26 total players, 11 of them new players.

that is a very big overhaul from last seison. and difficult even for fatih terim to manage.

gs1905, i think you should also include changes in our technical personnal end of last seison.

along with fatih terim, former legend of the club taffarel replaced nezihi ali baloğlu as goalkeepers' coach.

fatih terim's asistants are former galatasaray players and uefa cup winners hasan şaş and umit davala. hasan's first coach experience while umit already coached turkey u21 team and galatasaray first team coach under skibbe in 2009.

galatasaray also dismissed jan evert derks, dutch youth director and replace him with mufit erkasap, former asistant of terim in galatasaray and fiorentina. erkasap will also coach a2 (rezerv) team, too.

Thanks for the staff update Neco. Long time no see! :o ;)

I didn't know Jan Derks left. I had a few good conversations with him last year when Galatasaray and Fenerbahce youth teams met to play against each other. He was looking pale and out-of-hope towards the end of last season because of the lack of support from the board, namely Adnan Sezgin.

Was he replaced, or did he resign? Do you know that in detail?

According to Kadir Cetincalı of Doğan News Agency (DHA), Galatasaray's possible starting line-up against İ.B.B. will be as such:

Istanbul Bş. Bld - Galatasaray : 2-0

IBB caused an upset at Ataturk Olympic Stadium last night.

Galatasaray played slightly differently than previewed. Muslera was in goal and the back four from left to right was positioned as Cağlar, Servet, Gokhan Zan and Ujfalusi. Felipe Melo played as the only DM while the midfield quartet was positioned as Eboue, Selcuk, Sabri, Kazım Kazım from left to right. Milan Baros played as the lone striker.

First 30 minutes saw Galatasaray dominate the game despite an impotent Baros. Melo, Selcuk and Eboue all had shots on target, only to be denied by the experienced Bosnian goalkeeper Kenan Hasagic.

Then, on 39' Galatasaray's new goalkeeper Muslera dropped a massive clanger, as he couldn't hold on to a weak Samuel Holmen cross. IBB captain Efe Inanc pounced on the mistake and gave IBB a 1-0 lead.

It was always uphill for Cim Bom after that and second half substitutions of Sercan, Engin and Yekta had little impact.

IBB's new signing Cameroonian international Pierre Webo doubled their lead on 81' after Eboue completely left him unmarked from a Gokhan Suzen cross.

New signing Elmander was left out of the squad hours before the game, as his minor injury did not allow him to play. Another new signing Riera was on the bench, but Terim preferred Engin Baytar on the left side as a replacement in the second half.

The impressive players for Galatasaray looked to be Tomas Ujfalusi, Felipe Melo and Selcuk Inan. Kazım Kazım looked unimpressive, while Milan Baros was a shadow of his usual-self, having difficulty to keep hold of the ball most of the time agains Can Arat, one of the most average stoppers in the Spor Toto Super League.

Nicknamed Giant Killers, it's IBB's one of many shock victories against the Big Three. It's their fifth season in the Super League and they've beaten Beşiktaş 4, Fenerbahçe 2 times, drawing 3 times with both of them as well. They only had 2 draws against Galatasaray, so this was their very first win in five seasons.

Galatasaray - Samsunspor : 3-1

CimBom got a rather unconvincing win over newly-promoted Samsunspor.

Felipe Melo's goal is one to remember from this one.

Former Galatasaray player Mustafa Sarp scored Samsunspor's only goal and silenced the crowd.

Galatasaray restored the lead with a superb combination goal from Selcuk - Sercan and Elmander. Three new signings combined extraordinarily and Elmander coolly slotted the ball home.

Selcuk doubled the lead with a spot-kick on 77'.

Here are the highlights.

I didn't see the match, why they criticise Baros and Muslera too much on TV? Baros is still most valuable player of GS and he is forward of GS no doubt, bed performance for few match doesn't change this reality.

haydar,

Baros is criticised for underperforming. The problem is, he is not getting any support.

If you remember the seasons Baros played really well, you'd see that there was either a #10 behind Baros (Lincoln in this case) or two wingers who played like forwards (Kewell/Arda, Keita).

Now, we have a true winger in Riera who hardly cuts inside but always stays deep and looks for the cross, and Kazım Kazım who is neither a supporting forward nor a winger but a mix of both.

Hence, the only real support to Baros comes from deep runs of Melo or long range passes by Selcuk.

If you watch carefully first half, Baros receives the ball from Selcuk three times but cannot do anything effective because he is surrounded by three or four defenders.

The reason we played much better in the second half is we played with two strikers, Elmander and Sercan.

We need to play a 4-4-2 with wingers playing as wingers, not inside-drifting forwards like Kewell or Keita.

Baros, Elmander and Sercan should all be considered as rotation players, and based on the number of foreigners and/or team's respective situation each game, two of them should start in my opinion.

About Muslera, I can't understand why they are so hard on him. He conceded a bad goal against Belediye, but that can happen to any goalkeeper. He was solid against Samsunspor and Mustafa Sarp had the luck on his side as he couldn't contact the ball properly, but the ball went in past Muslera because of Melo's challenge. I think Muslera is OK.

And Mustafa Sarp, what a jerk he is with that celebration! Do you remember him saying "I'm a Galatasaray fan by blood and by my family." f*****!! :xxx:

Matchday 3 - Kardemir Karabukspor v Galatasaray

Galatasaray's first out-of-Istanbul game this season produced a draw as both teams dug deep to get a point in this one.

Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was unfairly ejected on 16' after a tackle on Karabukspor striker Shelton outside the box.

Karabukspor took the lead with a weird goal on 72', as Karabukspor right-back Erdem cut inside to take a long-range strike with his left-foot. The slow strike bounced awkwardly and took Galatasaray goalkeeper Ufuk for a fool.

Galatasaray levelled on 82' with Felipe Melo converting a spot-kick after Milan Baros was fouled inside the box.

Fatih Terim criticised referee Bunyamin Gezer after the match, saying if it were 11v11, things would have been far different, and felt the sending off was unfair.

Here are the match highlights...

Tomorrow Galatasaray will host in-form Eskişehirspor and former coach Michael Skibbe.

Fernando Muslera is serving a red-card suspension and will not be available for this match.

Ufuk Ceylan is expected to play in goal.

Galatasaray is expected to play a 4-4-2 with Elmander and Baros upfront.

Eskişehirspor on the other hand, come to this game on a 0-0 draw with Genclerbirliği.

Coach Skibbe is expected to continue with his fluent 4-3-3, with the in-form midfielder Alper Potuk leading the Es-Es midfield.

Injured Scottish striker Kris Boyd may also make his debut, but a starter's position is highly unlikely for the former SPL topscorer.

Spor Toto SuperLig Matchday 4

Gokhan Zan Goal : 1 - 0

Felipe Melo Goal : 2 - 0

Galatasaray defeated Eskişehirspor 2-0 thanks to goals from stopper Gokhan Zan and wild midfielder Felipe Melo.

Gokhan Zan headed a Selcuk cross home after Albert Riera was fouled on 23 minutes.

Felipe Melo's goal came on 56 minutes. Selcuk's corner was cleared by Es Es defence, only till left-back Hakan Balta, who got a ferocious strike outside the box deflected onto the woodwork. Melo was there to apply the finish, and bag his third goal in four matches.

Ujfalusi, Selcuk and Riera seemed up to it, while Felipe Melo and Hakan Balta had a performance to remember each.

Analyzing the first four league games of Galatasaray, it's clear to say that Fatih Terim wants to establish a hard-battling but technically gifted midfield and that is his priority.

Felipe Melo and Selcuk Inan played 360 minutes of football in 4 matches, playing every single minute in the process.

Melo is the leading scorer of the team with 3 goals.

Terim tried numerous formations in the first four games.

The first game against IBB, the team played what looked to be a loose 4-3-3. But the ineffectiveness of Milan Baros as a lone striker was eye-catching.

Against Samsunspor, the team also started a 4-3-3, then finished the game with a 4-4-2 with Sercan and Elmander upfront. The 4-4-2 looked much more effective, as two quick goals towards the end gave Galatasaray the win.

Galatasaray started the Karabukspor game with a 4-4-2 formation, and Sercan and Elmander lead the way with their high line pressing. The tactics looked OK but a rash tackle by Muslera on Shelton led to the goalkeeper's sending off. Eventually, Riera was taken off and the team had to settle for a lucky draw.

The fourth game of the season saw Galatasaray play in-form Eskişehirspor. This time Terim tried a 4-1-4-1, as Felipe Melo played deeper.

Selcuk and Engin Baytar were the two MCs, and Elmander played as the lone striker with Kazım Kazım and Riera as the supporting wingers.

Tomas Ujfalusi played all 360 minutes, whilst Kazım Kazım played 337.

Spor Toto SuperLig - Matchday 5

MKE Ankaragucu - Galatasaray : 0 - 3

Galatasaray had an easy ride and scored the club's 3000th league goal in this one.

Jan Rajnoch opened the scoring with an own goal, scoring Cim Bom's 3000th league goal in the process.

Kazım Kazım doubled the lead on 19 minutes, after a great counter-attack set him free on the right side of the box. He took his goal really well, in to the far top corner.

Milan Baros converted a penalty on 85, after being fouled in the box.

But the really important win came in the match against Lietuvos Rytas in the Euroleague Qualifiers Final Match.

The missing guy from the first two days, Preston Shumpert took control in the third quarter to carry the team to its maiden THY Euroleague apperance (Galatasaray took part in Champions' Cup in 1970's, 1980's and 1991, but since the establishment of the European League in 1993, it's the first appearance).

Shumpert had 14 points on 6/9 shooting, while star signing Jaka Lakovic added 10 points, 3 rebs and 6 assts.

Power forward Luksa Andric and shooter Joshua Shipp also had 12 points each.

Son bir kez daha, CIM BOM BOM EUROLEAGUE'DE!!!!!!

Galatasaray - Bursaspor : 2 - 1

Galatasaray kept their perfect record in Turk Telekom Arena with a 2-1 win over Bursaspor.

Galatasaray took the lead with a well-placed finish from Johan Elmander after new signing Engin Baytar dribbled through Bursaspor defence and assisted the Swede on 21 minutes.

Bursaspor equalised through their young skipper Serdar Aziz, as the centre-back headed in a well-taken corner on 81 minutes.

Milan Baros won it for Galatasaray in 88 minutes, after a great string of passes.

The win summed up a superb week for Galatasaray as the men's and women's basketball teams won the President's Cup with dominant wins over Fenerbahce.

Matchday 10 - Galatasaray v Mersin IY : 0 - 0

Fatih Terim's men dropped two points at home to Mersin IY in an action-packed match.

Galatasaray started the match with a slightly different formation than usual. The formation seemed to be an asymetric 4-3-1-2.

Posted Image

Galatasaray v Mersin IY - first half formation

Terim planned to press early to Mersin's weak left-side by placing Kazım Kazım in a more advanced position on the flank. This meant Riera had to come in and play as a third central-midfielder most of the time. Selcuk and Felipe Melo swapped positions sometimes but it was usually the Brazilian who played in a more advanced position.

Kazım Kazım did well defensively but was a liability offensively. His only positive moment came when he passed the ball to Sabri on the overlap, as the captain hoofed the ball over the crossbar.

Semih Kaya started alongside Tomas Ujfalusi again, and was very successful in terms of marking the strong Marcio Nobre.

Albert Riera was absolutely a disaster and caused the penalty on 45+1 thanks to his terrible pass when he came deep to receive the ball. Muslera, committing himself in the penalty, did a fantastic save from Moritz's spotkick.

Riera was booed off by the fans at half-time as he was the biggest underperformer by a massive margin in the first half.

The second half started with two changes for CimBom. 35 year-old Ayhan was thrown in to the centre of midfield in place of Sabri, and Riera was taken off to be replaced by Sercan.

Replacing quick but inaccurate Sabri with slow but pinpoint Ayhan helped Galatasaray establish a more of a presence in the second half. Selcuk remained as the deep-positioned playmaker but Felipe Melo started to play as a free-flowing #10 behind Elmander. Sercan used the left-flank effectively, in particular the first fifteen mins of the 2nd half, and Eboue became the best player on the pitch with his constant overlaps, dribbles, and accurate crosses. The Galatasaray in the second half was argubly what Terim wanted to see in his 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1 since the beginning of the season.

What let Galatasaray down was the lack of finishing. Elmander missed four chances, three of which were 99% goalscoring opportunities. But it's hard and unfair to criticise the Swede, who ran his chops off and covered more than 12 km in the game.

Galatasaray now have 18 points and lie in 3rd place.

Our lions have defeated Fenerbahce 3-1, as goals from Eboue, Elmander and Felipe Melo were good enough to secure a famous victory. Fenerbahce pegged one back thanks to Alex's 90+4 min strike.

After a fantastic finish to the first half of the season, league leaders Galatasaray want to get rid of dead wood, according to Milliyet.

Spanish expensive bench-warmer Albert Riera will head off to Dynamo Moskva in January, if things are as planned. A Dynamo representative is expected to arrive in Istanbul today to discuss the details of the transfer.

Riera's wife is unhappy in Istanbul and wants a move to Russia, the source says.

Dynamo will look to agree a fee around €2M, while Gala wants to get the money spent on the Spanish winger back.

Galatasaray signed the winger from Thrylos for €3.2M.

Also, the Russian club may look to sign Servet Cetin if a fee can be agreed. The Turkish NT defender, 30, has been on the fringes on the second part of the first half of the season so far, losing his place to up and coming youngster, Semih Kaya.

Kayserispor forward Noureddine Amrabat also declared earlier today that he wants to play for Galatasaray in the second half of the season.

Gala officially tabled an enquiry for the player earlier this month but Kayserispor board reacted with a distinct hostility, saying they will not let any other their players go to Galatasaray in the future, because of the club's approach.

Galatasaray beated Besiktas with last minute goal,

Elmander x 2, Melo scored the goals. for GS while Toraman, Semih (own goal) for Besiktas.

Galatasaray 3-2 Besiktas

I didn't wait such a performance from Besiktas, it was a tough win for GS while they beat Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor easly.

On the other hand more than to add the goals here, i found worth to add this 3D careographi of Glatasaray supporters. It was really a great show,,,

The theme was; ''Galatasaray always walks his head up''

Fenerbahce 2-2 Galatasaray

Galatasaray missed the win aganist Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce saved the draw in Kadikoy, in their home with perfect shoots by Moussa Sow and Alex De Souza in first 15 minutes. Galatasaray closed the game around the deffance of Fenerbahce all other parts of the game. It was an amazing match, It was good job by GS to came from 2-0 and to miss the win by luck.

Galatasaray already guaranteed the champhions league of next year. If Play off system wasn't came this year we were already Champhion. The closest follower of GS is Fenerbahce with 9 points difference. Here below the summary of the beautiful derby,,,

Galatasaray is really made good team this year. It was little adventage this year we couldn't participate in Europe. Next year i suppose at least quarter final in CL. If we can protect our team and with few additional.

Important Transfer's performance this year;

Johan Elmander: Many people have doubts about his technical capacity including me, however Elmander one of the best proffesionel come to Turkey. He is a real warrior he gave full performance he become the first forward of GS in a short time by eleminating Milan Baros.

Emanuel Eboue: Eboue's performance was not suprise hence he choose the Galatasaray by rejecting his ex team Arsenal's better proposal due to Arsenal supporters bad effect on him. Eboue was the deffender type of GS was looking for, fast, helpfull to forward, skilled. He saved galatasaray deffence from our ex player unbalanced performer Sabri.

Tomas Ulfalusi: Another proffessionel Ulfalisi become the main player of the deffance with our young star Semih, he and Semih didn't make any big mistake untill now. They made Galatasaray best deffender team of Turkey.

Felipe Melo: Brazilian NT player Melo was transfered to Juventus few season before with 25 M euro and rented to GS with buying option to 13 milion. He started to be warrior and patient soldier of GS also as a Middle-Deffender he scored goals more than many offansive middler or some forwards.

Necati Ates: Our ex player Necati transffered at the middle season and he started to score at the first match and he made our most expensive player Milan Baros the step. Necati is an example player with his example family life, no cigarette, no alcohol and full patient and study he gave the full performance.

Engin Baytar: Trabzon's problematic son Engin born in GS again with Terim. He find chance to show his skills and he become a good boy with Terim's management.

Albert Riera: Riera was the only dissapointing transfer of GS and probably will be sent at the end of the season.

And;

Fatih Terim: Even i don't love his personality i can't deny his good choose and his effect on the players. He is the biggest factor of Galatasaray's this year succsess.

We gave Kazim Kazim to Olympiakos, Kazım was average player in team not bad not good and after he left team didn't effected negatively.

We gave ''Arda Turan'' our young captain to Athletico Madrid. He is now one of the best player of the Athletico. He was good player however he wanted to move to LA Liga. Galatasaray was building the game over him when he was there after he moved even team lost the power olaso it made good effect to team to built a real team football.

As addition to Wesley Schneider, Galatasaray finished the transfer of legend forward Didier Drogba form Shangai Shenua (China). As you know Drogba was the key player last year in Chelsea while they were wining the Champions League. He is choosen best player of the final match aganist to Bayern Munchen by FIFA.

Great and unbleivable transfer by our great major Unal Aysal. He really going on the way to make Galatasaray in best 5 teams in Europe like how we were in 2000.

with last transfers we have really quality foreigner players;

Fernando Muslera, (Uruguay NT Goal Keeper, in best 5 GK list according to FIFA)

Emanuel Eboue, (Ivory Coast NT key player, Ex Arsenalian)

Tomas Ulfaluji, (injured, Czech Republic NT Captain)

Dany, (Cameroon NT player, young skill)

Wesley Sjneider, (Holland NT Captain, he was in best 5 player with Ronaldo and Messi in 2010)

Didier Drogba, (Ivory Coast NT Captain, he is choosen best player of 2012 CL final match )

Johan Elmander, (Sweden NT key player)

Felipe Melo, (Brazilian NT Player, he is in the list of Scolari for 2014 to be in NT again, if his anger management could be better he is one of the best deffensive middle player in wrold)

Nordin Amrabad, (Morocco NT star, yound and skilled guy. He is really fast and it is difficult to stop him. He transfered from Kayserispor to 8 milion Euro last this year, he came to Turkey from PSV)

Riera, (Spanish NT Player, ex Liverpool player) Riera is not giving his full performance, however terim managed to make a left deffender from him. He send to step the Turkisn NT left deffender HAkan Balta. He is doing his work however far away performance of Spanish NT player, Liverpool years.

Milan Baros (On sale, Czech Republic NT key player)

And our Turkish stars;

Hamit Altintop, (He played in Bayern Munchen, Shalke 04, Real Madrid for many years, if he wasn't Turkish it could be so difficult to bring him to Turkey. He is leading GS with his experience in the middle)

Burak Yılmaz, (Most scorer of Turkish league last year and first in the list to be most scorer of the CL this year, agressive and good finisher)

Selcuk Inan, (Disiplined and skilled, IMO he is candidate to move to biggest clubs such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelaea next year, it will be difficult to keep him in GS)

Semih, (IMO one of the best deffender of the Europe, brave and disiplined. He gives confident in deffence. He almost got the offer from Man U last year)

Emre Colak, (young star, gives hope for next. He got experience in CL in his young age and he able to carry this responsibility)

Umut Bulut, He is playing like the same in best times of him in Trabzonspor. He transfered to Tolouse / France 2 seasons before and actually he is lost in France. But he is again in a improvement. Already clubs started to take his fee from Tolouse hence he is rented for 1 season to Galatasaray.

And coach, Fatih Terim He is experienced coach who will able to manage with these starts. Terim got UEFA cup with Galatasaray in 2000. he got Italian Cup with Fiorentina later and transfered to AC milan. He is the first Turkish coach achieved such a sucsess. In his management Turkish NT played semi final in Euro competition.

As conculation; All players are playing in their NT and accept Melo and Ulfaluji other players are key player of their NT and many of them Captain. If we can catch the balance of the team a semi final in CL is not far away for Galatasaray.

We will play 2 matches with Shalke 04 to pass to quarter final. I have hope that we will able to pass Shalke 04. We really miss the old year sucsess.
