Denmark - Turkey 1-1 Final. Good result for Greece.

Ziaka,

I respect your knowledge and always take what you have to say as being accurate.

That being said, after today's results (especially considering the fact that Ukraine is up 6 points on Greece), can you realistically see Greece finishing second in this group, or even winning it?

We cannot forget this is a tough group and also we're not playing 2 straight weeks of matches (euro 04). But the first 5 were each month and the last ones sparingly next year. Definitely that affects team momentum and if players "show up' to play.

Am not saying that our NT can't come back and at least make it through. Should be interesting.

As I predicted a draw between turkey and denmark which is good.

I thought Georgia would put up a better fight against Ukraine. Too bad kazahkstan couldnt draw with the alvani..Hey! I think I hear some albanian fans soon showing up here again to rub it in. <_<

AEKMAN, the way things played out so far in this group, I think the tie between Denmark and Turkey was a good result. This still keeps our NT withing striking distance.

If you look at the schedule there are still a lot of games left, and our Ethniki still has to play the contenders Denmark and Ukraine at home. We also play Denmark and Turkey away. With this in mind, if we get positive results in those games I think we are still in the hunt.

Having said all that, our Ethniki has to start winning the games. All the games at home are a must win. We also must win in Kazakhstan and Georgia. The team will also have to go for wins in the away games at Denmark and Turkey. If we do that, we can get 1st and at worst case 2nd place.

Looking back, I expected the Ethniki to have something between 5-7 points at this time. Instead we only have 2. At worst we should have at least tied Albania in Tirana and won the home game with Turkey. The tie in Ukraine was a good result, but a win would have been better so we could make up for the Albania and Turkey results.

I was shocked to see the outcome and Ukraine beating Turkey at home like that in spite of Ukraine lost some starters to injuries. Are they unstoppable?

I walked in the sports bar with my cousin and noticed some red half-crescent jerseys. The match had 15mins left. The turks didnt look thrilled. I wouldnt be either.

A draw between georgia and danes is good. But it shows Georgia is very strong also. At the end, the NT has to take every match seriously.

Amazing though Albania is tied for 2nd place with 3 goals fwd and 5 against.

We should take 1 game at a time and not worry about what everyone else is doing or what we need to do 2 games from now.

Our next match is in Athens w/ the Danes and this is the BIGGEST one for us. The good thing is that the Danes aren't playing well at the moment, but the game is in February so time will tell. Just be patient everyone and I think that our boys will get us to Germany once again..

:gr:
