Greekaroos Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 MANIATIS SIGNS WITH ALANYASPOR Giannis Maniatis is an official player of Turkish club Alanyaspor. The 30-year old completed his move to Turkey for Alanyaspor on Thursday after signing a deal with the club. Maniatis will be teammates with fellow Greece international, Georgios Tzavellas, who joined Alanyaspor in January on a free transfer from PAOK. The two have been teammates in the past at the club level when they enjoyed a common spell at Panionios. Maniatis signed as a free-agent after a 6-month spell at Atromitos in the Superleague. The 30-year old has been a consistent call-up to the Ethniki under Michael Skibbe and will look to keep Skibbe’s trust with his displays at his new club. The club announced the signing and welcomed him in Turkish, English, and even Greek.
Tzatziki Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Wonder if he will be a starter, best of luck to him.
Dean97 Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Yes they did but now there on good terms. I personally think this move is a rubbish move. Why didn't he stay at Atromitos and help the younger players. He has a good work ethic. Also Atromitos is a decent club he would have helped them even more.
js1000 Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 A thread already exists for Maniatis after his time in Belgium, good move for him to Turkey.
Greekaroos Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 The previous thread from his stint in Belgium did not allow you to post anything because it was closed. Not sure if I was able to re-active it?
Greekaroos Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 The Giannis Maniatis (Standard Liege) thread had the following. This topic is now closed to further replies. js1000 you must have a way to post on a closed topic but?
georgelaz Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 man the irony of both tzav and maniatis the NT magkes together at 'alanya' spor XD
Polikastano Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Big shock , Maniatis scores the winner in yesterdays win over Goztepe... he then got subbed off
La Mendel Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 He should have been called up instead of Tziolis. If Skibbe wants experience... At least he plays in a competitive league.
Dutch Eagle Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Maniatis retired shortly after an episode with the teammanager of Panionios. He served the Ethniki 50 times scoring one goal (against Australia).
