Original Sydney
No matter how much the odds are stacked against our teams you never lose hope. As I said I am sure everyone in AEK knows what's going on in the background and where the favouritism is toward but if AEK do their job, stay focused and be consistent then anything can happen..... Original Sydney
First year winning it is a hard ask but no one said it cant be done but I will be happy with top 3 then a shot at the CL spot. Either way CL would be amazing but Europe for first season wouldn't so bad either
Original Sydney
Im sure they will be after that and what happens is all a mystery
Original 21
Much talk on Facebook about Samaras. I think it's just talk at this stage At this point Samaras would be a good fit
Original Sydney
OPAP has not been PAO come on man seriously not every agency or person is against PAO. If anything PAO has many people and media behind them. AEK is the team not many have loved.... Anyway as for Samaras I would take him its not like we got much better and I think he would do well for us.

Original Sydney
I don't think you guys have been more screwed than us as I said AEK was the team not many loved. Look now re they wont even let us build a stadium as a way to get back at Meli for his apparent dodgy deals, which bloke in Greece isn't dodgy? Our govts ffs rip Greece off.... They let one team suffer without a stadium due to other issues. Maybe him having OPAP is another reason why but really a team cant suffer because of that and lastly atleast you guys have had a couple titles to celebrate, us on the other hand have gone 2 decades without one
Akritis_1944
Until Samaras honestly looks at what he wants to accomplish in the 4/5 years he has left as a player then he will continue to be a joke being linked with jokes like Cosmos or Melbourne City. AEK is the perfect club for him but he's on record as saying he'll never play in Greece (aside from some cryptic reference to OFI). Quite possibly the most moronic thing anyone can say given that there aren't many clubs anywhere in the world that want him. If I was his manager or confidant I'd berate him for being a c*nt. CHE21QNS
I personally wouldnt mind Samara, I think he has the attributes of the player we need, when fit. Just the mention of Papadopoulo however brings me nausea.
Akritis_1944
You're right Reaper. He looks disinterested and lacks passion. That's just my perception but when you compare Busquets outlook to what most of us think of Samara then there's a huge difference. I think Samaras can definitely help a club like AEK given they are only playing domestically but if he doesn't sign now he'll fade away until January. Akritis_1944
Samaras has a decent history. Papadopoulos is not bankable. That would be totally flat. Compare PAOK signing Berbatov to them signing Papadopoulos.
CHE21QNS
I have to admit seeing how the paokia welcomed Berbatov and seeing what he stated walking into Toumpa made me feel a tad bit jealous, knowing that we probably had a decent chance at signing him. Compare the panic and hype that took place when he walked on to the pitch compared to the ksenera and booing when Djebbours name is called. Compare that to the ksenera of seeing Chrisantus laughing like an idiot when he botches opportunities. I feel great about our squad and I'm happy with the signings we made but a good signing up front would of really been the icing on the cake that we needed, to really say "Hrthame". Instead you see a general ksenera among our fans.

MykinesFC
So much for Samaras... Oddly the Birmingham Mail (the local paper that covers the West Midlands teams including West Brom) listed Sami yesterday as having departed for AEK: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rondon-arrives-mulumbu-departs-full-9517342
Dava-G
Samaras plays better as a wide attacking forward. He is not the striker we are looking for. Besides, he did not attend a preseason, his time in Saudi was mixed because of injury and I'm not sure how hard he is staying in shape right now. Original Sydney
The question with Samaras for us is can he make a difference for us? I personally think he can
Dikefale11
Well its done and dusted now we're not getting him. Lets hope it doesnt cost us in the long run that we're short up front.
CHE21QNS
Just wanted to mention this. Lafferty on a scoring spree and Berbatov basically paid for himself through shirt sales+ sponsorship deals (I'm sure there were more season ticket sales too) within the first week of getting to PAOK. If you get stingy you make these mistakes.
Original Sydney
Che i said Berba would pay us back in shirt sales don't understand why they didn't fork out the money and get him, the guy would've lifted everyone around him and filled the stadiums for us even more, big mistake on our part..... Akritis_1944
Original Sydney was ahead of PAOK calling for AEK to sign Berbatov. I assume there was no approach from AEK though.
Original Sydney
Apparently Dellas wanted him Akritis but when you look at what we have spent this season ($160k) you cant see them spending $1.5 mill on Berba, personally I think if we did get him we would've been hot favourites to contest the title as he was the last piece in our puzzle......
CHE21QNS
Pretty much, you had the chance to go all the way and you skimped right at the end....Stupid stingy move that int he end paid for itself leaving us looking like idiots.
Original Sydney
We need a striker what we have just doesn't cut it unless Djebbour comes back and starts firing. I would like to see what Brecevic can offer but cant see him coming back anytime soon either
Ethnikos
You guys should get Mattheos Maroukakis. The guy's a tank, and scores some crackers. Been in excellent form since joining Larissa from Panachaiki Edited October 11, 2015 by Ethnikos
