Important 3 points especially considering Olympiakos dropped points here earlier in the season. Onto the next, we just need to keep ticking off the wins. Where are you guys reading/hearing about Crespo? I can't seem to find any articles

Will be a tricky game, it's always an arm wrestle against Panaitolikos especially at Agrinio. If it wasn't for Vieirinha's wonder strike last season who knows what would've happen. Lamprou is included in the squad again at the expense of Stoch (again)

No idea how accurate this is as I can't find any news articles to confirm but according to Wikipedia (I may as well be making this up I know) We are playing Syria and Luxembourg in March. Also as per the Wikipedia page, we will be participating in the Kirin Cup a tournament held by Japan in June, we are set to play Japan on the 14th of June. Again I can't find a reliable source to back this up so who knows what's going on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greece_national_football_team#2020

Another goal for him this morning in a 1-2 away win against Heerenven, he also apparently hit the post late in the game.(He played the full 90) The win takes Willem up to 3rd place on the table, they may end up in 4th by the end of the weekend depending on what PSV does.

Got his first minutes of the season this morning in the Europa League, a 2-2 draw with Standard Liege.
-
@Yiankos Do you know that 100% works? So I could wake up in the morning at 10am and watch the whole match replay without the score being shown to me? Because I emailed PAOK support a while ago asking if I can and they never got back to me. So I just assumed that it wasn't a possibility and you could only watch the game live.

Not sure if anyone saw this but Ajax were bundled out of the Champions league group stage this morning after losing 0-1 at home to Valencia, Ajax just needed a draw to go through but were knocked out despite picking up 10 points across the group stage. What really made me smile was that Valencia went down to 10 men in stoppage time when one of their players reacted to Tadic trying to drag him up for feigning injury and trying to waste time. The Valencia player then barely kissed Tadic and he hit the deck like he had been shot. Funny it didn't bother Tadic when he and his teammates were rolling around and diving like crazy in the 2nd leg against us when they had the lead, happy to see he Dusan in particular not get to qualify. They will probably go deep in the Europa league and maybe even win it, but karma comes around in football. I'm not still bitter though, I've moved on from that game 100%

As a fan living in Australia I can only speak for myself. I haven't bought the season subscription and probably won't. The simple reason is due to the time difference I probably watch every 3rd or 4th game live. With work and other commitments it's hard to get up at 2,3,4am to watch a match, so I can't justify spending close to $114 (Australian) for the season pass. When I can watch a home game I buy the match and if it's an away game I'll get a stream. I know the time difference with the US isn't as bad as with Australia we really get shafted here and rarely is a kickoff time at before 2am.

My god Greek football was a joke before when just Olympiakos was challenging for titles this is now beyond ridiculous. I literally can not comprehend how a professional football team can sit there and say the m*****es they say, just klama klama klama. Don't get me wrong we've been guilty of this in the past as well, but to this extent? Pulling reports out from thin air claiming Savvidis is running half the teams in the league? Are we sure these are grown ups who run that team? Not 9 year olds who are bitter they keep losing at FIFA? Like how scared and desperate are you? There fans remind us that they are the big club with all the titles, but they act like a small insignificant club who doing it's best to keep it's head above water. I guess Savvidis owns Tottenham, Bayern and Red star as well? No way the great Olympiakos could lose to all those teams fairly right? It's impossible. Most of this is down to Greek culture, we are never at fault. Someone has always ripped us off in whatever aspect. This is just a sad state of affairs and keeps driving myself at least further and further from Greek football who can be bothered? I watch English football and the Champions league, teams play, they win, they lose.

You feel like it's only a matter of time before Olympiako scores again, they are all over us we can not keep the ball to save ourselves, it's just attack after attack for them
-
Silly, silly challenge by Giannoulis. He has actually done a very good job on Podence so far but let us and himself down there, that was poor.
-
Say what you want, but for me El Kaddouri was very good that half. As he tends to do he stands out in the big games, some nice touches and just doesn't turn the ball over that is invaluable in games like this where the heat is on. His composure and link up play has been impressive too at times. Augousto on a yellow makes me nervous

We are looking the better team so far, let's keep it up there are more goals to be had here for us I feel.

Pantelis Hatzidiakos ‒ FC Copenhagen

You can see the injury here at 3:04 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjebm_w76WI It looks innocuous, but those ones you can never tell. Fingers crossed it's a not an ACL injury. -
Goes without saying huge game. The fact they dropped points on the weekend means a draw is a decent result. They aren't in great form (we aren't playing great football ourselves) With a trip to London midweek, fatigue has been an issue for them coming off a European game. No doubt they'll be fired up for this one though. As Yiankos points out there are a few question marks over starting spots, I think Ferreira will stick with what he's gone with the last few matches. I think Limnios will start instead of El Kaddouri (or maybe Vierinha but it's less likely IMO) as he is a hard worker who will work up and down for the whole 90 and that's something that is needed in these types of matches.
-
Important win to pull level on points with Olympiakos given we blew the chance we had a few weeks ago. Leading into the derby next week everything is equal, a draw would be a good result but no reason we can't beat them. Zivokvic has never filled me with confidence, he is an accident waiting to happen IMO. Today again he gets shut down when he was on the ball oblivious to the Larissa player who was so close to him. Although Paschalakis also has errors in him I think overall he's the better keeper.
-
I heard they won't be playing
-
@pash Say it nicely, I don't want him to think I'm mean
-
That's Under 10's stuff, never take a chance like that especially in your own box. Attack the ball and deal with the danger.
-
Agree 100%. It's amazing our last 4 games have produced a very high level of performance and 3 wins. Fantastic signs. We still have people on here complaining. Not sure what more they want. You need to be beating the Finland's, Bosnia's and Armenia's of the group and hope to snatch a result against the big boys. We are Greece we aren't England we aren't expecting to go up against Germany/Belgium and play them off the park. If the game against Italy doesn't give fans confidence that we can match it against the big boys nothing will. Some people just like complaining for the sake of it, nothing is good enough. A lot of people are pissed that Bakesetas got an assist today, all I've read non-stop is "He hasn't scored or assisted he isn't good enough" Anyone who thinks he was poor after the last 2 games really needs to reassess what they consider football knowledge, he has been fine. He clearly isn't Fortounis but he is hard working and is adequate against opposition of this level.
-
Just saw it, it's an unusual one. He completely stops when the ball is played in, it was a good cross with power and bend and whipped low but the fact the he doesn't even make a play for it is weird. He might not have got there it's hard to tell but just to come to a complete stop? Maybe he thought the keeper was gonna come out and try claim the ball.

Good win and there are positives to take out from that performance. A few points we need to work on/address moving forward. Stafylidis was again good at center back, moving forward when we come up against quality nations who have quality center forwards I think he's going to struggle. I'd say based on the Italy game JVS is aware of this and that's why Siovas partnered Xatzidiakos in that game. Coming up against Italy (or any pot 1 nation) they are going to have a good striker I can see Stafylidis being exposed against these types of opponents. Against smaller nations, it's workable, he has pace and is an okay passer, left footed, he can do a job. Left back is interesting, Tsimikas currently playing very well in the Champions league and is on the cusp of a move to a decent European league. Giannoulis IMO was close to our MOTM today, JVS has a welcome headache at left back as both are quality particularly in attack. Giannoulis crosses almost always find a teammate, get him in space and it's half a goal, he's quality on the ball is incredible. I think I'd give Tsimikas the edge defensively. Galanopoulos was good worked hard, he needs to be careful though, he was sloppy at times in possession and got caught out, better teams will punish us. Nothing that isn't fixable, but he also played a few dangerous passes that we got away with. Vlachodimos again a little nervy, the flag goes up and spares his blushes, he is yet to convince while playing for the Ethniki but I'd like to see him backed for the next 3-4 games. Xatzidiakos looks good, still only 22 but looks up to it. Also those saying Limnios has nailed down left wing, he needs to play on the right (as he did today) When he's played on the left for PAOK he's looked lost. He isn't a technical dribbler, his dribbling is direct head down, take the line whip in a cross. He can't do that on the left. Given Finland have qualified, good opportunity for us to get another win and get 3 in a row. Would be a great way to end the campaign given where we were just 5 months ago.

Assuming both Olympiakos and Red star lose on the next match-day, then any win for Olympiakos on match-day 6 will be enough to give them third spot. So hopefully Bayern take care of Red star in Serbia and then the head to head won't come into it at all. -
