Unlike Meli, Savvidis hasn't said 100% that he'll be building a new stadium right away and it's not a priority. Also, the fans aren't crying out for a new stadium, although if they got one I'm sure they wouldn't complain. What Savvidis has done is some cosmetic work on Toumba (a few million I believe) and the pitch these days is generally of a very good standard. In the past there were often games where the pitch was of a low standard. Overall the facilities at Toumba these days from the player perspective are very good although the overall look of the stadium is dated.

Can't stand any of those types of shows. So lame. The only crime based series worth watching would be True Detective which was a master piece.
-
Can't we just buy back the country ? I wonder what the figure would have to be to be fair market value.
-
Conspiracy theory incoming --> the Mayor is doing what he is based on Meli's orders because Meli is actually not interested in building the stadium. Now what do you think about that!

Is Berbatov still available ? ;)

True enough. But I think we've almost hit the limit as far as this goes. I don't see anyone else in the current squad except for Cimirot selling for decent profits.

The last position we need to recruit in unless it was an absolutely stellar player who is much better than who we already have. We have Canas, Cimirot, Shakhov, Charisis and I assume Kace as well to fill basically 2 position. It would be nice to have a "Lampardesque" type number 8 that has the right instinct of when to go forward and time his runs (Shakhov did it once against Fiorentina) but that's easier said than done.

I should add, the good thing about the squad is that we don't have to worry about signing a goalkeeper, defenders or midfielders. The club can concentrate on getting attacking players. Having said that, if a quality gk, def or mid becomes available there is nothing wrong with adding depth to those areas. The defense especially lacks quality depth.

Agree Yiankos. The defence and midfield is a very good and solid foundation on which to build the team. It's up front that we are lacking. Having said that I say they are lacking, and yet they are creating 15+ chances per game, so there is definitely something there to work with. But it's rare that all 4 of the attackers are playing a good game. When one is playing well, the other is not etc. If all 4 actually had a good game we would be winning 4-0 most games. For now we must get a number 9, preferably one that is actually a threat in the air. That's my preference anyway.

It took Mak leaving for Gary to wake up and play to his potential. Imagine if both of them were playing at a consistent level and we had a real actual striker. A shame though as Gary was the only player in the team that can really take on teams that don't park the bus and could really hurt them. With him I would've rated our chances of beating Schalke at 25%. With a new striker maybe a bit more. Now, I choose not to think about it, ha ha.

Stoch is a risk not worth taking, the definition of a gamble. Sure if he was doing well in Turkey you can surmise that he's worth the investment but the stats aren't there to warrant such an offer. Now maybe in Greece where you'd expect he'll play 90 minutes most games he may find his mojo and start killing it, or maybe he won't ... and then we're stuck with a player we can't offload. Then again at 27 he could prove to be a glorious signing. Ah, the dilemma. As for Gary, what are the final details of his sale ? Specifically how much went to PAOK and was their a percentage sell-on clause ? -- edit -- P.S. Good luck to Gary ... break a leg ...

Doesn't sound like a good manager. If the numbers quoted were true ie. the 700K per season, his manager should have signed immediately.

We have been researching metagrafes since September and will be ready January 1. m*****es. We won't be selling Gary until we have a suitable replacement. m*****es. I was expecting our squad to be the same with a number 9 added to it. Now we are down Gary and possibly Pereyra. Keep up the good work.

Ean to protathlima einai se korners i se xamenes efkeries, sigoura tha to paroume. Anyway, like you said in another thread, to talk of protathlima when your budget is 1/3 of your rivals is folly. I don't even care about the protathlima as such, I don't look that far ahead. I just look at what is required to get the team playing better. And right now, it's the number 9 position. The Klaus of 2 seasons ago was all right. Now, it's become a joke. Koulouris all right, off the bench na ton psisis. Pereyra is the best of them but obviously not favoured by Ivic for whatever reason. It's probably a good thing we couldn't find a link for this game.

When you have a team (PAOK) who fairly consistently dominates most games but always struggle to score, you can blame the players, you can blame the manager, but that isn't fair. It's obvious our defense and midfield are more than capable. Up front we are lacking. Time for Savvidis to get a real striker.

Ha ha, this game sounds like we could play for a week and we wouldn't score.

That's been the case all season.

Ansarifard is the latest rumour according to inpaok. Is this guy any good ? I guess it's one of those cases where you can't really know until you take the plunge.

If Savvidis really wanted to throw the game, he should have sent the full first team and had them all get "injured" one after the other in the first 10 minutes or so. Would have also made for great entertainment.
-
I'm really curious as to what's happened here. You'd think that Daniilidis would be given a healthy bonus given our lack of injuries compared to last season. Instead OUT!

Fully agree about the 6 months. And based on the precedent set by Skibbe fully agree that waiting out the 6 months or so is probably the best move for Tzavellas. But this is where I said earlier it all depends on Savvidis and if he's prepared to play the long game. It all depends on how PAOK performs (or doesn't). Whether Ivic is still manager in the summer (now wouldn't that be nice, a PAOK manager who lasts a whole season!!). But if by some miracle Ivic is still manager then Tzavellas will know it's time to move on. He can play the mangaki and collect the cash but by that point even he'll concede it's time to move on. Either that or Savvidis has to come out and say from now that whoever the manager is, Tzavellas will still never have a future at PAOK. But if that was the case, he would have said that already ... Who needs Greek Drama TV series when we have PAOK! -- edit -- And I just read this. Please let it be true. http://inpaok.com/332399/παναθηναϊκος-για-τζαβέλλα/
