PaokCT Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 New format! 1-4 put into playoffs end of the year. 5-8 play for the final European spot
pash Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I'm not sure how I feel about this. Like, fewer playoff games is good for us. But it also feels kind of insulting for teams 5-8? Is that just me?
PaokCT Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I like it. No more random sucky team in the playoff that we lose to but everyone else beats 3-0. Will make the playoffs way more competitive
Dutch Eagle Posted July 10, 2024 Author Posted July 10, 2024 Like the new format. O Aris and Lamia/Atromitos/OFI/or can't have any fun knowing to finish 5th and 6th for sure. And the top two of the relegation group were too strong. So this subdivision added is good. Season starts August 17th btw.
Blackhawk Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 BTW the teams in the 1-4 playoffs and 9-14 playouts keep the same points after the end of regular season. The 5-8 teams have their points divided in half going into the European spot tournament. It is also possible that the team that finishes in 5th place does not get the European spot if a team outside of the 1-4 playoffs wins the Greek Cup. It's my belief that these stupid playoffs/playouts should be abolished forever. 2

pash Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 MDs 14-17 gonna be rough, with that many away games (capped off by vs Panathinaikos). Does playing Panathinaikos at home on MD4 benefit us, I wonder? It looks like we have no back to back derbies in the regular season, at least.
Dutch Eagle Posted July 23, 2024 Author Posted July 23, 2024 MD 1 is on Saturday August 17th 20:00 EEST (In Toumba against Panserraikos).

PaokCT Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I don't see more than 6 points in the playoffs. Would put us at 52 points for the season. Would be our third lowest point total since 2007-2008. If we go winless and end at 46 that would be 4th worst season since 2000. I don't understand how people (not here) can be fine with these HISTORICALLY low numbers.

Dutch Eagle Posted May 12 Author Posted May 12 The simpolites a.k.a. O Aris ended the season without a Greek scorer on the list! But they do have a good CF and that is what we lack. 1
Soprano76 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Absolutely pathetic. I read somewhere that Karypidis was looking to bring in more Greeks? Also, whatever happened to that supposed stadium renovation lol
pash Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I will live to be a hundred before that happens, mark my words. I think it was kind of an "extreme need" last season to have enough Greeks too, and we still failed to do it. At some point we need to promote from the B team. I say start Shola at LW and promote an understudy to ride the bench and get garbage time minutes. It's wild to me that we can be SO EXCITED when we have home grown players like Koulierakis do well, but completely fail to understand that you can't identify those people without actually playing them. Like, Koulierakis basically only got time because Lucescu was forced to play him due to Michailidis' injury. And if I recall correctly, Michailidis - who was Koulierakis before Koulierakis - only got a chance to show what he could do when the three journeymen before him failed to stay healthy. Ugh now I'm all worked up. 1

pash Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Every goddamn year we hear about them wanting to enlarge this dumb league. Let me guess, we'll still have a playoff, but it'll last until end of May? The rationale re: the issue with their transfers is absolutely absurd - aren't these also the same teams that don't have the money to buy expensive players, and should be relying on domestic talent? https://inpaok.com/863701/super-league-sto-trapezi-i-afxisi-ton-omadon/
