Blackhawk Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 Wieteska was very good in this game. On the other hand Baba was very poor and made many mistakes. Hopefully we get this Jurasek guy, so there are more options on the left side of defense.
PAOKSYD Posted January 26 Posted January 26 With jurisek and a striker tis prokopies we have a serious team again.
paokarag4 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Jurasek has had back to back 90 minutes for Hoffenheim (Europa and Bundesliga) since word came out we were interested in him. Not sure what is going on there, did Benfica tell Hoffenheim they were going to recall him from the loan and send him to us and that has jump-started the Germans into playing him again? I don't know but it looks like it'll be a tough signing to complete. As for the game, thank god for Camara! The man has been our saviour time and time again this season. Also good to hear the Wieteska stood up and had a good game, he looked pacey from the highlights I saw which is always handy. The Olympiacos-PAO draw means we make up ground today, but our performances are still lacking. Another big week coming up, with Sociedad and AEK. Beat AEK and I'll start to believe that we can give the top 2 a shake for the rest of the season.
pash Posted January 27 Posted January 27 The thing about Hoffenheim is that they have only one other LB. I'm not all that familiar with their team but only their backup RB and two of their less-notable CBs have any experience in that position. Would they really risk dropping him, especially with only a few days left in the window? I know some of the fan sites claimed that Hoffenheim's coach told Jurasek he wasn't in his plans, but if they don't have another player incoming, then I can't see how they can afford to move on without him. This leads me to wonder if they're playing him to make a point about being compensated for Benfica breaking the loan. Also, looking at the player's history this year - are we really sure Hoffenheim doesn't really rate him? He lost the first two months of the season due to a broken arm (I'm guessing that happened at the end of last season). He's only played 670 minutes, but the garbage time substitutions petered out a while ago (and probably were just him getting back into match fitness). Very strange situation, I really can't tell what our chances are of actually getting this guy.
pash Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I was wondering if Pelkas was thinking of this as a Vieirinha-style return - he kind of says that in his interview (left at the same age, returned at the same age). May his reign be as fruitful!
