Really? You don't think that's a recipe for depressingly defensive play?

I'd stick with what's been working:

                           --Olsen--

               --Vitor--Costa--Tzavellas--

                     --Tziolis--Kace

--Konstantinidis--                  --Rodrigues--

                      --Pelkas--Mak--

                         --Berbatov--

We already know Berbatov is starting. I don't think Tudor will play Klaus at the same time. Also, Tudor doesn't actually play two CFs most of the time - it's only when Jairo comes in as a sub that we see two move up. The lineup is much more fluid than that.

We know Klaus will not start. I also think Pelkas will stay on the bench for this one as well.

It's possible that Vitor might not be ready due to the injury. In that case Malezas might play. I am also wondering what has happened to Skondras all this time.

If Pelkas sits out, who do you think will serve as playmaker? Mistakidis?

Berbatov, but I'm not sure if he has the legs to do it for 90 minutes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 DM's of Sabo, Tziolis and Kace, to try and pack the middle.  It's difficult to say.  It all depends on what Tudor wants from the game.  Does he want PAOK to just go for it and play their normal game ?  In that case, the formation will be similar to we've had in previous matches.  Alternatively, he may try and play a defensive game, hope for 0-0 at half-time and open up in the second half.  It's hard to say.  The line up will reveal his intent ...

No unfortunately! They sold out before I could get access to the net. Will try not to make the same mistake for the Olympiakos match

About 1,200 Dortmund fans will be at Toumba. They will be placed in Gate 8. They will be bussed to Toumba from the White Tower, where they are supposed to meet. Let's hope they do a more thorough search than they did with the Rapid Vienna fans few years ago.The approximately 20 Aris fans that claim to be from the Borussia Dortmund Fan Club in Greece will be watching the game from the VIP section at Toumba.

Reports are that this will most likely be the starting lineup:

--------------------Berbatov-----------Mak-------------------------

Rodrigues-------Sabo---Tzioli-----Kace---------Konstantinidis

-------------Tzabellas------Costa-------Malezas---------------

Posted

Well, at least we'll have some real speed going for us. Mak, Rodrigues, Kace, and Konstantinidis should keep it interesting.

Vitor is injured?

Posted

Vitor is game day decision. Most likely Malezas will play. That's who Tudor tried at defense today. Also, instead of Pelkas he was trying Sabo, which would point to this lineup:

------------------------ Olsen -----------------------

---- Costa --------- Malezas --- Tzavellas ---

Konstantinidis - Kace - Tziolis - Rodrigues

--------- Sabo ----------------------- Mak --------

---------------------- Berbatov --------------------

Posted

Vitor is gonna be a game time decision, and Malezas is prepared to start if Vitor can't.

I'm hoping the Sabo - Tziolis combo can at least get some good passes forward, because God knows they're not breaking any speed records.

Posted

Sabo's not a DM, I'd buy Blackhaw's variation a bit more. On the plus side, Sabo's much more interested in attacking than Tziolis is.
