Dutch Eagle Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Another year of (hopefully a lot of) ekdromes. If the Gavro winst the cup we start in EL-Q3. Draw is July 21st. Matches to be played on August 7th and 14th. If OFI wins the cup we start CoL-Q2. Draw is June 18th. Matches to be played on July 24 and 31st.
Dutch Eagle Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 We might even start in EL-PO: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=6453&sid=45422dd06f35c009f29387e78dde6083&start=315 A lot of if's though but always nice to have a look and see if can get a later start and attract better players.
Dutch Eagle Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Just read between the second and third red line, re debeli. Basically Red Bull Salzburg must finish 2nd or 4th in order to be in CL or CoL and clear our path if Oly wins the cup. If OFI winst the cup the scenarios can be deleted and forgotten. So, that's a fee (coming to you) of only € 150,00 excl. VAT because you are my friend. 1 1
pash Posted May 13 Posted May 13 You got off lucky bud; these sleezy lawyers can easily take you to the cleaners!
Blackhawk Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Which basically means that we need to win two qualifying rounds to reach the League Phase of Europa League, or win one qualifying round to reach the League Phase of Conference League. 1
pash Posted May 19 Posted May 19 If we lose either round in the EL qualifiers, we will also take the seeding of the team that beats us. That could hurt (though it seems there is a chance some decent teams could potentially be drawn against us in the EL). No reason to assume we can't make it, though. 1
Blackhawk Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Here is the current situation in the Europa League Qualifying Round 3, where PAOK will start the 2025-2026 European season. Only confirmed teams are listed. EUROPA LEAGUE - QUALIFYING ROUND 3 (August 7/August 14) Seeded Teams PAOK Thessaloniki 42.250 Unseeded Teams (possible opponents for PAOK) Wolfsberger AC (AUT) 9.500 Fredrikstad FK (NOR) 7.937 ------------------------------------------------------------------ If we qualify: EUROPA LEAGUE - PLAYOFF ROUND (August 21/August 28) Seeded Teams PAOK Thessaloniki 42.250 Unseeded Teams (possible opponents for PAOK) Racing Genk (BEL) 11.370 FC Aberdeen (SCO) 9.500 Sigma Olomouc (CZE) 8.820
pash Posted May 27 Posted May 27 For country coefficient points, gotta be most valuable to get the Austrians followed by the Czechs right?
Dutch Eagle Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 On 5/27/2025 at 10:25 PM, pash said: For country coefficient points, gotta be most valuable to get the Austrians followed by the Czechs right? Yes and no. Yes, if we get the points against them and they don't. No, as the system is some kind of a pervert one as one can harvest points easier in the Conference League. So the "relegated" teams/countries could be better of playing on a lower level.
Dutch Eagle Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 If all seeded teams win and unseeded do not (the presumption of this seedingsystem) the qualified teams for EL Q3 would be like this: Seeded clubs Shakhtar Donetsk Sporting Braga PAOK FC Midtjylland Legia Warsaw Anderlecht Partizan Unseeded clubs Sheriff Tiraspol FC Lugano Panathinaikos Servette FC Wolfsberger AC Frederikstad FK SK Brann Bergen There will be probably be 2 groups as the rules do not allow a clash with Pana. What to pick/prefer? Problem is that Wolfsberger or Brann could eliminate Viktoria Plzen, Glasgow Rangers or Red Bull Salzburg and you will face them. But they would not be eliminated if they were good, wouldn't they? Anyway, the draw is Monday July 21st. In 7 weeks and 1 day we will know.
PaokCT Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I still think it is absolutely crazy how UEFA does coefficient points. How the hell are we above Anderlecht? Used to be in Champions League all the time, over 200 matches played in Champions League play. I get it's based on the last 5 years, etc... UEFA really needs to give point multipliers. A group stage win in the Conf league should not be the same as a win in the Champions League. A win vs PSG (HA) should not be equal to a win vs that Nymph team.
Blackhawk Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Here is how things stand after this weekend. Only confirmed teams are listed. EUROPA LEAGUE - QUALIFYING ROUND 3 (August 7/August 14) Seeded Teams PAOK Thessaloniki 42.250 Unseeded Teams (possible opponents for PAOK) Wolfsberger AC (AUT) 9.500 Fredrikstad FK (NOR) 7.937 ------------------------------------------------------------------ If we qualify: EUROPA LEAGUE - PLAYOFF ROUND (August 21/August 28) Seeded Teams PAOK Thessaloniki 42.250 Young Boys Bern (SWI) 34.500 Unseeded Teams (possible opponents for PAOK) Racing Genk (BEL) 11.370 FC Aberdeen (SCO) 9.500 Sigma Olomouc (CZE) 8.820 Samsunspor (TUR) 8.780 If we don't qualify: EUROPA CONFERENCE LEAGUE - PLAYOFF ROUND (August 21/August 28) Seeded Teams AC Fiorentina (ITA) 62.000 PAOK Thessaloniki 42.250 Nottingham Forest (ENG) 23.039 Rayo Vallecano (ESP) 18.890 Unseeded Teams (possible opponents for PAOK)
Dutch Eagle Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 @Blackhawk: It will be tricky if we drop to the Conference League as the assumption of UEFA is that the club with the lowest coefficient drops. As the draws of the play-offs are made before Q3 is played the loser of the tie in EL Q3 takes the coefficient of the lower ranked team. Only Sheriff Tiraspol, Lugano (and Panathinaikos) will be seeded in CoL PO. If we draw another team and fail we might draw an Fiorentina, AZ, Sparta Praha or Nottingham Forest. So our coefficient in the Conference League is a questionmark at this moment. See: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vK7MSEWDO3bkqFcAIvhKUOuuVJ5lMdb2aFDHXXO1LI4/htmlview
Blackhawk Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Well it would be good if we drop to Conference league from the playoff round of EL, which would mean we will play in the League Phase of Conference League. However our no. 1 goal is to make the League Phase of EL. 1
pash Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I guess the good news from yesterday's draw (2nd qualifying round for CL) is that we cannot be drawn against Rangers if they lose, because they are playing Panathinaikos. That's a good one to skip. 2
Blackhawk Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Monday is the draw for Qualifying Round 3 of the Europa League. PAOK is seeded as number 3 in he draw. We will be drawn against one of the 6 unseeded teams. Here are a the seeding going into the draw. We can't be drawn against the loser of the Rangers - Panathinaikos: SEEDED TEAMS winner Besiktas - Shakhtar Donetsk 52,000 winner Levski-Sporting Braga 46,000 PAOK Thessaloniki GRE 42,250 winner FC Midtjylland - Hibernian 32,750 winner Banik Ostrava - Legia Warsaw 31,000 winner Anderlecht-BK Hacken 28,250 winner Sheriff Tiraspol - FC Utrecht 20,000 UNSEEDED TEAMS winner FC Lugano - CFR Cluj 19,250 loser Glasgow Rangers -Panathinaikos 16,000 winner AEK Larnaca - NK Celje 14,000 loser Servette Geneva - Viktoria Plzen 11,500 Wolfsberger AC AUT 9,500 Fredrikstad FK NOR 7,937 loser SK Brann Bergen - FC Salzburg 7,937
paokarag4 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Wow so much for being seeded. There are some tricky potential opponents in there, Plzen we know too well from last season, Servette were runners up in Switzerland, Lugano also top 4 in Switzerland. AEK Larnaca Cypriot teams are never easy in Europe and always have a point to prove I feel. Celje also made the Quarter finals of the Conference League last season. Not to mention FC Salzburg, who is Red Bull Salzburg, they always have cash to spend and are an established European team. You would think they remain in the Champions League but if they were eliminated, they would probably start as favourites against us. Okay so no powerhouses clearly, but still plenty of potential tricky match-ups. I think I am just scarred from us being eliminated by lesser lights sporadically over the years. So any team with decent European pedigree scares me, especially so early in the season when everyone can be rusty.
Bananas Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I'm happy there aren't even stronger teams. These are all winnable match ups assuming we show up. Too many players last season regressed so let's see what pre-season brings. Hopefully some freshness. We can't rely on Camara to save us all the time. So if we win this round, I think we're guaranteed Conference League group stage. Am I right? P.S. I have a feeling (call it a hunch) Dutch Eagle is really kassiesa in disguise.
PaokCT Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Chances are 50/50 we progress. Actually I’m fine going to conf league , more winnable games to bring our coefficient up.
pash Posted July 18 Posted July 18 We're winning the EL, easily. Banana Hammock - yeah, I believe a win in this round means we're guaranteed Conference League.
Blackhawk Posted July 18 Posted July 18 As long as we can avoid Salzburg and Viktoria Plzen we should be ok.
pash Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Doubtful that Salzburg and Plzen lose their matches. Calm down, people!
