  1. I'm pretty sure Augusto was training fully for about 10 or say days prior the current international break. So you'd think come next weekend he'd be in a position to play if needed, he'll be important to our depth.
  2. Meh it's a friendly, plenty of changes were made and there will be plenty more made ahead of the nations league matches. Giannoulis, Xatzidiakos, Pavlidis, Bakakis (if fit) and one of Vlaho/Barkas will come in for a start. There could be more changes beyond that. He tried some new players, something he hasn't had a chance to do since he took over as this was our first friendly in that time. I'm surprised he didn't give Rota any minutes, I mean if you don't trust him at all why have him in the squad? He was literally the only fit right back in the squad, even if JVS was "saving" him for NL you would think he'd give Rota a taste off the bench in a friendly. Instead he shoehorned Lampropoulos in there, doesn't make any sense to me. But jeez an average performance in a friendly and people start calling for Sokratis and Manolas to return, after everything we've been through these past 18 or so months. Just gives you a little snapshot of what you're up against in Greece trying to build something.
  3. Apparently Mauricio rejected our latest offer of around 400k a year. They seem to be saying that him knocking back the offer doesn't mean it's over and we'll be back at the negotiation table with him. For what it's worth I don't really want him back, he's missed the whole pre-season and early part of the season chasing a 1 million + contract that doesn't seem to exist. Move on from him, if we keep playing a 5-2-3 we only play with 2 central mids anyway, we currently have 4 it's enough until January. Unless there is a change of system incoming then I don't really think we need a 5th central midfielder.
  4. PSV have signed former Dortmund and Bayern player Mario Gotze. Esiti will eat him when we play them
  5. He's been loaned to Saint-Etienne for the season with a 6.5 Million Euro option to buy. Let's hope for a big year from him, he's been in the wilderness for the past 2 seasons with being injured and falling out of favour. He's only played 7 games at club level over that period, so it's hugely important for him to stay fit and cement himself in the starting XI. We don't want him turning into another Kpaps.
  6. No Pelkas or Bakakis for this match, Pelkas is in Turkey finalising his transfer to Fenerbache and Bakakis is carrying a slight injury. Both are expected to be available for the Nations League matches. On the other hand Masouras is out all together with an injury, he won't be replaced as JVS has already called up a large squad.
  7. Tsitsipas disposes of Dimitrov in straight sets 6-3, 7-6 and 6-2. This is only the 2nd time in his career he's reached a Grand Slam Quarter Final (after the Aus Open'19) Next up for him is the Russian 13th seed Rublev, who beat Tsitispas last week in the Hamburg open final. Stefanos was in that match and served for the match at one point so he's in with a good chance.
  8. Apparently we are very close to signing Austrian Thomas Murg as a Pelkas replacement, he is a former teammate of Schwab at Rapid Vienna. He's a winger/attacking midfielder and has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 league games so far this season.
  9. Did anyone else's PAOKTV cut out? I can still access the site and all that but when I click play on the game nothing is happening.
  10. Put Alanyaspor 1-0 up today, as they ran out 6-0 winners. Tzavellas and Siopis also started alongside him. It's been reported Fenerbache are going to make another offer to try sign him. We'll see what happens.
  11. Pavlidis put Willem 1-0 up, unfortunately it was all down hill for them from then on as they ran out 1-4 losers to Feyenoord
  12. A goal and an assist to half time for Fountas, Rapid lead LASK 2-0
  13. OFI have settled now and are having more of the ball, they look decent in possession but not so when they don't have the ball. There are plenty of goals in this game @Dutch Eagle yeah I get that too, was wondering what it was. I'd assume what you said some sort of code
  14. I'm not mad that Matos is back in the starting XI I'm just puzzled trying to figure out Ferreira... Anyway good team, they should be good for a couple of goals. Let's see if we can remedy our scoring woes.
  15. Started Colak and begun the 2nd half with the same intensity we had in the 1st.
  16. Just on European competition and how it used to be, I really think it was football in it's purest form. All domestic Champions in a knockout format and all Cup winners in a knockout format. It adds so much more meaning to domestic cups, which most big clubs don't take serious around Europe. I know it will never go back, there is too many big teams that UEFA wants in Europe and too much money would be lost by having only one of Real Madrid or Barca in the Champions League but I think it would be cool to revisit. I never got to see the old school format, maybe it's just a case of the grass seems greener. And there was obviously issues, you'd get the champions of Belarus getting hammered over 2 legs by Juventus but hey if you really want a Champions League full of domestic champions then that's what it should be.
  17. Tricky draw IMO. Simply must pick up 6 points against Omonia but they won't be easy matches. If you get 6 from those games you give yourself a fighting chance. Granada although not a big traditional team in Europe will still be tough. @Bananas read it here https://www.sport24.gr/football/vathmologia-uefa-paremeine-sti-17i-thesi-i-ellada.9004961.html
  18. I believe the golden spot is 15, where you get 2 spots in the Champions league, one in the Europa and 2 in the Conference league. 15. Κύπρος 27.000 1/4 16. Σερβία 24.250 1/4 17. Ελβετία 23.475 1/4 18. Ελλάδα 23.400 3/5 19. Κροατία 22.275 2/5 20. Τσέχια 21.600 3/5 So looking at the rankings, it's not impossible to get to 15 this year given the countries above us only have one representative left, which would give Greece 2 spots in the Champions League for season 22-23. Obviously need all 3 Greek teams to do well and hopefully advance beyond the group stage as to collect max points.
  19. Looks like Vagiannidis is on his way to Belgium and Sint Truidense for a season long loan from Inter. Not overly surprising hopefully the kid is a starter in Belgium and gets some minutes under his belt! Lord knows we need right backs. https://www.sport24.gr/football/inter-daneikos-sti-sint-troyinten-o-vagiannidis.9004540.html
  20. I got Leverkusen, Dinamo Zagreb and Zorya (from the Ukraine). So I guess since we both got Leverkusen it means it's a lock to happen? I wouldn't mind the above group, there are easier teams in pot 1 but you generally have the powerhouse that sweeps the group and we battle away for the 2nd place.
  21. Well colour me surprised, Tzavellas has been called up. 26 players called as we are playing a friendly against Austria before the Nations Leagues games. So it'll be 3 games in 7 days, I'd expect to see pretty big rotation and JVS to start some of the guys he hasn't been playing in the friendly.
  22. D-day this is it. Massive chance to make history in just under 12 hours. Reports are saying Abel is going to stick with the same XI that played in Russia last week. So a front 3 of Tzolis, Zivkovic and Pelkas with Colak coming off the bench if we need a goal.
  23. First time in his career coming from 2 sets down to win I believe! Sakkari plays her 2nd round match later today.
  24. @pash Yeah I got approved a few hours ago, so I WIN
  25. Nah I wouldn't worry about Tzavellas getting called up can't see that happening, he's part of the "you don't like my friend so I don't like you squad." Svarnas, Xatzidiakos, Michalidis are locks to be called. Even though most aren't fans Lambropoulos will also probably get the call. Kyriakopoulos will provide cover to the CB's also, I believe he has occassionaly played there for Sassuolo and JVS has showed he ain't afraid to play left backs at center back so it wouldn't shock me. Svarnas and Chatzidiakos will probably start. If they don't wanna play Chatzi in both games as he's just returning to full fitness one of the others will take his spot in one of the games.
