Antaeus7
Her next opponent is Iga Swiatek of Poland, the defending French Open champion. She has not lost one set in the tournament. This will be Maria's biggest challenge.

Blackhawk
There is a great possibility that we will have two Roland Garros finals with Greek participation. Hopefully both Tsitsipas and Sakkari are mentally ready to give their all in the semifinals. Both opponents are beatable.
Brklyngrk
At this stage, there are no easy games. Good luck to them both!
Antaeus7
Maria Sakkari had the opportunity to finish Krejcikova in the 3rd set while up 5-3 and with match point 40-30, lost out on deuce. Now she is fighting for her life trying to beat her on deuces. She is not dominating in the serving department like she normally does. At the end she loses 9-7. So disappointing!!! ? Blackhawk
Too many careless mistakes at key points of the game. She was not mentally ready when things did not go her way. So close to make it to the final.
Antaeus7
Blackhawk, prior to this match Sarraki is 0-2 (now 0-3) against Krejcikova. ? Edited June 10, 2021 by Antaeus7
Antaeus7
TSITSIPAS IS HEADING TO HIS FIRST GRAND SLAM FINALS! He beat Zverev in 5 sets 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-3. This would not have been possible without the second set comeback from 3-0 down.
Blackhawk
He showed resilience when things were not going his way in sets 3 & 4. Something that Sakkari could not do. Good job by Tsitsipas.
Antaeus7
His final opponent is Novak Djokovic, who eliminated Rafael Nadal in 4 sets. Result : 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 I think Tsitspas has a better chance to beat Djokovic than Nadal at a French Open Final.
Blackhawk
I think so too, but it will be very hard to do that.
Antaeus7
Great run from Tsitsipas in the French Open, this loss will sting him after blowing a 2-0 set lead. You cannot make mental mistakes to Djokovic or he will punish you. He looked lost in both 3rd and 4th sets. Did a little better in the 5th, but not enough. He is going to win grand slam titles in the near future. The greats will not be around forever. Edited June 13, 2021 by Antaeus7
Blackhawk
It's that mental readiness I was talking about before. Both Tsitsipas and Sakkari could not cope with being so close to major success. I think Stefanos relaxed a bit after winning the first two sets and you can't do that against the very best such as Djokovic. Hopefully he learns from this experience.
