Athens4 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 On the contrary I would say it is good for us too.
pash Posted December 29, 2023 Author Posted December 29, 2023 Now that Kedziora is getting more time at CB than RB, I think we'll be fine. Same with Rahman, if he goes (I'm sure he will). Soares has been pretty good, and Vieirinha will get plenty of time. What I am MORE interested in: will Tzimas actually get real minutes? We literally have no other strikers, if Brandon Thomas gets hurt or fatigued. Like surely Tzimas will be forced to start at some point, unless we start playing Taison as a false 9 or something. It will be very interesting to see what happens there. Even if Thomas starts every game, you'd think Tzimas would lock down a sold half hour each time, just out of necessity.
paokarag4 Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 I think Tzimas will rotate through the starting XI with Samatta gone, agree with you pash maybe it will only end be being 20-30 minute cameos off the bench but still some solid minutes for him. I think Despodov can play as a striker too (think I've read he has done so for his old club and occasionally for Bulgarian NT) so he may also come into calculations.
pash Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 I was wondering if he or Konstantelias would be drafted there. Konstantelias would break like a twig but Despodov might have it. So, good point!

That’s where I play Despodov in football manager
pash Posted December 30, 2023 Author Posted December 30, 2023 Do you give him a tough-love pep talk before each game? 1
Dutch Eagle Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 Baba will be available for us as he is not included in the squad for Ghana.
pash Posted January 1, 2024 Author Posted January 1, 2024 He gives his reasoning for requesting to not be called up here - I really hope he's not still in pain or injured, because it doesn't bode well for our season if he is still in pain... 1
Dutch Eagle Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 William Troost-Ekong starting for Nigeria in their opener for the Africa Cup against Equatorial Guinea. He is even captaining the Super Eagles. 1
Dutch Eagle Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Troost-Ekong captaining Nigeria against Ivory Coast and just converted a penalty. Nigeria leading 0-1. 1
Dutch Eagle Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Samatta provided the assist today for the goal of Tanzania against Zambia. FT 1-1.
pash Posted January 22, 2024 Author Posted January 22, 2024 Troost-Ekong might be injured, hopefully this is not a big one: https://inpaok.com/805976/kindynos-na-chasei-to-tournoua-o-ekongk/
Dutch Eagle Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Tanzania drew their last match 0-0 and is eliminated. Samatta is coming but might be injured as he was subbed out a few minutes before the final withle because he was not able to continue.
Dutch Eagle Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Troost-Ekong starting again for Nigeria, in the round of 16 against Cameroon.
pash Posted January 28, 2024 Author Posted January 28, 2024 It seems Samatta is not really injured (or at least, not VERY injured) and was just taken off as a precaution. Can't wait to see him go back to not scoring for us!
Dutch Eagle Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Troost-Ekong and Nigeria defeated Angola 1-0. In the semis of AFCON they will face either Cape Verde (of Garry Mendes Rodrigues) or South Africa. 1
Blackhawk Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Ekong with another goal from a penalty kick in the semifinal game between Nigeria and South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations. I's say he take over from Schwab as far as penalties is concerned for PAOK.
Dutch Eagle Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 He scored another one in the penalty shoot out after the game ended 1-1 (penalty for South Africa too, in the last minute of the match to bring it to extra time) Nigeria won the shoot out 4-3. Bring the trophy a little bit to the Lefko Pirgo, William!
Dutch Eagle Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Troost-Ekong and Nigeria will face host Ivory Coast in the final. The same Ivory Coast they beat in GS and proved to be a cat with 9 lives.
Athens4 Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 We must surely be cashing in on this guy in the summer.
Blackhawk Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 He might be the MVP of the tournament if Nigeria wins it.
Dutch Eagle Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Good header. Does anyone know if we get any money per day for him (and Samatta) as we did for Andrija in the WC?
Blackhawk Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Unfortunately at the end Nigeria lost 2:1. Ivory Coast lifts the trophy.
