So you're saying the timing is awful and you don't have a whole lot of confidence the club will spend the money adequately? Mate there is no chance the club has scouted or prepared for this in anyway.

Remember the sale of Koulierakis, we knew he was leaving in the summer from the previous January. We held onto him until we qualified for the Europa League that summer and then proceeded to scramble after he was officially sold in LATE August and we signed Omar Colley as a free-agent. Who was underwhelming to say the least.

Jeremejeff's departure was announced by the club. Good luck to him. Much more effective last year than I expected him to be.

There is a rumor we're trying to get Sandro Kulenovic on loan from Torino, and offered 200k as a type of loan fee with a buy out price (non-mandatory) of 5 million. Torino has not agreed but perhaps if this is real, the final numbers won't be far off.

Additional rumors that Matos has tried to make a few acquisitions but has been blocked by our girl Maria G. Who knows if that's true.

Anyway, another striker rumor is David Strelec, a Slovakian striker who plays for Middlesborough. 13 goals + two assists in 44 games last season, all competitions.

Rumors of the above are continuing to percolate. I was chatting with our friend in CT and uncovered that he had suffered a torn ACL last year, and then after his return to competitive action aggravated that same (repaired) tendon and so was put into their B team for rehab purposes. This is going to be a risky one, should we do it.

At the same time, there are also rumors that we've "closed" the deal for Ognjen Ugresic, of Partizan. He plays the same position (CM), is younger, and will probably be more expensive. But perhaps both a higher upside and less risk of a career-ending injury. Surely we're not going for both?

All of our recent rumors have been very young, which I like. Assuming we sign most of them, it will be interesting to see how many minutes Lisci is willing to give them. He seems very willing so far.

Ugresic & Mahmic would be two great signings. Would be able to switch formations. Zafeiris -Mahmic with Ugresic in front of them. Santamaria and Madi as subs. Wouldn’t need Taylor anymore

PAE PAOK has a decision. Go for the title or to rebuild. Personally, I don’t think we have any chance at the title. If it was Football Manager I would go for the complete rebuild/retool. But no one over 25. Sell everyone over 27.

Gross overreaction by some. Only 2 years ago AEK were eliminated from Europe by Noah, now they're in UCL group stage. 

Yes the off season was mismanaged but burning the house down solves nothing. Make some good signings, keep moving forward, we can be back there no problem.

It happens in every single sport. When teams expectations fall, they get rid of old players and bring in new. Of those listed, yes I’d get rid of Zivkovic (who frankly cost the team Europe group stage), Michailidis sucks. I love Kenny but his value is at an all time high right now. Need to bring in new blood.

We are currently linked to striker Neal Maupay out of Marseilles. Supposedly he would want to come here but we can't offer the wages he wants. 5'7 striker. 4 goals in 16 total appearances last year for Valencia I believe.

Gomez was loaned to VlF Osnabruck for one year, but also signed a new contract with PAOK extending his contract by one year.

Diego Costa (CB) played his last game for Krasnodar today and he is coming to Thessaloniki Thursday or Friday to sign with PAOK. He missed a penalty kick in the game. BTW Ozdoev was the scorer for Krasnodar in the game. Augusto also plays for Krasnodar.

We turned down a 2.5 mil offer for Shoretire from English Championship league team as well as an offer from Celtic for Taylor for a loan.

Greek transfer window closes on the 15th, so fortunately plenty of time there. There have been like a half dozen rumored transactions for us in the last few days but I figure 99% of them are nonsense so I have held off on dumping their names here. I'd imagine we'd get more clarity soon, though (with one or two characteristically waiting until deadline day).

The goaltender position is the one we don't need a transfer right now. We have more pressing spots to fill (like forward for example). I file this under "unlikely rumor"
