4 out 4 wins in 10 days. No goals conceded. Poyet couldnt have asked for a better start. Players can now have a good break. I like Poyet. He's old school, a little bit crazy. The real tests are coming in the next Euro qualifiers, but the way team is playing, gives me the belief that we can compete and beat stronger nations. I would love to see this Greece team in Germany in 2024.3 points

Of course the level of the competition isn't that great but I think Poyet is building on the good things JVS began early on, with the difference being that he has adapted the game plan to his players' abilities and not trying to play strictly possession football. He seems to have properly assessed his players and isn't asking for anything from any player that they can't deliver. He is also able read the game well and adapt to in-game situations and to make correct strategy changes and substitutions at the right moment.. I have to say that under Poyet I am starting to see why Bakasetas and Mantalos are usually starting for the NT....really much more substantial play from both compared to playing under the other coaches. This is probably what Skibbe & JVS saw during practice and penciled them in to the starting 11 most games only to disappoint. Imo Mantalos has had 4 of his best appearances for the NT. These 2 are now emerging as leaders on the field (and it's about time). Glad to see Giakoumakis get a goal as he has been sniffing around the past few games but not connecting. I think all the players rated between good to outstanding with my only complaint being that for some strange reason with Bouxalakis (who had a good game) starting, the back-pedaling was a little more pronounced than in the previous games. All in all I don't think we could have asked for more considering the management change.3 points

Biggest jumpers in world rankings this month! In other news, isn’t it so strange how Kosovo is ranked 107? They have some skilled players, and they’re put in between Thailand and India2 points

Fantastic to see 4/4 wins and all of them being clean sheets. Haven’t seen this type of results for a long time. But yet again we were supposed to top this group. League B doesn’t look anything special. We’ve beaten most of these teams in the past. The real test is League A. I still don’t think we are playing our best players but I’m very happy to see 4 wins.2 points

The atmosphere has changed they are starting to learn how to close out games and get the 3 points this was a non factor with this team and previous coaches. The players look like they are plying for each other, they look like they have the passion that’s been missing for years and you can see that when the national anthem was playing with Tsimikas reaction. Even the players on the bench are not stop interacting.. The tide is turning for this team and Poyet is looking like a true coach we’ve been missing. Poyets in game decision making in his short time he’s been here so far is looking spot on he can read the game and the players that don’t have it on a particular night. When was the last time we’ve scored 7 goals and allowed 0 in 4 games played? Man the is the first time in years I’ve been so excited for this team..2 points

I completely agree and its kind of refreshing to hear.. Its more of a style the NT has always been accustomed to playing. There's no point to just keep possession if all the team is doing is back passing majority of the game which we seen a lot in the later days of JVS and lots of times the team just looked uncomfortable and confused at times. I don't wont to get my hopes up as we've seen what's happened in the past but I'm feeling optimistic so far..2 points

I know we played Kosovo Northern Ireland and Cyprus and I’m not trying to overreact, but looking at these League B groups they are not that intimidating at all! Again I say that very cautiously lol but I don’t see why this crop of players can’t crack League A after the next Nations League!1 point

what A goal!!!!’ And that’s why you start Giakoumakis over Pavlidis!!!!1 point

Yes I think it’s 10 a pot so if we finish as top 2 in league C we will be pot 3 (ranked 29/30). If we finish 3rd/4th out of league c winners we will be pot 4 (ranked 31/32).So getting maximum points in our group is important.1 point

An interesting comment from Chatzidiakos in the pre-match press conference about the difference in philosophies between Poyet and JVS. Essientially he said JVS wanted possession, while Poyet places an emphasis on grabbing a goal. Not surprising considering JVS is from the Dutch school of football where possession is everything. The truth is no matter how bad we want to be side that dominates the ball, it's hard to turn professionals into that. What I mean is that the change needs to be done at a lower level and passed on to kids who are currently 12-16. It needs to become a style that kids grow up playing, not one they learn when they are 24 and have been professional footballers for 6 years already. Poyet's style of grabbing a goal probably suits the NT currently and fits more with the current Greek footballing landscape. So we may see more success with him at the helm with this current crop of players. It's just an interesting comparison and does raise the question of footballing philosophy. The quote in full: Για το τι έχει αλλάξει με τον Πογέτ: "Ο Πογέτ προσπαθεί να μας δώσει το winning mentality. Αυτό έχει αλλάξει περισσότερο. Με τον Φαν Σιπ παίζαμε περισσότερο με κατοχή, τώρα παίζουμε για να βάλουμε γκολ και όχι να κρατήσουμε την μπάλα".1 point
