I will take nothing away from the other 5 medals, this one is probably the sweetest one of all! All that work, determination, sweat, blood, tears! She really had to focus hard on every attempt. It wasn't the prettiest way to finish, but she got it done.
Amazing job by Ekaterini, pole vault gold is a massive achievement. Was so nerving to watch, I was sure the American had cleared 1,90 for a second. I'm so happy for her, a lot of people had high hopes and she was able to make her country proud.
This olympic games must be Greece's best sporting tournament for a while now.
Drifting in and out of the play is fine. The history of football is littered with geniuses who did nothing for entire games but when they were involved tore them apart. This is not Pelkas. He makes too many stupid decisions. He moves well and he has some tricks but when you need someone to make a move count, this kid is not it.
That's not to say his decision making won't develop with experience, but he should be getting it somewhere he can play 30 times a year, whether it's on loan in B' ethniki or elsewhere.
The only Greek athletes left are the one from Men's Marathon and Mountain Bike Cycling. And I think there is a Greek team all-around rhythmic gymnastics. Chances of winning a seventh? No lol
I would be keeping Kace as depth tbh about a month ago we had far too many players in center mid and now we are starting to look a little thin if you ask me. Also given our poor track record with injuries I feel we are playing with fire. Keep Kace. have Cimirot/Canas as your starters, Xarisi next in line and then you have Kace for cover. Assuming we play some games with a no.10 as well (biserwar/pelka/mysta) then I think we should be okay with the 4 of them
WTF?? Am I in virtual reality world right now??
Are you going to tell me that that the quality of life is better for an AVERAGE Greek than it is for an AVERAGE Canadian or American???
Am I taking crazy pills or something??
There are DOCTORS and PhD level scientists that have resulted to waiting tables and selling hot dogs to pay the bills in Greece b/c there are no jobs in Greece and the government wont' pay them what they are deserved which is why all the youth who gets an education is LEAVING the country.... Take this from a physician (in the US) who considered for a split second of going to Greece
What is left are the bums that sit around the cafes all day philosphising about how "bad" the EU has it for them...
At the end of the day.. Greece is in a terrible state of affairs because the people elected opted a corrupt system which economically destroyed the country which makes it UNINHABITABLE for the general folk
Greece is a TERRIFIC country if you got money...
If you got money, Greece is a PARADISE.... beautiful people... great weather... great scenery... layback life style... lots of rich history
But for the "average Joe"... Greece has EXTREMELY little to to offer....
As I get older and amass more money... then Greece will become a potential spot to live out the rest of my life... until then... its no more than a vacation destination
Having Canas partner Cimirot in the midfield is an improvement no doubt. However, getting rid of both Kace and Tziolis is a big mistake as it leaves us without cover in that position when injuries and cards arise. Would have thought keeping Kace was a viable option. I do not rate Xarisi, he tries hard but makes way too many mistakes.
