Paschalakis starts over Zivkovic for a 2nd straight game in the league, I'm not sure what the logic is given how rusty Pasxa looked against Lamia. Our best midfield starts tonight as well. Starting eleven: --------------Paschalakis Rodrigo-----Ingason-----Michailidis----Giannoulis ----------Schwab--Augusto---El Kaddouri Zivkovic-------Swiderski-------Tzolis

Reports coming out now that Jaba's trip to Brazil was approved by Rebbe and PAOK for him to rehab an apparent knee injury... go figure ?♂️

It's far too early to judge Garcia, who is learning on the job. He has had made mistakes but that doesn't mean he needs to be sacked. It has been discussed here plenty of times before, until the revolving door of managers stops we'll be doomed to repeat the same pattern over and over again.

Leo Jaba up and left from Thessaloniki, apparently without permission from the team and is on his way back to Brazil. I don't know what has happened with him, if you believe the rumours he began to frequent bars and enjoy the Thessaloniki night life a little too much. It seems these stories surface about every player who flops with us, so I don't really put too much stock into those stories. Whatever the truth is, I really think he could've been useful this season now that he's fully fit even if it was off the bench.

He lost his spot up until 2-3 games ago, he played a cup game on the weekend (which they lost) and obviously today against Milan. Reading around some Celtic fans seem to think he has been treated unfairly and not given a fair go at establishing himself as their no.1. They seem to think he conceded a goal that he should've done better on against Rangers and that is sacrilegious in Scotland. Celtic lost that game and Barkas only lasted another game or 2 before being dropped. It's not going well for him at all, confidence is everything as a GK and currently Barkas has none. I'm not sure if Celtic under it's current management will ever be the place for him.

Augusto is suspended. But it does raise an interesting point on who will be our third midfielder. El-Kaddouri and Schwab are locks to start, I hope the other mid isn't Esiti. He wasn't given the start in Eindhoven which was the perfect match for him, he shouldn't be starting a game like this. It could be Tsiggaras, also a chance Garcia goes with a no.10 given Omonoia will sit deep so Murg is in with a shout. Unlikely IMO that Ninua will get the nod. If Giannoulis isn't fit enough to start I'd say we'll go with Rodrigo or Lyratzis at left back with Giannoulis coming off the bench if we still need a goal.

The "pure Greek" argument I find ridiculous, National Teams all over the world have players who aren't ethnically from that country or who are immigrants themselves. Don't see why Greece, given we have such a small talent pool to select from wouldn't be extending their reach and trying to pick up a few players who are eligible to play @Boxou

Really? I can't say I've ever seen anyone on these forums state he wouldn't be a welcome addition. Maybe one or two but the majority want him to get his citizenship. I hope this gets done sooner rather than later and he's eligible to play when the WC qualifiers kick off in March. Right back is one of our problem areas and someone who has been a starter in the Premier League for the last season and a half would absolutely be an upgrade on anyone we have atm.

Trust you to still use VHS re pash

Fair to say I won't be buying the DVD of that match, but we take the 3 points and move on to a massive European game midweek.
-
Michailidis has been very good today IMO
-
Reminiscent of the 2018 cup final where he anticipated the keeper taking a step and smashed it to the side the keeper was covering.

2-0 Vierinha!!

Twice now Paschalakis has dropped simple enough crosses and completely lost them. Lucky not to concede then, he's gonna cost with these errors.
-
GOAL! Tzolis! Lovely play from El Kaddouri and Wague

All these changes is giving me vibes of the Volos game earlier in the season. Should still be good enough to get the win

LOL showing my lack of geographic knowledge there for sure! When I visited San Sebastian it did not strike me as a big city but I did spend most of my few days there on the beach ? I had no idea Real Sociedad was from there, I apologize and thank you for correcting me @Dutch Eagle

Hopefully it was a planned sub given it was on the hour mark and it was his first game back after sometime
-
Back in the XI today for Stuttgart after his latest injury lay-off, currently they trail Bayern 1-2 after leading 1-0 in the first half. Hopefully he gets through this game unscathed and can get a run of matches together heading into the qualifiers in March.
-
Yep it'll be Crespo at left-back no doubt. This is the type of game Tzolis should start, he'll find plenty of space when we break on the counter. Hopefully Augusto is fit enough to start, our best midfield is him alongside El-Kaddouri and Schwab. If they deem him not fit enough I actually don't mind Esiti starting in this game. PSV will have the majority of the ball which suits a player of Esiti's style.

Below is a link to JVS speaking about Fortounis and explaining how he was able to take advice on board and showed improvement in his problem areas over the last few games. https://www.novasports.gr/podosfairo/super-league-1/article/1843773/fant-sxip-epelexa-na-doso-xrono-ston-fortouni-vid Based on how JVS praised him, I'd say there's a good chance he's a starter come the Qualifiers in March.
