  1. Reported starting lineup: Mitroglou Holebas - Fortounis - Karelis Samaris - Mantalos Stafylidis - Sokratis - Manolas - Torosidis Karnezis I like this lineup a lot, probably our best atm, although I'd love to see K Papadopoulos in there with a 3 CB formation.

  2. How players like tziolis got a call up but ninis didnt is beyond me. I understand when some say it's only been a few games in the Belgian league but that's why you call him up now to see how he has improved on international level with a friendly against the Netherlands and wcq against Gibraltar which might as well be a friendly. I want to see the creativity with fortounis, mantalos and ninis on the feild

  3. Take what deal? There was no deal. He didn't want to come to Greece for obvious reasons. He had no intentions of coming to Greece. I'd even bet he'd take less money to NOT come to Greece. Super League is a 3rd Tier league in Europe. Players come to Greece as a stepping stone to a 2nd or 1st tier team, OR as a last stop before retirement. There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part that's what it is. You don't come to Super League when there are other offers on the table unless (like the ARAB and CHINESE league) you get grossly overpaid...or you're going to Oly with Champions League play guaranteed (even though it looks like those days are also close to over).

  4. I think it would be a good time to focus on other things besides the pig sty that is Greek football and think of better times, I think this guy deserves his own thread. Not sure if any of you ever seen it but nice video on him and shows most if not all of his goals The Prodigal Son.

  5. Hello mods, admins and members. I found this site through google. I typed in the google search engine "Greek football forums'...and I found Phantis. I went through it and i found interesting. I live in Sydney, Australia from a Greek background. I love my sports in general. I support Olympiacos, Ethniki , Liverpool, Socceroos, Western Sydney Wanderers (A-League) and Manly Sea Eagles (NRL). I opened up a page on Facebook (a closed group). The page is called .... Greek Sports (ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ ΑΘΛΗΤΙΚΑ). Regardless if you're a Γαυρο, Βαζελο, ΠΑΟΚι, ΑΕΚτζη or whatever, I'm looking forward to enjoy my stay and share my opinions with you which will be great fun. Have a great day and all the best !!!!

  6. I do believe if debt relief can come not joking the return of aris and another decent club we will see a another improvement on transfers next year. Obviously the crisis has affected greek football but i do believe we hit the bottom and the rise is coming.

  7. I just don't want to watch you two tear yourselves apart, when I know what you really want is to hug it out.

  8. Pash, aren't there some τσουτσούλια that require you attention somewhere? This isn't an argument. It's a conversation.

  9. All those guys are paixtakia. They may look good when when surrounded by decent players but when their respective teams are struggling, they can't do much. Just consider fortounis and his current performances. Embarrassing that people in the media actually compare him to legends, mind you i do not expect these people that make these ludicrous statements to have sound football knowledge as the guys that hire them are clueless themselves.

  10. 3rd Tier- As in: 1st Tier Leagues in Europe: Spain, England, Germany, Italy, France 2nd Tier: Russia, Portugal, Ukraine, Turkey, Netherlands 3rd Tier: Greece, Croatia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Israel That's just off the top of my head, and of course it is my opinion. There isn't an "Official" Tier system. Do you disagree? Or is Super league on par with Portugal, Turkey, Russia etc? If so, why is it a no brainer for a player to leave Greece to go to Benfica, Porta, Zenit CSKA, Galata, Fener, Ajax etc?? Is the concept of Greece being 3rd Tier, in the above context, really that laughable?

  11. The black professor chimes in: the fact that I made it or that we have a black president doesn't mean that racism and discrimination aren't still powerful sources in the US. In a polisci class the discussion about civil rights and protests is an important one. Political speech takes many forms; it's not only oral. I may not burn the US flag in anger or protest, but I surely defend the right of anyone to do it. (their own flag and in a safe way). The flag and the national anthem are symbols which represent rights and freedoms, including the right to dissent. Sometimes stunts like this one are necessary to provoke a society to deal with an important issue. Black athletes raised their fists at Olympics medal ceremony while the US anthem was playing. American soldiers through their valor medals over the White House fence and even burned American flags.

  12. After beating A#a* with his team last week in the Arena with 1-2 with a good performance Lamprou had his first clean sheet of the season drawing 0-0 with Roda JC (of trainer Yannis Anastasiou).

  13. Obviously some ignorant people in here are not aware of the fact that more illegal immigrants have been deported under the Obama administration than any other administration in the history of the US. Instead they shout one-liners like little parrots. And just in case you long for the past, here are some fond (for you) memories.
