Olympiakos - Newcastle

I can accept a bad game, a defeat, but not giving up and taking out the offense and maybe sending the youth team to England

I want my team to say goodby to Europe standing up!!!

With Bajevic it iseems impossible

The last evening debackle is a normal sequense of the Kastoria game

Sparing healthy players and playing injured ones

Bajevic wanted Rivaldo to save his ass, and Ribbo sure wanted to do it in Europe. but injury is injury he aught to be reserved on the bench and enter in the second half if needed, not vice versa

Now you will not have him recovered to the leage game. Europe is lost, and I am sure I am not the only fan that shed tears today

I want the full team at Newcastle and die standing up with dignity and no white flags and sending the young ones to the lions

And of course no specialists to help them recover from the shame ~In Greece still some people think that pcycologist is for crazy ??

In the NBA they do not think so

You may note that i did not even mentiond the so called refferree

Bad referee is like bad weather , we can not do anything about it

But it is not the same Oly which we have seen lately and the one that beat Liverpool and Monako and of course PAO and gave us the "jogo bonito" against Paok at home

And I see bajevic responsible beside some bad luck , injuries and suspensions

The team lost his spirit.

It can still be recovered, but not with Bajevic, and it is too late to find somebody else

Missing: the spirit of Oly, where is it??

And i must agree with Drako, I have written many times about lack of strikers, but nobody reacted

for starters as the spanish referee left Greece yet and Alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this proves taht its not only in the Greek league where the refs take control of the game

and thats teh case here

it was suppose to be a terrific day for Olympiakos

but that was taken away from us

i mean i wasn't really pissed of with Georgatos Red card

i honestly thought yellow and the penalty kick but they player did head it before Georgatos gave him a nudge

i mean newcastle at half time had almost a 2-1 edge in fouls over Olympiakos

yet Olympiakos had 2 reds and 1 yellow

to Newcastle Yellow

one play epitimoze wut happenned in the game

i believe it was Rivaldo or Giovanni who got knocked down right ouside the box

the English players were just kicking away on the player while the Ref just watched

that bastard should never do any games that has a Greek period

he ovbiously still pissed off that Greece got spain out of Euro do to the group A standings

Uefa should take appropriate measures

on Olympiakos return leg

i mean their is alot against us

Greek teams don't play English teams well at all in England

i mean Olympiakos will now have 3 injured players out and 2 players through suspensions

Rivaldo doesn't look good

seems like he got re injured early on just wasn't his day

i mean we don't have that team speed that is needed to beat them

i think its time for some younger players to play and to get the experience

i mean have a good mix with castillo, okkas, and dacol out their with the rest of the veterans u know

but as bad as things went

the players that were in the game actually played their hearts out in the second half

ande need to acknowledge that

i mean they could have easily gave up 7 goals

but they didn't

so thats positive

also the Karaiskaki fans were just pumping and singing through all this

lots of boo birds which were needed

the Newcastle fans were never heard

did u all see the red cards Olympiakos fans had at half time

but again Olympiakos as some kind of cloud on them in Europe

having watched quite a few number of Oly in recent times, i feel there is a basic flaw in the formation.

Bajevic tends to a 4-4-1-1, with Okkas playing as a lone striker. it is never going to help us. with Djole being our primary 'playmaker' down the left, there is no one left in the upper midfield or in the "hole" to carry the play. Rivaldo is left with the job of filing the 'hole' as well as acting as striking help to Okkas. and for his age, he simply doesnt have the pace to do that. mayb it worked in Barca, but not any more. Often our stopping midfeilders like Kafes or Stoltidis have had to come up and take possesion.

Today, the formation was more like 4-4-2, with Rivaldo left wandering alone in the right striker's position. and then when we got reduced to 10 men, Okkas was drifted more to the left wing, while Djole pushed inside the left side of midfield: 4-4-1. and Rivaldo was left as a alone striker up front!! when v became 9 men, it changed into a 4-3-1 with Okkas going further left and Rivaldo goes futher alone upfront. how on earth are we going to score a goal?! I know that playing with 9 men is very very difficult and all credit to our players that they let in just a single goal after that, and didnt allow Newcastle to impose on the match.

i think a serious reshuffle of the formation is nessecary. the kinda formation we have doesnot suit the pace and style of our play at all. it would be better if we can swith to a 4-3-1-2. two strikers up front. Ribo in the hole. Djole with freedom on the left. A stopping midfeilder like Kafes or Stoltidis in the middle and someone like Maric on the right. Even though we dont have the pace, this formation would give us much attacking positioning. and when we play 2 strikers up front, it doesnt matter who plays, like Okkas and Castillio, it would put so much pressure on the opp team. and with Ribo right behind in the 'hole', he can carry our play, which is most of the time created in the left by djole and suppy the two strikers up front without he himself having to have much pace.

I started following Oly only this year, after Ribo joined and havnt had much chance to see them play. however, in the past 2 months, i have seen many matches and our formation flaw is very obvious. that is why, even when we play well, we r not able to crush teams and we only pull off 1-0 victories. I remember sometime in the middle of this season, when we played with two strikers up front, and that was when we played our best football!!!

I was really upset with Oly loosing the match 2day. in the short while i have followed this team, i hav started to like OLY very much.

WE SHOULD NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT IN ENGLAND!!!!!!

drako, I dont see how we can blame Kokkalis or Bajevic for this result

you can say alot about Kokkalis but he has brought some real quality to our club and the fact that Okkas turned out to be a xazogolis isnt his fault. This is Giovanni's worst ever season so I dont see how you can blame Kokkalis

you gays on the other hand can thank your kotes in management for the what a peice of s%$#! your club has become

Im mean be realistic; I dont think there is a big problem at OSFP considering what a great CL campaign we had before the last game

Obvioulsy today we were cruxified by the ref; you can say 'what goes around comes around' but dont try and deny that the ref made it just about impossible to get a result we could take to england

Bajevic is not to blame and anyone who says he should go after this should shut the %#%# up.......Im sick of hearing this and I hope Kokkalis realises that Bajevic can really do something this summer if he lets him take control of personell

someone like melazani is not the answer for pao or OSFP

anyways

I agree with HellenicFront that the greek football is founded on unhealthy roots. Until we have a decent domestic league (quality players even on small teams, youth schools, financially healthy clubs, good referees, educated managers etc) we will not be able to win a european title. Euro cup was a single moment success, based mostly on the experience and discipline of our abroad players and a german coach who applied over-defensive tactics.

We were butchered by the referees yesterday but that s@it can happen. Remember what they were doing to Juve a few years ago. Had we restrained Newcastle in the middle, they would be unable to start those threatening counter attacks and there wouldn't be an opportunity for fake penalty.

Piok_opze, I think that the formation you suggested is not possible because it would weaken our middlefield. Our players aren't fast or fit enough to withstand a constant up and down running.

Pappou, do you remember the "referee mistakes timing" discussion we had about the Toumba game? If there wasn't a red card for us and if there was a red card for them (as it should be) the outcome would be different. That proves how silly a talking like that can be.

Osfp did (almost) the best they could do this year. We don't have striker, we have slow and aged players almost everywhere and we are plagued by injuries and internal striffes. Now we are out and we can only hope for a proper defeat in England. Because I 'm afraid that, with lack of motive and the demanding needs of our domestic schedule, we will be humiliated there.

Let's elliminate AEK!

You have to realize that they are jealous of our president. Read carefully how sensible Pao fans are ravely talking about the will of our president to make Osfp a great club and how frequently they are trashing Pao management. Most Pao fans (excluding sheeps) hate "kavouria".

Of course, that doesn't mean that Kokkalis is even remotely close to perfectness. One of his big mistakes is the direct communication channel he left to exist between the players and the top management: our stars are easily able to bypass hierarchy (the coach) and complain directly to Louvaris or Petros! This is utterly stupid for any healthy enterprise. Another huge mistake our president did is his lack of will to crush the few hooligans who destroyed our club's domestic success this year (financial damage included).

someone like melazani is not the answer for pao or OSFP

thats what everyone said about makarian and he did a very good job...you cant judge a man by 5 games....espcially after he won 4 of them...it takes time for the players to adjust to the coach and the coach to adjust to the players....how do you knw malezani?? have u coached next to him??

pao123, Im quite certain I'll be proved right

I think pao needed a well known coach who cant be pushed around or somebody like Bajevic: a proven winner

I have not watched the match last night, but i've watched the epimaxes faseis.

Penalty & Red Card: In my opinion it was a penalty, you can see Georgatos pushing the opponent with his left hand. Now, because the ref gave a penalty he also should show a red card to Georgatos

Stoldides Penalty: Since he awarded the other one, he should do the same here.

It was probably a red card also.

Kostoulas: Stupid, stupid kid. No doubt it was a fair call, but both yellow cards were toooo stupid. He is picking up Pantos habits!

I saw the highlights. The dismissal of Georgatos was harsh. Although I have always been a fan of Nikopolidis, can anyone tell me if they have ever seen a better impersonation of a statue by a goalkeeper when that second Newcastle goal went in. Why is that he freezes on free kicks taken by Englishmen? Regrettably, Olympiakos never plays well in England. I can see a 5-0 result by Newcastle unless they decide to rest half their team. Sorry.

The referee made two bad decisions...

He gave a NON-existant penalty to Stoltidis and also he left Schurrer in the game while he should have been sent off in the second half!!!!!

Anyway I don't want to speak about the Greek mentality... What hurts me most is seeing those bloody mercenarty journalists in Greece... I am telling you, these people are the source for the problem in Greek football...

All I hear since yesturday is how crap the ref was, how much heroes Thrynos players are, and this m#$%! Papadimitriou at Skai breaking our balls every 3 minutes with the ref!!! Then of course we had the UNEMPLOYED Gmoch commentating tha match and saying all sorts of bullshit!!!!

I am refering to normal fans here in regards to the Greek press:

Do you remember after our loss by Sevilla, every bloody journalist in the country was critisising Gonzalez for getting sent off... I happened to see his tackle in the 75th and I have to say that it was nothing compared to Kostoulas's killing tackle!!! And all I hear since yesturday is bloody mercenary journalists speaking of heroes and bad refereing where nobody BLAMES KOSTOULAS for the stupid thing he did!!! I don't know if a serious person out there actually believes that Kostoulas sending off wasn't fair, or that Georgatos clear push on Dyer wasn't a penalty and a sending off!!!

But obviously when a team is used to ASYLIA by Mr. Germanakos, Zografos, Efthymiadis, Kasnaferis and the rest of the company when they get to play european matches where the ref is usually 50-50 they think that they get raped by the referee decisions!!!

KAKO PRAGMA H SYNHTHEIA MAGGES!!!! ;)

MHN ANYSHXEITE OMOS, O KLUIVERT EIPE OTI O THRYLOS THA PAREO TO UEFA!!!

I am sorry but I did not forget all I know about football just because Olympiakos had their Birthday and because I DID want them to win

Olympiakos Played a lousy game and the Ref's mistakes were all agains the TOON! Yes!

There was no penalty for Olympiakos there!

I am not saying this with any sign of empathy and people who know me through these boards KNOW I wanted you guys to win it.

Actually, the commentator and the fans reaction (and fans cannot have the luxury of a replay) shaped public view here and this is soooooo sad it makes me furious!

Olympiakos should be gentlemen and accept defeat

And dont think I am happy ahead of the OSFP-AEK clash this Sunday. I actually believe this hurts our chances to beat you now, as Oly players are with the back on the wall and will run like crazy to secure the win...

Better luck next year guys

we need to move from this game and this topic

its obvious our competitors are dominating this disscusion and its only b/c their hatred to Olympiakos

to state that if the Greek refs in c.l. would give Olympiakos 7 titles is a joke

for starters they can't ref any game Olympiakos participates in

second the ref from last night was by far worst referring display then any Greek ref
