Dutch Eagle Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 The peponihead is appointed as trainer/coach of Almere city FC U19 as of the next season. Almere is his place of birth, btw. 2
Dutch Eagle Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Yevhen Kacheridi was shown the red card in only his second Premier League-appereance for current champions Dynamo Brest. Will history be repeated here? 1
Dutch Eagle Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 The season in France is over and the French FA decided that the standings right after the corona-outbreak will be also the final standings for the 2019/2020 season. Therefore Koulouris is relegated with his club Toulouse. Law suits are expected as some teams claim they would have been able to avoid relegation or achieve european football (like Olympique Lyonnais).
paokarag4 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 It was always going to be messy one way or another. I heard that the French football federation have a rule in place where by if the season cannot be finished for whatever reason the table stands as is. If that is indeed the case then Lyon and co aren't going to have much luck with their lawsuits.
Dutch Eagle Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Vasilis Samaras, the oldest former player of PAOK, died at the age of 95: https://inpaok.com/641908/efyge-o-megalyteros-tou-paok/ In 2015 he was honoured in an almost empty Toumba: https://www.paokfc.gr/nea/20151110-paok-story-vasilis-samaras/ 1
paokarag4 Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Rumors coming out of Israel (where he currently coaches) that we want Ivic back to coach next season. I got the impression that he left on bad terms with George Savvidis so not sure if he'd actual consider returning. https://www.sport24.gr/football/omades/Paok/paok-grafoyn-gia-pithanh-epistrofh-ivits-sto-israhl.5718722.html
Bananas Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Couldn’t care one iota if Abel leaves. The only thing that burns me is his high salary which he totally does not deserve. As for Ivic, not sure. There is still the mystery of why he left ... maybe Ivan pulled a gun out on him ha ha. Ivic as a coach was decent. Not sure if he’s got what it takes to win a title (now that Lucescu raised the bar). If it were up to me I’d be considering Garcia as the next manager.
Dutch Eagle Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Ivic back to back Israeli champions with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
pash Posted June 28, 2020 Author Posted June 28, 2020 Guy's going to have a great coaching career. Stone-cold competent.
PaokCT Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Ivic is rumored to be heading to Watford. What a shock that would be, him coaching in the EPL
Athens4 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Not quite the EPL as they have been relegated but even Championship is a good level.
PaokCT Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Lamprou scored for Twente today, a beautiful free kick
paokarag4 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Ivic is set to be appointed as Watford's new manager on a 2 year deal. They were relegated and will ply their trade in the Championship in the upcoming season. Huge opportunity for him hope he does well! https://www.bt.com/sport/news/2020/august/serbian-vladimir-ivic-close-to-being-named-watford-manager 1
pash Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Deligiannidis is off to Romania. Expect this to be the exact career path for Balogiannis as well. Canas looks like he's linked with a second-division side in Spain, after his contract with Red Star was terminated. Guess the new adventure wasn't all it was cracked out to be. -edit- Oh and Shakhov wants out of Lecce. See above for my hot take. Edited August 13, 2020 by pash
Dutch Eagle Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Can you believe this??!!! Pontus Wernbloom was in the squad of IFK Göteborg and was subbed in in '58 as the score was 1-1 against reigning champion Djurgården. FT 2--2, btw.
pash Posted August 22, 2020 Author Posted August 22, 2020 Yeah it's almost as if his inability to play for us for two years was made up! Shock!
Dutch Eagle Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Razvan Lucescu won the championship in Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal. He is the first trainer/coach to win the Asian Champions League and the Saudi Championship with the same team.
Dutch Eagle Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Stelios Malezas is a retired player from now on. 1
Dutch Eagle Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Bölöni did a Beretta: sacked after just 25 days at AA Gent 1
paokarag4 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Shakhov is being linked with a move to AEK
