Μια σημαντική διαφορά συγκριτικά με το πρώτο παιχνίδι (με τη Λαμία) είναι ότι με ΑΕΛ ο διαιτητής σφύριζε συνεχώς και δεν άφηνε τις ομάδες (και κυρίως τον Άρη που είχε την κατοχή) να πάρουν ρυθμό. Στη Λαμία η διαιτησία ήταν πολύ καλή και αυτό βοήθησε στο να γίνει θεαματικό παιχνίδι.

I do miss the old competitions and formats. Especially the randomness of it where it was knock out from round 1 and you could get big teams playing each other at any stage. Alas, it is what it is, or rather, it was what it was. It’ll never come back. The new formats with groups is nice too, as it guarantees 6 games which for a lot of teams is a big deal.

That is correct. But I suggest you re read what I said. I never said they were comparable. I meant it as in when Karagounis and Katsouranis played they were the older experienced players that contributed more and still had something to give. Tziolis has nothing of substance to give and Tzavellas is a has been. We might as well mark Sokratis, Torosidis and Karnezis as the experienced players and and give the younger more talented players a chance instead of Tziolis and Tzavellas.

You cannot compare Karagounis & Katsouranis to Tziolis and Tzavellas those were two great footballers who played instrumental roles in Greece winning the European Championship along with there many other accomplishments with the Ethniki and at there respective clubs.

UEFA should have never cancelled the Cup Winners Cup. Real cup competition with teams that actually won cups taking part.

The only team that should be deducted points is Panionios. Apparently their security failed to stop people from bringing in illegal items into a stadium. Also each team is supposed to have cameras installed and they should have no problem finding the person that shot the flare. Will they find him? I predict that they will not. Not only that, Panionios official today on Thessaloniki radio station claimed that at halftime they opened the gates so anybody could enter the stadium!!!
