  1. Vieirinha's injury is a huge blow. He is a quality player has come up big in multiple big moments throughout the season. Thankfully the league title is all but wrapped out but his absence will be felt in the Cup final (assuming we close out the 2nd leg) and of course next season but we have a whole summer to prepare for that/sign players. I would be very surprised if Stafylidis came back at this early stage, he's back playing for Ausburg I'd say he has enough currency in Germany and Europe to stay in a better league. In saying that I'm pretty sure his contract expires in a few months, so the stars may align
  2. God I hate it when I'm right. Ah well, we'll slap Levadiako at home, given they are officially relegated as well they'll be demoralized. Can see us slipping 3-4 past them. Biggest concern I have is a pitch invasion before full time as the fans won't be able to contain themselves. Hopefully the invasion comes after full-time and we celebrate the title in front of packed a toumba. Will be something special getting it done at home, let's close it out boys
  3. Jaba and Biseswar trained fully so they'll be playing no need to worry. Feel like we might drop points in this one, a few players out Larissa will be gunning to delay our title celebrations by a week, has scrappy draw written all over it.
  4. It can go 2 ways, we signed Vellidis for that reason we all know how that turned out. We also signed Paschalakis after he dominated a game against us at Toumba a few seasons back. But yes yiankos, I agree with you bad transfer philosophy signing players who play well against you
  5. AEK is coming 3rd, it's done and dusted. They've been itching to play us in the cup final and get a shot at "redemption" so they'll be more than ready by the time the game rolls around, assuming of course we both take care of business in our respective 2nd legs. Aris v Atromitos battle for 4th is interesting. I give the slide edge to Atromitos, although the form Aris has been in, hard to seem them not getting something out of the game when next weekend. Do we think the relegation battle is done? Apollon is gone, Leveadiakos looks gone (they've risen from the dead before) going to be tough for OFI to stay up. PAS battling with another 3-4 teams to avoid the relegation play-off, might be something that ruins our unbeaten season when we go there on the last day. Especially if we do a heavy rotation ahead of the final and they're playing for their lives
  6. Kyriakos finally injury free for the first time this season and getting is first minutes of the season. He played the full 90 of the Polkal quarter final against fellow 2nd division side Paderborn. Hamburger won 2-0 and are through to the semi finals. Hopefully he can stay injury free for the rest of the season, help his side to whats looking like promotion and a cup final potentially and get his career back on track.
  7. No go file, keep your best players in their natural positions. Fortounis always as a dekari, Sokratis always at center back and Zeca always in midfield. He is by far the best we have at breaking up attacks and blanketing the oppositions best attacking mid. Last time Zeca was moved out of there Modric and co ran riot.
  8. Huge result, directly after the game I felt we let a chance slip away to take all 3 points and although that may be true everything considered how the game started it's a fantastic result. In terms of playing 3-5-2 moving forward I'm not sure on it. Siovas is good enough to be starting but not over Sokratis and Manolas. So the only way to fit all of them is to switch to 5 at the back. The issue with switching formation so drastically is most players don't play this formation at club level (Only a few top teams around the world do and even then the manager picks and chooses when to play it) so it's difficult to expect players to be able to adapt straight away, especially against quality teams. Our full backs are an issue, defensively. Koutris as good as he was in attack in the 2nd half he has issues when defending. Bakakis on the other hand should only be playing against Liechtenstein and possibly Armenia. The Bosnian winger (Duljevic) on his side of the pitch plays for a bottom 6 club in Germany's 2nd tier and was running rings around him. We desperately need a right back, until then Toro/Retsos are our best options. All in all it was great to see the Ethniki playing some conventional football for a change, as others have mentioned the most impressive thing overall was our heart and fight. Bravo manges, now hopefully all our internationals have good ends to the season and we have no injuries by the time June rolls around and we are fit and firing heading into a big 2 matches
  9. Read a week or so ago that Italian clubs were circling for him. Think I read around 15mil, we have a % if he's on sold, don't we?
  10. Did you guys check youtube on the ethniki's official channel ? Here you boys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-hppZ3dx9w
  11. Bosnia will start dropping like flies now. They have all 3 of their subs to bust our balls Kolouris on Bakakis off
  12. Pjanic sent off Kourbelis off Kolvos on We have 30 mins to really turn the screws now, pame mangkes
  13. Obviously we need to try get a draw out of this game but we need to keep in mind UEFA goes on head to head record. So losing 2-1 could end up being crucial down the road
  14. Bakakis once again proving he he doesn't have what it takes to play at this level. The issue is we don't really have an alternative, it's an aging Torosidis (when fit) or a plugging in a center back. You'd have to say for games like this Retsos (again when fit) would be the best option
  15. We are creating some chances now, Donis with another header that he couldn't connect with. With a change of personal at half time as well we might have a chance. But need to start taking our chances could have easily had pulled a goal back by now with the 3 chances we've created
  16. We need to change shape back to 4-3-3, playing a 5-3-2 a formation the players haven;t played together in such a game is a big risk, and so far it's not paying off. Last time we tried to do this was a 4-1 loss against Croatia, all be it under different management
  17. Thinking about it having Donis play as a striker is probably the smart move, regardless of whether Mitro was fit or not. He'll have no defensive responsibilities and will be able to hit the Bosnian's center backs directly. His pace will be a big threat on the break. With that in mind it's hard to see who else starts on the other wing(assuming Masouras is a lock) apart from Bakesetas. Unless he throws Mavrias in, or obviously Donis could play on the wing with Kolouris leading the line.
  18. Durmishaj being called up to replace the injured Mitroglou. Looks like EPO has received the paper work needed from the Albanian FA, but it's still not 100% he'll be able to play the game. Regardless he's en route to link up with the squad. https://www.sport24.gr/football/ellada/ethnikh-elladas-o-ntoyrmisai-sth-thesh-toy-mhtrogloy.5471503.html
  19. His strike rate isn't great but by international football standards it's not awful either. Have a look at his goals per game average compared to Greece's other top scores and it's not too far behind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greece_national_football_team#Top_goalscorers
