFERCAN 7 - replaced Altan and played his favourite position F LC. a big prospect and I hope we don't waste him.

VOLKAN 5 - not a hint of his great performances in 2003. needs to improve quickly.

KARAN 6 - will remain in the shadows of Neco and Sukur if he goes on like this.

MONDRAGON TO STAY PUT

Galatasaray's troublesome goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon accepted to sign a new contract with the club on Tuesday. The Colombian international's contract was set to expire in June 2006 but the new contract extends to June 2008. Mondragon's new wages will be $ 100,000 monthly plus a bonus of $ 5,000 for his every clean sheet.

The goalkeeper said he was very happy to be staying at his favourite club and added he would do everything possible to bring success to Galatasaray both in domestic and continental competitions. The 33-year-old Colombian was linked with a move to Italian Serie A side Citta di Palermo.

Now this is something we need to appreciate :) or is it  ? The guy has really created a problem for the team this season  and there are players known to be disillusioned with life at the team with Faryd between the sticks :( . I hope this move will not harm the chemistry of the team  .

Galatasaray have taken Serbian left sided midfielder Dragan Radosavljevic on trial for a week. It seems that Gerets has some foot in the Serbian Market. He was a highly-rated player at his youth and he was about to move to Dynamo Kyiv in 2001 for
