Its been all over the news here - thing is once something like this happens in football (including the Inter- AC Milan; Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer; we had anotehr incident between a serb team and croat team; Juve vs Liverpool) the australians make it huge in the media to put football down - its just another way they employ to promote the other football code AFL - one piece of news i did hear from a mate that did go to the game (i had indoor soccer semi finals and i couldnt make it Gamoto) is that the Slavs had a Greek flag in red and yellow and their own flag as well which just blew things over the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :gr: :box: I dont have a good feeling about this as I think this incident can just put the officials over the line - i heard the chief police comissioner today say that they (police and otehr governing officials) have just about had enough and cant find a solution and are contemplating doing all games behind closed doors which would pretty much seal the fate of soccer in this state (Victoria - Melbourne) but who knows Punishment will be very very harsh this time round!!! Things were fine with some chanting and the usual verginia stuff, but they pulled out the greek flag in red/yellow and with that about 40-50 of us charged the baracade and went to have a crack at them. We got through the baracade and were met with a wall of cops. Then we ended up fighting wth them. There were many other incidents that happened and I could go on forever.....let me know if you want more details. Adonis, please dont post the pics yet. Original Melbourne 21 Posted April 19, 2005 Share Posted April 19, 2005 Basically me and a mate were going from the MCG to BJS and on the way we got a call that one of our Aussie boys got abused....it was 20 on 1 and they were spitting and throwing bottles at him. One blockhead had the deceny to say Mate just run.... So we walked down some backstreets and got in the ground fine. We moved to out spot and for the first 30 minutes before the game it was fine...just chanting. Then THAT shmaia came out. The minute that happened.....things lost control. About 60 of us charged.....there were baracades blocking the two supporters with two empty bays....so we knocked them over and made our way forward. The cops quickly jumped in between and the throwing started. Eventually they pushed us back but then they arrested one guy so as they tried to escort him....that was it. All in....the cops copped it as we tried to pull the guy away but then we just copped 3ulo with those batons....the cops cleaned us up and took him out. Any flag we had they took down straight away adn we had cops hassling us all game, but they were allowed to have flags up all day. The next story would be from half-time.... panatha_boy Posted April 19, 2005 Share Posted April 19, 2005 i was at the game also. when i saw that flag, i freaked. i must admit, they got us good. we had nothing to beat that. i liked the "BULGARIANS GO HOME" banner, but they still had us. its a shame now that we cant go there and watch the game, as they have banned all spectators from the grounds, for everygame that will be played between them. also, south has now lost its chance to be promoted into the A-league because of crowd trouble. but think about it, we wont have any rivals in the A-league. who would we have? QLD Roar? :LOL: what really made the night worse though, is that we lost 1-0. that was the only bad part. we should have put that header away. it would be nice to get some pucs or vids up. i would put some up, because i have some pics on my phone, but i dont have a data cable, because they havent made any for my phone :tdown: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Makedon-alds? :o guys its not the bulgarians doing this its MCDONALDS CORPORATION!!!! they brainswashed poor skopians into thinking they are macedonians, to set up their market in europe!!!!!! anyways- if i saw a bunch of idiots making ignorant and offensive s%$#! like that down the street i would have no objection to charging them, so i dont see a reason not to do so in a football match.
