  1. NO... I am saying the system allowed for mothers with 4-5 kids to claim a generous pension for life...regardless if their kids had migrated or not.... or an unmarried female is/was? allowed to claim her fathers pension....as long as she 'never married'
  2. SAMARAS???????????
  3. god forbid if Greece has a system that assists major projects and infrastructure? one would think there was no need to create opportunity for JOBS and investment...Unemployment is only at 26%...so no urgency...........................................................................
  4. that's right he only left Bologna when they went down......no point playing Serie B...at his age and his 'market reputation' he was good at Udinese....over his career he seems to carry a lot of injuries.....and break down for a fit strong young player... He may still make it at Fiorentina? or we may see him move in the summer.....the move was not the end of the world....still only 28
  5. No...this is not 'data matching issues'..... these were/are legitimate pensions....
  6. generous and odd pensions.. I am referring to real examples of family that I know of... A female gets a pension for 'having 5 kids' even though her kids migrated to USA/Aus 40 years earlier.. A female receives a portion of her late fathers pension..because she remains 'unmarried'....(even though she lives in a defacto relationship). there are or at least were until very recently a lot of these types of 'pension arrangements'....
  7. I wonder what tsipra would say privately about N17 and Xiros?? it's this 'freedom fighter' mentality that has dogged Greece for 40 years...
  8. I assume that would be a similar version to our superannuation contribution.... not the pension.... there some very odd and generous 'pension allowances in greece...
  9. its very painful to describe papazoglou and maniatis as Greek internationals.. On the flip side..I believe sifakis in form is our second best keeper..
  10. they glorify nut jobs like N17... And think A boss underpaying a worker by 1 euro should be jailed..
  11. Fast forward 5 years.....Ban or no ban nothing will change...things will just be worse because of the fall out of the 'disaster' that a grexit will cause..
  12. this is the only thing they have learned and if this is what they will pass to their grandchildren and to the future generations, the future generations are likely to make the same mistakes and lose their own house as well. It is all well and good to be deep and philosophical....great for a University paper.... but most victims in real life find it hard to view life and the world this way.....especially when a lot of decisions are out of your control... I almost got run over by a car last night.....I did everything legally correct when crossing the road....the impact of a collision may have been catastrophic......serious injury or worse...... try explaining the meaning of all this to my 80yo mother or 7yo son??? sometimes the victims loss is too great too contemplate the rest...
  13. sorry.....I was surprised you even mentioned Maniatis......(thought you were being sarcastic about Karelis build) Maniatis has been on the outer with real OSFP fans....for a while I think his destroyer tag comes more with his Syrian beard and strange stare...... unfair to rate his form in Belgium......he left GSL with no club form and a serious knee injury and a poor season prior to that.... I would have been worried if we packaged him off to the Belgians as our most in form GSL star and a midfielder that was the combination of stoltidis/Basinas/ Zagorakis ... The Belgians took a punt on an injured former Greek NT player.... Karelis struggled in Russia.. his build was very similar as a youngster at Ergotelis...I don't think he exploded in that 10 months in the snow..
  14. Iceland and Hungary are poor teams in reality...our players overall domestically or abroad overall play generally at a higher standard,, @aek66 regarding torosodis ...not sure how often you watched him in his last 1-2 years at osfp? he had regressed considerably from his days in 2008-12...I reckon a move to serie A in 2009/10 and roma would have a different product... by 2013 he was not the dominant GSL star with all the bells and whistles... you may argue it was fitness and Greek training? maybe? possibly a factor...but he was 27 ..I put it down to his greek gene in his brain.. I thin Karelis was very average in PAO week in week out..He seems more settled at Genk?
  15. again?? we would not dare question a lot of massacres based on 'detail'...especially in certain host nations where some of us may live... @Ge bekli I totally understand that from a historical context the exact facts are very important and interesting.... especially to a person like yourself... however the massacre and others as such did happen the finer details are yes of historical interest...but in no way diminish the disaster or tragedy or the symbolism....nor does it affect Vasko's view of Delcev.. To you and I the 1974 invasion of Cyprus is of interest from a political and historical point and the details of what went wrong are of historical importance.. to my sons maternal grand parents all that matters is the Turks have their house...
  16. another reason for greece to deflect blame on corporates ???
  17. no $$$ contributions.....it's a system where you essentially collect 'tokens' for time served...
  18. I don't disagree that we are not training hard enough... but our NT players play in Serie A, Bundesliga, Belgium ,Portugal .... and there are other factors why our club results have been less than spectacular... not surprisingly..OSFP has been getting their regular 9,10 pts in UCL for several years..which is good historically for teams of this level....so no drop off even though the bar has been raised. Tripoli showed last season how a well organized club can be very competitive
  19. this is 2016..... we will never like Turks....we know that...alliances with 'xevrakotous' and 'gyftous' even though may have historical or ideological ties are useless.. Neither Armenia or Serbia can harm Turkey... If I need to borrow $100k urgently I know who my 'important' friends who can help are... Russia will fend for themselves and take whatever stance benefits.. The only way we can stand up to Turkey is by getting our house in order and gain respect by the powers that matter... Sorry...to most people Serbia and Armenia sound more like dodgy cough lozenges sold on online pharmacies than serious modern nations..
  20. the european results in part have also been influence by AEK.PAOK.ARIS PAO not spending money...or not having money... and the money being spent by Russia, Turkey and Ukraine has pushed us down the pecking order... Holland coefficient today is on par with us or thereabouts....this has also a lot to with $$$$ on players than training regimes..I doubt the Dutch training would be deficient in the same way GSL clubs would..
  21. 1789 is a poster not a year.... The Bosnia reference was.....perhaps a bit vague...but the point is to me you are targeting Greek history for 100% accuracy... but would you hold others to the same level.....hence my ANZAC comments months ago... Is all American or Italian versions of history more '100%" than Chios? I have always questioned a lot about the 400 years of 'slavery'.... but questioning exact details of a massacre like Chios is basically disrespectful to those who died.... we don't question the 100% accuracy of Nazi atrocities.......there is an element that Greeks are fair game at times.. Does Vasko acknowledge that he and Goce Delcev are not on the same page... Interesting version of the witnesses in Court......I have not told my 7 yo son that Santa is not real yet..or how much money I earn (when he asked me)....... Am I at the same level as OJ Simpson?
  22. there is no brotherhood.... this myth feeds the internet warriors and nut job patriot create web pages and dramatic youtube video drama... I want to know how an alliance or brotherhood with Serbia or Armenia is more beneficial than one with France Spain or Italy? we are delusional ...some Greeks just wish we were Belarus....
  23. Tsipras is in charge....what police? army? the country is being lead by a socialist experiment... this is the stuff we were told in school at 14 by ideological lefty hippie teachers..
  24. I think applying our sense of values and morals to someone like Putin is the issue... as much as our 'expectations' of Putin based on our perceptions of 'christian orthodox alliances'... Russia and Putin cares very little for all these brotherhood myths... Greeks spend too much energy expecting some miracle Savior from East to come...
  25. perhaps you forget he is a corrupt Russian 'Tsar'..... he may not read nor interpret the books the same way a Greek does?
