Blackhawk
Well the hearing was last Thursday and the verdict es expected by the end of this week. My prediction is that it will be -3 points, 4 to 6 games in empty Toumba and a a massive monetary fine.

Blackhawk
After Round 27 results, AEK has mathematically secured a spot in the playoffs. Panathinaikos will lose a spot only if the lose all their remaining three games. I also think Tripoli and Levadeikaos are pretty much out of it. With that in mind: STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 27 4. PAOK - 44 5. Panionios - 41 ----------------------- 6. PAS Giannina 35 7. Platanias 35 ROUND 28 Levadeiakos - PAS Giannina Panionios - PAOK Platanias - Xanthi ROUND 29 PAOK - Levadeiakos AEK - Panionios PAS Giannina - Platanias ROUND 30 Xanthi - PAS Giannina Platanias - PAOK Panionios - Atromitos If the playoffs tarted today, the initial standings would be: 1. AEK 2 2. PAO 1 3. PAOK 1 4. Panionios

Klaous
Giannina - panionios just ended in a tie.Actually, the tie is a better result considering that with a 6 points deduction we would have been just one point ahead to Giannina if they had won today. As it is now with just 3 matchdays left, the standings are: PAOK 44 (38) remaining games: Panionios away, Levadiakos home, Platanias away Panionios 41 r.g.: PAOK h, AEK a, Atromitos h Platanias 35 r.g.: Xanthi h, Giannina a, PAOK h Giannina 35 r.g.: Levadiakos a, Platanias h, Xanthi a Let's say we get 6 points deducted and lose to Panionios but win at home against Levadiakos. We would have 41 points in this case. Platanias would need 6 points against Giannina away and Xanthi at home to tie with us, but we would have still the better goal difference in comparison. Finally, they would need to win against us to be in 5th place. Giannina on the other hand has games against Levadiakos away, Platanias at home and Xanthi away. They would need to win against two of their opponents and to tie with the third at least to get to the 5th place. Furthermore, they'd have to hope that we lose against Platanias. Having that said, I think Giannina has the least chances to get to the 5th place. Platanias could turn into a real threat since we play our last match against them away. But then again, destiny is in our own hands. With that in mind, we should keep an eye on their results, especially on the match winner of Giannina vs. Platanias. However, I'm not really afraid of them nor do I believe they're able to keep getting good results until the end of the season. They don't have the quality for that. Oh and btw, have I already mentioned that Panionios has 2 derbys after the match with us? Edited March 21, 2016 by Klaous
Blackhawk
I don't think they will take 6 points from us. I think it will be 3 points. There is also a chance that AEK will get deducted 3 points. Additionally, Panionios and possibly Giannina might not receive a license to play in the playoffs, so it could really become a big mess.
Klaous
Edited Yeah, agreed. I wouldn't blink with an eye if the referee calls are in our favour for the next three matches too. After all, Marinakis needs some idiots who are able to get Greece some points in UEFA. Blackhawk
After today's EPO decision, the situation is as follows: STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 27 4. Panionios - 41 5. PAOK - 39 ----------------------- 6. PAS Giannina 35 7. Platanias 35 ROUND 28 Levadeiakos - PAS Giannina Panionios - PAOK Platanias - Xanthi ROUND 29 PAOK - Levadeiakos AEK - Panionios PAS Giannina - Platanias ROUND 30 Xanthi - PAS Giannina Platanias - PAOK Panionios - Atromitos If the playoff started today, the initial standings would be: 1. AEK 3 2. PAO 2 3. Panionios 0 4. PAOK
pash
So a win vs Panionios should pretty much guarantee our making it into the playoffs at least. Giannina has a pretty steep hill to climb either way.
Blackhawk
Situation did not get any clearer following Round 28: STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 28 4. Panionios - 44 5. PAOK - 39 (assuming -5 point deduction) ----------------------- 6. Platanias 38 7. Tripoli 37 8. PAS Giannina 36 ROUND 29 PAOK - Levadeiakos AEK - Panionios PAS Giannina - Platanias Tripoli - Panathinaikos ROUND 30 Xanthi - PAS Giannina Platanias - PAOK Panionios - Atromitos Tripoli - Veroia If the playoff started today, the initial standings would be: 1. AEK 2 (assuming PAOK -5 and AEK -3 point deductions) 2. PAO 2 3. Panionios 1 4. PAOK
Blackhawk
Panionios did not receive a license today from the EPO licensing committee. They have two chances to appeal this decision, and they claim that there will be no problem. However if that decision stands, Panionios will not be able to take part in the playoffs. On the other hand PAS Giannina received a license, which will make their game against Platanias that more interesting. I see Tripoli sneaking in into the playoffs at the last minute. pash
Any idea on what grounds they think their appeal will work?
Blackhawk
Situation is not 100% clear due to several appeals concerning point deductions. STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 29 4. Panionios - 44 5. PAOK - 42 (assuming -5 point deduction) ----------------------- 6. PAS Giannina 39 7. Platanias 38 8. Tripoli 38 9. Atromitos 36 (assuming -3 point deduction) ROUND 30 Xanthi - PAS Giannina Platanias - PAOK Panionios - Atromitos Tripoli - Veroia If the playoff started today, the initial standings would be: 1. AEK 2 (assuming PAOK -5 and AEK -3 point deductions) 2. PAO 2 3. Panionios 0 (assuming they win their appeal to receive license from EPO to play) 4. PAOK
Blackhawk
Basically PAOK has secured a playoff spot. There is a very slight chance that they will not finish in top 5, and the only way for that to happen all these scenarios must come true: - PAOK must not win their appeal and the point deduction remains at 5 points - PAOK loses to Platanias on Sunday - PAS Giannina defeats Xanthi - Atromitos wins their appeal and gets the 3 points back - Atromitos defeats Panionios If all these things happen, there will be a 3-way tie between PAOK, PAS and Atromitos, and PAS finishes in 5th place. Keep also in mind that a team that finishes in 6th place will also get into the playoffs if Panionios fails to receive the license to play. Blackhawk
We won back 2 points through the appeal process. This means we have secured a spot in the playoffs, and the Platanias game is meaningless . STANDINGS AFTER ROUND 29 4. Panionios - 44 (assuming Panonios gets a license) 5. PAOK - 44 ----------------------- 6. PAS Giannina 39 7. Platanias 38 8. Tripoli 38 9. Atromitos 36 (assuming -3 point deduction remains) ROUND 30 Xanthi - PAS Giannina Platanias - PAOK Panionios - Atromitos Tripoli - Veroia If the playoff started today, the initial standings would be: 1. AEK 2 (assuming AEK -3 point deductions remains) 2. PAO 2 3. Panionios 0 (assuming Panonios gets a license) 4. PAOK
Original Sydney
Blackhawk if PAOK and Panionios lose this weekend and AEK win would that get us an extra point for the playoffs?
pash
Correct. Final match is not meaningless for us. A draw or loss will put us an additional point behind.
Original Sydney
Thought so Pash, the decision overnight confirmed your spot in the playoffs (not that it was really in doubt) but I wouldn't say its meaningless unless you want to be 3 points behind AEK before the playoffs start instead of 2..... Blackhawk
Blackhawk if PAOK and Panionios lose this weekend and AEK win would that get us an extra point for the playoffs? There are several issues that need to be resolved first: - will Panionios get a license - will AEK and Atromitos get the 3 points back - who will get 6th place (if Panionios does not get a license) - and finally what the results of last round will be. In a normal situation the first three issues would have been decided before the last round of games is played.

Original Sydney
That's very true Blackhawk, I don't see panionios having an issue to get the licence as they have been granted to them in the past when they were in worse shape than they are now.. As for Aek and the -3 we will know this on Wednesday as the appeal is then..
