PaokCT Posted August 19 Posted August 19 He was coming to us before the sale of the Messiah. Anyone we get now will be telling how we spend. Unfortunately the transfer period is almost over so hopefully we scouted a few players before hand
paokarag4 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 So you're saying the timing is awful and you don't have a whole lot of confidence the club will spend the money adequately? Mate there is no chance the club has scouted or prepared for this in anyway. Remember the sale of Koulierakis, we knew he was leaving in the summer from the previous January. We held onto him until we qualified for the Europa League that summer and then proceeded to scramble after he was officially sold in LATE August and we signed Omar Colley as a free-agent. Who was underwhelming to say the least.
Dutch Eagle Posted August 20 Posted August 20 14 hours ago, pash said: Seeing a bunch of posts about Koulouris having agreed terms with the team, so looks like our downgrade from Giakoumakis is complete. Looks like he will sign for newly promoted Wieczysta Kraków in Poland ............
pash Posted August 20 Posted August 20 (edited) -edit- original post was made before I realized that there was a 7th page to this conversation Anyway, I see a new rumor for the one and only Philippe Coutinho, probably based on a theory of overlap with Matos' time at Vasco da Gama https://www.transfermarkt.us/philippe-coutinho/profil/spieler/80444 Edited August 20 by pash
pash Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Jeremejeff's departure was announced by the club. Good luck to him. Much more effective last year than I expected him to be. There is a rumor we're trying to get Sandro Kulenovic on loan from Torino, and offered 200k as a type of loan fee with a buy out price (non-mandatory) of 5 million. Torino has not agreed but perhaps if this is real, the final numbers won't be far off. https://www.transfermarkt.us/sandro-kulenovic/profil/spieler/357778 Last season he scored 11 goals and had three assists in 40 matches, across all competitions.
pash Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Additional rumors that Matos has tried to make a few acquisitions but has been blocked by our girl Maria G. Who knows if that's true. Anyway, another striker rumor is David Strelec, a Slovakian striker who plays for Middlesborough. 13 goals + two assists in 44 games last season, all competitions. https://www.transfermarkt.com/david-strelec/profil/spieler/482836
pash Posted August 23 Posted August 23 Another rumor! If we do end up losing Camara (as I expect), then we'll def need a midfielder. https://www.transfermarkt.pt/daniel-braganca/profil/spieler/461943 Though I'm not sure why he'd ever choose us over Torino.
pash Posted August 25 Posted August 25 (edited) Rumors of the above are continuing to percolate. I was chatting with our friend in CT and uncovered that he had suffered a torn ACL last year, and then after his return to competitive action aggravated that same (repaired) tendon and so was put into their B team for rehab purposes. This is going to be a risky one, should we do it. At the same time, there are also rumors that we've "closed" the deal for Ognjen Ugresic, of Partizan. He plays the same position (CM), is younger, and will probably be more expensive. But perhaps both a higher upside and less risk of a career-ending injury. Surely we're not going for both? https://www.transfermarkt.com/ognjen-ugresic/profil/spieler/895606 -edit- seeing the deal for Ugresic is 8mm + bonus + a friendly that will be played during the national team break. Expected in SKG on Wednesday (tomorrow!). Here's a highlight reel. Edited August 25 by pash
Blackhawk Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 Good move with the young Serbian from Partizan. That's how you utilize some of the money from the Konstantelias sale. 1
pash Posted August 25 Posted August 25 A new rumor, this time an Austro-Bosnian kid named Ermin Mahmic, from Slovan Liberec. Plays AM. https://www.transfermarkt.us/ermin-mahmic/profil/spieler/803049 All of our recent rumors have been very young, which I like. Assuming we sign most of them, it will be interesting to see how many minutes Lisci is willing to give them. He seems very willing so far.
PaokCT Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Ugresic & Mahmic would be two great signings. Would be able to switch formations. Zafeiris -Mahmic with Ugresic in front of them. Santamaria and Madi as subs. Wouldn’t need Taylor anymore
pash Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Wild how many rumors there are. I think most of these are just wishful thinking. Here's another one though, for CF: https://www.transfermarkt.us/arthur-cabral/profil/spieler/390638
PaokCT Posted August 28 Posted August 28 PAE PAOK has a decision. Go for the title or to rebuild. Personally, I don’t think we have any chance at the title. If it was Football Manager I would go for the complete rebuild/retool. But no one over 25. Sell everyone over 27.
paokarag4 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Fans are ready to tear shreds off Toumba and you think selling what remaining good players we have is the move? Sell Zivkovic? Sell Giannoulis? Sell Kenny? Michailidis? Keep it to football manager, that sh1t doesn't happen in the real world.
kozi Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Gross overreaction by some. Only 2 years ago AEK were eliminated from Europe by Noah, now they're in UCL group stage. Yes the off season was mismanaged but burning the house down solves nothing. Make some good signings, keep moving forward, we can be back there no problem. 3

When teams expectations fall, they get rid of old players and bring in new. Of those listed, yes I’d get rid of Zivkovic (who frankly cost the team Europe group stage), Michailidis sucks. I love Kenny but his value is at an all time high right now. Need to bring in new blood.
paokarag4 Posted August 30 Posted August 30 (edited) Nothing to see here. Edited August 30 by paokarag4 I don't have the strength to fight anymore 1
PaokCT Posted Tuesday at 11:46 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:46 AM We are currently linked to striker Neal Maupay out of Marseilles. Supposedly he would want to come here but we can't offer the wages he wants. 5'7 striker. 4 goals in 16 total appearances last year for Valencia I believe. https://www.transfermarkt.us/neal-maupay/profil/spieler/217115
Blackhawk Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Gomez was loaned to VlF Osnabruck for one year, but also signed a new contract with PAOK extending his contract by one year. Diego Costa (CB) played his last game for Krasnodar today and he is coming to Thessaloniki Thursday or Friday to sign with PAOK. He missed a penalty kick in the game. BTW Ozdoev was the scorer for Krasnodar in the game. Augusto also plays for Krasnodar.
pash Posted Tuesday at 09:08 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:08 PM So a one-year loan with a (non-mandatory?) option to buy for 8mm. Hopefully he's good enough to justify that price.
Blackhawk Posted Wednesday at 06:37 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 06:37 PM We are linked to the Croatian Kristijan Jakic, 29-year old midfielder (who also plays RB) from Augsburg. We turned down a 2.5 mil offer for Shoretire from English Championship league team as well as an offer from Celtic for Taylor for a loan.
pash Posted Wednesday at 07:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:23 PM Read earlier that we declined an offer from a team in England (Championship) for Shoretire. That pleases me.
Blackhawk Posted Friday at 07:40 PM Author Posted Friday at 07:40 PM Diego Costa is expected in Thessaloniki on Saturday. He had to change travel plans (no doubt trying to avoid Ukrainian drones) and is going to Constantinople first before coming to Thessaloniki. 1
pash Posted Friday at 10:34 PM Posted Friday at 10:34 PM Greek transfer window closes on the 15th, so fortunately plenty of time there. There have been like a half dozen rumored transactions for us in the last few days but I figure 99% of them are nonsense so I have held off on dumping their names here. I'd imagine we'd get more clarity soon, though (with one or two characteristically waiting until deadline day).
Blackhawk Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Quote PAOK, the current leader of the Greek top division and a four-time national champion, has made an offer for Sławomir Abramowicz, a 22-year-old Polish goalkeeper from Jagiellonia Białystok. This is a new development, as Jagiellonia's scouting director, Jakub Dryś, had stated on Kanał Sportowy in August that there were no concrete offers for the player. In prior months, French club AS Saint-Étienne had also been linked with Abramowicz, but that interest reportedly ended when the team did not secure promotion to Ligue 1. The exact terms of the proposal from PAOK and Jagiellonia's response are not known. The Greek transfer window closes on September 15. Abramowicz joined Jagiellonia in August 2021 and his contract with the club is valid until June 30, 2028. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €5.00m. He has also been capped 4 times for the Poland U21 national team. https://www.transferfeed.com/transfers/slawomir-abramowicz-jagiellonia-biaystok-paok/52338497 The goaltender position is the one we don't need a transfer right now. We have more pressing spots to fill (like forward for example). I file this under "unlikely rumor"
