drakos13
although im still sure the swiss are just a better side and will go through.... turkey has a chance- they will be playing in a loud atmosphere and if they can hit a quick goal there would be agood chance.... H_Sukur
Turkey lost their first game against Switzerland 2-0 We could have easily scored but lacked in finishing....(what about the penalty???) Istanbul is a pretty intimiating place to play, I'm sure the Swiss are used to this nature. Once Switzerland scores one goal it's over for Turkey. That means they need 4 goals to qualify, I can't see that happen.
Panathinaikos_Trifilli
i saw the highlights of the match from a germen channel zdf, from what they showed turkey had a couple of good chances, but switzerland could have scored another few aswell, it was a fair result which turkey wont come back from, 2-0 is a horrible result with the away goal rule. H_Sukur
Turkey still have a chance though...its never over untill its over. 2 goals would see us into extra time... I'm still a little phased over the referee's overall ability to control the 1st leg...
dark_horse
I found out on fifa.com that a referee from Belgium is officiating the game in Istanbul, could this be a disavantage for Turkey. I sense Belgium and Switzerland are not far from each other. ;)
H_Sukur
if this is true this could really put some pressure on Turkey. Hopefully we will do good....
dark_horse
This Belgium referee happens to officiate Denmark - Greece on October 8th, for the record he's not your best ref., he is known to be a "card flasher". If you Turks are to qualify, you better hope he does not pull off the same crap like he did against Greece (giving away yellow if not red cards for the hell of it). H_Sukur
we will see everything on matchday. If we can just pull of a couple of miracle goals(lets say two) then we every right to qualify...
GS1905
the main story about the referee is that FIFA -somehow- changed the second leg's referee on November 7, 8 days before the game. It was originally scheduled that Mr Luis Medina Cantalejo of Spain would ref the game but then that Belgian walking trunk was appointed. In the U17 Championships in Peru last month, the Belgian idiot ejected three of our youngsters in the game we so sadly lost to Brazil 4-3, has to be said, the winning Brazil goal in 90+2 mins was a clear foul on our defender before the ball was crossed. I sense if we somehow make it 2-0 in IStanbul the ref would come to the rescue of the Swiss. What bothers me about the Swiss is that they are a much much much worse team compared to Turkey, Ukraine, Denmark or Greece... For the good of football, we should go thru because everybody knows what the Swiss will do in Germany. Unless they are paired with something like Togo, Angola or Costarica they will probably end the competition pointless... That's the sad point if we fail to go thru... BEcause Turkey is a much more flamboyant team than Swiss and can go on to achieve big things on the day...
suisse
The Turk After what your national team has shown last Saturday in Switzerland, you are the weakest team we have played for this world cup qualification. Even Israel and Cyprus were stronger. But of course as we all know about the bad behaviour of your citizens, you have already started to try to play dirty game with the Swiss National Team when they arrived at the Airport today. Just be fairplay and let the better side be qualified. Don't try to bother the opponent with all kind of bad behaviours. Actually, I think your country should be banned of all the UEFA and FIFA competitions till their supporters start to behave like humans. Regarding the referee for Wednesday, The Turkish Football Association have asked the FIFA to change the referee after the Spanish referee have sent off two Fernebace players in their recent Champion's League game. Is the reason why we will have a Belgium referee. Start to concentrate on your game and stop trying all kind of cheating games...... Korisos
^ those airport incidents are nothing new, during champions league qualifying in the summer, Anorthosis went to play Trabzonspor and upon arrival at the airport, Anorthosis players and staff were forced to take off their shoes and even their socks and were individually body searched. don't know if that happens to all foreigners or if it's just to scare the opposition but Anorthosis responded by winning the aggregate 3-2, let's see if the swiss can pull the same trick
dark_horse
Actually, I think your country should be banned of all the UEFA and FIFA competitions till their supporters start to behave like humans. That threat isn't the first time I've ever heard, I recall in the Euro 2004 qualifyer between England - Turkey, the English fans invade into the pitch after England beat the Turks 2-0 in Sunderland. At the time UEFA was thinking about banning England from taking part in Euro 2004 if the English fans continued to misbehave inappropriatly. After that the English fans took this threat from UEFA seriously, since then no incident took place. UEFA did not allow English fans to make the trip to Istanbul (Constantinopoli) in October. suisse
Do you really think that trowing eggs and tomatoes to the coach bus....it is part of the game???? What about using sniffing dogs to check luggages of the team and let them to wait for 3 hours before leaving the airport. The Turkish national team have been granted a special coach when they arrived in Switzerland and moved from the airport within 10 minutes. Adding to that suppoters at Istanbul Airport were just unrespectful, showing knives to the team etc.... Just should disqualified a such bad team as Turkey

Its mostly true-----they are a bit bad losers-------but mostly they just really want to win and so scaring the crap out of you is a tactic....The swiss need to tough it up a bit (a lot actually- and take it easy on the beaurocracy as well :P ) and just go.....Nothing will happen to the swiss fans win or lose unless there was some problem at the last game from Swiss fans....Turkey doesnt really have a problem with the Swiss- did you know the Turks based their constitution on the Swiss one? except in Turkey you can at least flush the toilet after 10 oclock......
