Biseswar subbed in at HT for Mitrita.

Still have the hope and feeling we can squeeze that nasty equalizer somewhere in the dying minutes.

That was...a pretty dumb yellow for the ref to give. Oh well, 0-1 loss is not the end of the world. These guys are beatable in the second leg.

We were completely harmless on offense. We could make it with ease to their box, but there we could not create anything. We just don't know what to do with the ball.

We can beat them at Toumba, but it won't be easy.

This game was an embarrassment from all aspects.

  1. Our central midfielders cannot control the ball
  2. Our goalkeeper could not clear even if his life depended on it
  3. Our defenders can only play two ways: sideways or long ball
  4. Akpom showed why he isn't good enough for the Championship and how bringing him back is proof that we had nobody else lined up
  5. They were wasting time already from the 30th minute
  6. They kept falling over like they were made of straw
  7. Pawson once again showed how he is inept on various occasions (special mention goes to the yellow at the end)

The reason why they won today was because they could keep the ball. We could not string more than 3 passes together before either miscontrolling or giving the ball away. They had a lot more composure.

Ingason our best player today. Lyratzis also good, mainly in 1st half. Mitrita and Schwab very poor. No help from midfield at all today. That is the weak link on our team. Not only in today's game. We will need to play better if we want to qualify next week.

Can't play Augusto up front and hope to have creativity. Push him back into Schwab's place and play Biseswar as a #10 next time. It's the only way to go!

Disappointing performance, even if we did slightly improve in the 2nd half(I think Midtjylland fatigued and their lack of matches shone through) we still were not good enough particularly in attack. Their pressing gave us all sorts of problems, and for large stretches we could not move the ball into our half let alone into our attacking third. Biseswar helped in that regard but it wasn't enough.

As others have pointed 1-0 is doable, my concern is are we going to be able to build up and create anything with them pressing us and our players seemingly unable to deal with that press.

It will be different in Toumba but this performance was very lackluster and after waiting for 5 years for some knock-out European football that's what was dished up?

Anyway qualification is still up for grabs, I think we are good for a goal in the 2nd leg. Hopefully there's a 2nd and a nice 2-0 win in regular time.
