Nah, If we end up in a tournament and awaiting who our POT 1 competition is gonna be, out of the current teams Id choose Argentina over all. Poor defence that anyone can score against. Just like us they can't seem to find a decent Holding midfielder, most of their defenders are either South America tier or barely/not playing for their clubs. England is another Tier 1 team anyone would be lucky to have. Uruguay,Portugal,Croatia and Chile are not bad draws either. Germany,France,Belgium,Brazil, Italy, Colombia they re all simply too much for a team of our calibre. Just realised that out of 32 teams, 12(aka all the teams I mentioned) are too hard to get result from. Both in WC 2010 and in WC 2014 we were lucky to draw teams from Africa and Asia. Whew

I agree with everyone about Retsos( I even said he s a good duo with Botia - we haven't seen a good CB duo since 2011-12 maybe?). Honestly I think both Manthatis and Elyounoussi looked poor on the match however. Might be the fact that Besiktas closed the wings well, because Manthatis sure is young , he could be off by a better oppponent easily, but Elyounoussi I am not used to him not appearing at all at a big match. Ansarifard is a huge player. Even some movements he did off the ball, that our midfielders couldn't cope with, prove it. Not to mention his on point-assist. This score leaves qualification open, but honestly, we have no chance. I now understand why Tzavellas is making a huge impact in Turkey. Their defenders are T E R R I B L E. Besiktas is nothing. It's only their mentality that's gonna crush us next week.

After recent Greek results I don't understand how a Panionios player can't be called in the squad, but a player of AEK can. Panionios made it in the play offs last season as well, currently being the only challenge for Olympiakos. When it comes to big matches this season: Won Olympiakos. Drew Panathinaikos Won Xanthi Drew Aek I seriously don't understand how a player of AEK , a team with no Europe for the last 3 years has anything better to offer than a solid key player of Panionios. To be more specific, I am talking about Bakasetas instead of Siopis. Stafylidis being used at Bundesliga as a Winger/Wingerback/Left Midfielder as well, gives us more options (only option in my humble opinion) on the Left Wing. Gianniotas on form as well. Of course can't use Siopis for a big match but he deserves the call up. 4-5-1 would be my formation as well against Belgium Toro-Manolas-Sokratis-Tzavellas Gianniotas -Samaris - Tachtsidis - Stafylidis Fortounis Mitroglou

Welcome. I believe most of your possible call ups in the midfield are more suitable than Maniatis. I think picking Stafylidis up front and Tzavellas on the back is the safest option, considering we re playing an offensive powerhouse.

Draw was not bad, but not good either. We avoided the big teams Thinking on the long term: United drew Rostov Schalke drew Gladbach Lyon drew Roma 3 of the 6 unbeatable (realistically) teams of Europa will be kicked out in this Round, so if for some reason we make a miracle and get past Besiktas the chances in the next round are in our favor to get a decent draw. if we go by 3rd best keeper its gonna be the loanie of oly to panionios. he s done some decent saves but his defenders are very good, so stats can only tlak about defensive mechanism and not goalkeeper himself. thats why I believe this Lambrou guy deserves a call-up, coz Netherlands defenders are some puppets to fill the starting 11.

a team's defensive mechanism is a matter of offense. otamendi, rojo , biglia , garay are nothing close to the level of Sokratis and Manolas to be fair , i doubt this biglia guy is any better than Samaris or even Tachtsidis, and im not saying this to boost tachtsidis, but trying to point out that the current starter defensive midfielder of Argentina is nothing superior to what our a-b choices are. yet, despite the fact that we have better indifiduals in defensive positions, i doubt Argentina concedes more than us. They have a lot more talent in midfield and offence that helps them keep the ball more, sell it in fewer occasion per match and not expect their defence to do all the dirty work, like our defence did vs Bosnia. You simply can't put statistics on a player based on a whole team's performance. I ve said this before and here goes again. Sokratis team on the front is a bunch of 19 year olds Pulisic ,Mor , Dembele , Weigl. These guys have no experience and probably don't even think that whenever they try something risky they will probably put their defence at a risk. *I don't understand why people bash sokratis so much for the Mitroglou goal. The GK could have done a lot better and that was probably what papa had in mind. Torosidis still has 1-2 years to offer and Mavrias has been playing as a Right Winger Back for some time. Iraklis isnt the same team he was at first round. out of 14 points iraklis has, half of them , aka 7 , have been obtained in the last 6 matches, 4 draws 1 win 1 defeat (from olympiakos). lots of changes in the climate and the roster of iraklis occured during january in order to save the club, and they did pretty well. im pretty sure if we checked the 2nd round standings, Iraklis would be in the top 10.

i hope villafanez gets picked. he is the only player who can anastisei this dead panathinaikos, and obviously, he has his days. he is the fortounis of pao, and he can also play on the wings. really hope so.
