Με σεβασμό απέναντι σας και την σχέση ειλικρίνειας που από την πρώτη στιγμή είχαμε, οφείλω να πω ότι ήρθε η ώρα να κοιτάξω τι θα κάνω. Το ποδόσφαιρο ήταν, είναι και θα είναι κομμάτι της ζωής μου, όπως και ο ΠΑΟΚ. Αλλά τη ζωή του την ορίζει ο καθένας όπως θέλει. Και εγώ θέλω ακόμη να παίξω ποδόσφαιρο. Νιώθω και έχω την ανάγκη να προσφέρω ακόμη...
Και εφόσον δεν μου δίνεται η δυνατότητα να το κάνω στο σπίτι μου, όσο κι αν το προσπάθησα, πλέον θα πρέπει να κοιτάξω μπροστά. Μια πόρτα κλείνει, μια άλλη ενδεχομένως ανοίγει. Δεν ξέρω τι ακριβώς με περιμένει αλλά σίγουρα ξέρω πόσο δύσκολα αναγκάζομαι να κλείσω αυτήν του σπιτιού μου. Και το δικαίωμα να λέω τον ΠΑΟΚ και την Τούμπα σπίτι μου,νομιζω οτι το κέρδισα. Το νιώθω.
Θα είμαι πάντα ευγνώμων απέναντι σε εσάς που παιδί από την Πορτογαλία με πήρατε από το χέρι και μου γνωρίσατε τον κόσμο. Φεύγω άντρας, οικογενειάρχης, πατέρας, Σαλονικιός και πάντα ΠΑΟΚτσής.
Δεν μπορώ παρά να ευχηθώ τα καλύτερα για την ομάδα μου. Δεν μπορώ παρά να θέλω τα καλύτερα για το σπίτι μου και φυσικά για την κεφαλή αυτού του σπιτιού, την οικογένεια Σαββίδη, μόνο χαρές και επιτυχίες. Αντίο. 

With this the great Vierinha is history as a player with PAOK. I am pretty sure Vieirinha as well as most of the fans expected a different ending.

Any chance PAOK might still offer him a contract or has he moved on to another club, retired? I heard the current coach is not very into having him back at the club on sport fm....

With PAOK anything is possible, but I think Savvidis is very pissed at Vierinha after refusing a contract extension worth 1 mil per season earlier this year. Actually Vierinha never replied to the offer, which probably made things worse.

If what Vierinha say is true that he wants to still play, he will end up at another team. Either in Saudi Arabia with Lucescu or some Dutch team as rumored.

I think egos on both sides got in a way.

Weren't there "stories" on social media claiming that his friend said no offer was ever made? I doubt that, personally.

In today's press conference by Rebbe and Kyriakou it was disclosed:

by Kyriakou that PAOK is not the one that will close the door on Vieirinha and that Ivan Savvidis has contacted Vieirinha in recent days (Monday).

by Rebbe that there is no financial agreement with Vierinha and that's why he is not at PAOK.

In other words PAOK will wait for Vierinha until October 23, and that Vieirinha needs to agree to the financial offer from PAOK.

Blackhawk, do you have any idea on when the free agency windows close in countries like, say, Saudi Arabia? Realistically, he's not going to get that million-euro contract in Greece.

Don't know. They are in their own world out there. I think the cruscial date is October 23 as far as PAOK is concerned. You are right he is not getting one mil from us. The rumors were that at some point PAOK offered 500K and Vieirinha countered with 600K, but that coul all be fake news. Now that Ivan got involved I think he will return to PAOK.

fingers crossed.. i mean the amount he’s asking for from us is not realistic especially at his age and injury status but we all know he’s such an asset to the club. if he resigns i’m definitely getting his name on my fanela one last time.

Without a doubt, Vieirinha is the best foreign based player that ever played for PAOK.

Hopefully he will continue with the team in some other capacity.

Vieirinha is appointed as Ivan's adviser on football related matters, whatever that may be. I think it is just an in between jobs till  .......

He would be a terrible coach IMO. So hopefully there is no in-between there.
