I wonder what the club actually makes in terms of revenue. That is, is Savvidis basically supporting the club from his own pocket and by how much ? Or in other words, what is the true, self sufficient, financial state of the club.

Sheez, our wages have gone up! I'd like to know what our wages have been for the last ~10 or so years because even say 3 years ago we didn't have players being paid more than 200K or 300K. Now 500+ for quite a few players.

A shame. There was a period there under "The Angel" (Anastasiadis) where Skondras was killing it. He was even filling in at CB on occasion. For a time there, maybe half a season or so, he was one of the first players you'd put on the team sheet. I always thought his lack of technique was compensated for by his energy and mongrel but other managers never liked him. It is what it is. If we didn't have Matos, I wouldn't be happy with releasing him but Matos is just simply the best RB we've had since I don't know, maybe Borbokis ?

Giorgos Tzavellas ‒ (now playing for AEK)

Are you trying to tell me the wealthy business owners in Greece pay taxes ? Or the 'lao' ? When/if Greece ever breaks the shackles of being 'ruled' by a small number of families, then the country might improve. As for the rich business owners choosing to invest dirty money in football, it's up to them. The fans won't complain ... as long as the ticket prices don't go up. -
His profile on http://www.transfermarkt.com/amr-warda/profil/spieler/237641 shows him as a LW. If you check what position he's played this season it's mostly LW with a bit of AM. Last season he played LW, AM and RW.

Minimum fee release clause in there ? We've been doing it with the majority of our signings in recent times.

Giannakopoulos was a champion. If only we had more like him. -
Looks like two teams advance. You have two tough games, both away, against Lamia (currently 2nd) and Apollon (currently 1st). Will be interesting games!

The only games where we played poorly and were outplayed were against Qarabag. In the GSL we lost to Olympiakos, Panionios, Atromitos and PAO and in none of those games were we outplayed. I'm not saying we deserved to win them but neither did we deserve to lose either. The good signs are that we actually have a stable GK and defence for the first time in ... I can't remember how long. As much as I love Malezas (club man through and through) if we can get another quality CB in the summer we're cruising in defence. Also, Biseswar was so overweight and unfit at the time so that didn't help and Campos had a bad dip in form. The team is creating tons of chances. I pray this new striker is decent, I don't expect wonders but just decent. With a couple of quality summer signings for depth and hopefully the same basic core starting next season, this can be a really good team.

Donis - tactically not quite there. Huub - didn't really want the job once we got knocked out of CL qualifier. Anastasiadis - knows the game and the GSL but is too divisive a personality to really gel the squad (unless they're all Greek). Tudor - knows the game but thought he knew more than he did. Not flexible enough. Ivic - the best of the lot. I'm happy with Ivic also. As far as other attainable coaches go, only Xanthi's coach would be a decent move. Foreign managers I don't trust anymore, especially today why would they want to go to Greece ? Years ago maybe but not now. Ivic also understands the club and the GSL and seems to have a balanced view of winning now vs developing players. I think it would be a massive mistake to not keep him for at least 2 more years. He also gets +1 for getting rid of Tzavellas, Tziolis, Skondras. Keep in mind that the team is playing well. Sure there's been dropped points along the way (when hasn't there been) but overall the core is very good.

You forgot Putin and the KGB. The fact that Hillary was sending emails on a private server, apparently, didn't cost her even one vote. I mean, it was investigated and she was cleared. Cool, no worries Hillary. And what made it even worse was that she knew better. It's not like she was new to politics. She was either arrogant (didn't think she could be touched) or stupid. The baboon and the witch. The choices ...

Hmm, I'll give it miss. Scotch with a dash of coke or dry ginger ale is enough for me. No need to fly to the moon.
-
@aek66 I wonder if Hillary knows why she lost ? Or maybe just living in denial. Or maybe she's surrounded by people that really have no idea. Maybe she hasn't been sleeping well either. She looked a little haggard at the inauguration. Oh well, she can just gives lots of speeches at 250K a pop.

Ha ha, if the question is if Trump is presidential or not, there isn't much doubt of the answer to that. Trump will struggle with many aspects of the presidency. The question is whether he'll bend or break. Will he at some point think "the approach I used to win the presidency doesn't work now that I am the president". Will he bend or will he break. He may be able to bully his way with matters local but with matters international it's a different again. If he stays pig headed, doesn't "build the wall", doesn't deliver for the middle class, he could get absolutely smashed at the next election. Having said that, the Democrats need to get their act together as well. The idea that they should be governing because Trump isn't presidential doesn't cut it for me. They need to show more, a lot more.

Wouldn't it be funny if Olympiakos signed Pereyra.

Gathering at the igloo. Drinks on tantra. Have you changed your no smoking policy yet ?
-
The way Pereyra has been treated by the club is a travesty. He must be watching Klaus and Koulouris week after week thinking he lives in bizarro world that they're getting so much game time. I'm not saying he should be starting all the time but he definitely deserves more minutes that he's gotten.

You say it's wishful thinking. I agree, of the highest order. Note that I'm not a Trump supporter, but was never keen on Hillary either. The metaphor I used for those two often was of a baboon vs a witch. Evidence Trump will change his spots ? None whatsoever. All I'm saying is if he doesn't deliver, he'll be out at the next election. If he does deliver (how can this even be achieved today given the way the world works economically ?) then he's a chance at a second term, crazy as that sounds. His rabid base is not enough to get him over the line. He also needed swing voters and he got them this time because they didn't believe the witch anymore. Realistically ? He's winging it and has no real plan. He's aggressive, vindictive and will probably go down as the worst president in decades. BUT, Trump has proven all his doubters wrong (regardless of that fact that his tactics are considered "distasteful" which is ironic considering this is politics after all) so lets just wait and see. It's already gotten farcical with Trump acting like a child over the attendance numbers at the inauguration. Good lord ...
-
Let's see if Trump can actually deliver on his pledge (does he even believe it ?) to look after the middle class. It'll be interesting if even Republicans are on side on that one. Politically incorrect question: If Trump was assassinated would both Republicans and Democrats Congressman throw a party ?
-
She's just grumpy because she doesn't want to grow old gracefully.
-
Ha ha, well that was a big waste of time. Hopefully the club has other options (I doubt it) since the dealings with Rennes have felt dodgy for a while. They obviously don't want to sell given that they sold another winger recently and will be short that position.

It appears the potential transfer of Skondras to Levski will not go ahead. https://inpaok.com/334774/χάλασε-του-σκόνδρα/

MVP last season. MVP for making trouble every season. Best outcome for everyone. PAOK is free of a trouble maker. Tzavellas gets to play at a league that is a decent level. He can make some decent money and be match fit for the NT, assuming he gets game time of course.
