Ziaka
The draw for the European section qualification process for the 2006 World Cup will take place on December 5, 2003 in Frankfurt at 17:05 CET. Out of the 52 members, 51 are entered for the quaification process. The host Germany qualify automatically. The 51 teams will be drawn into 8 groups (3 groups of 7 teams, and 5 groups of 6 teams). England, France, Italy and Spain will be drawn into 6-team groups, since club teams from those countries are involved in more international competitions. The winners of the 8 groups and the 2 best 2nd plac ed teams qualify directly to the World Cup. The other 6 2nd placed teams will play in a play-off format (home and away basis) to determine the remaining 3 qualifiers. The 51 countries were ranked into 7 pots based on the results in the qualifying competitions for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and on Euro 2004 qualifying competition. Here are the 7 pots and the team seeding. Pot A are the strongest seeded teams, and pot G are the weakest: POT A France Portugal Sweden Czech Republic Spain Italy England Turkey POT B Holland Croatia Belgium Denmark Russia Ireland Republic Slovenia Poland POT C Bulgaria Romania Scotland Serbia & Montenegro Switzerland Greece Slovakia Austria POT D Ukraine Iceland Finland Norway Israel Bosnia-Hercegovina Latvia Wales POT E Hungary Georgia Belarus Cyprus Estonia Northern Ireland Lithuania FYROM POT F Albania Armenia Moldova Azerbaijan Faroe Islands Malta San Marino Liechtenstein POT G Andorra Luxembourg Kazakhstan

UEFA has nothing to do with this. Go to FIFA's web site. I don'tr know if they will have live audio though. FIFA Official web site

The2ndMouse
Welcome I think that since this if based on FIFA and Not UEFA rankings, the last World Cup qualification by Slovenia must have earned them more points
Ziaka
If you notice in the opening thread, the rankings are based on the qualifying competition for the 2002 WC as well as qualifying competition for the Euro 2004.

Ziaka
Not a bad group. We finally meet Turkey for an official competition, and get to re-visit Ukraine. Also we meet kazakhstan for the first time ever and travel to neighboring Albania. Finally we can settle an old score with Denmark.

Evergreen
I wanted Turkey and got them, but i would have rather got someone than Albania(they always raise themselves against Greece and have caused great damage in the past) and maybe Georgia. I think the Danes are really strong +we have a terrible tradition against them. Anyway, could have been worse. The is no definate team that will take 1st place in our group..
