I strongly believe Modern Greece has done quite well.....if one looks at the 18th or 19th century as a starting point.... a lot of 'what was lost' and 'what should/could have been' is based on romantic misconceptions...If one takes the view that '1453' was unavoidable then we have done well.. the question that can't be answered is what if 1453 did not happen?? my answer is blind and unfounded.....well look at Spain? just for the record.....Ikonomidis Serie B team Salerintana is currently second last in the league...after being promoted last season.... that's a long way from being a 'Lazio player'..... where he plays next season will determine a lot in what Lazio thinks of him...and how they rate him...

Ikonomidis is 21 and playing serie B.....make of that what you wish.......Diamantakos is 23 and playing Bundseliga 2... by my definition....they are therefore both nobodies...and unknowns... The A League has not attracted a lot of quality this season from overseas......a lot of older second division players from Spain....similar recycled garbage that we see at Platanias and Kalloni.....nobodies in the football world.. just look at the way they try and hype up players like the old Hungarians and Serbs.....and the Danish guy at Jets....+ some guys called Castro and Leonardo..etc.... these guys pedigree is very much the journeyman we see by the dozen at Panthrax, Apollon, Veria, Anorthosis,Omonia etc....

I don't think kapino being an osfp player is the reason for his selection.... he is considered the keeper with the biggest upside long term....therefore the thinking is...keep him part of the squad. the only reason he is not playing club football is because of Roberto..... no other reason.. no one knew Barkas 2 months ago.....Dioudis, Vellidis have their critics...

Tzavellas is not a CD.......Paok have had no CD's for many years he filled in there...and has been caught out at times... he is a LB..(a good one) or nothing...

The 2 LB in the same 11. is not a long term option in any formation... regardless how they are 'meant to play'...(Tzavellas/Staf). I did not see the game but..was Tzavellas a third CD? And yes a lack of wingers is a problem...Vlaxodimos is not the answer....he has no football brain..
