But if you put like Sampdoria vs Asteras, Asteras would very likely beat them. Even our top teams can beat top Italian teams; look at Oly vs Juve. Although we lost the second leg we were closed and popped a couple goals in. AEK vs Inter, although it was a friendly Inter had there entire starting lineup on and pushed soooo hard to score and couldn't. Not to mention the game could have gone AEK's way too. I definelty agree Akritis, the Italian league has dropped a lot in the last 5 years. Easily more than the Greek league.

Good point Pana97 We need players who are hungry and have something to prove. Not players who's glory days are over (if they had any) and are settling in our league.

Grkfreezer I don't know if mitroglou and Samaris are "tearing up" Portugal. Sure, they have a goal each but when they put on the ethniki shirt they play like amateurs. Samaris and mitroglou were horrible today. Not news to me anyways, they've been like that the whole campaign

jvc AEK looks alot better than us. 2013-2015 they turned from an amateur s**** youth team, to a very competitive title challenging club with an impressive roster. Panathinaikos is a mess. If we took the drop to Gamma Ethniki we'd be better off today. They only reason we didn't is because losing aek AND pao would be a big blow on the league. Dellas was a blessing, Anstasiou is questionable. Also, how much money has AEK spent on their roster compared to ours? Tipota. Very conservative with their transfers. Meanwhile we spend a million buying and injury plagued, aged Essien. ^^^ Also we're not so financially healthy, AEK is. I love PAO but all bias aside AEK look ALOT better than us.

Reaper as much as it kills me to say this as a PAO fan but you're spot on. I'm not going to be stubborn or bias. Panathinaikos IS a dying brand, just a shadow of its previous glory (Getting eliminated by Azeri's who wear Islam logo's on their shirts). If they took the Gamma Ethniki path a couple years back I'm confident they'd be better today. Give Aris 3 years, they'll be strong. Look at AEK now.

I want Alafouzos gone. Hopefully then we can get some real investors with deep pockets... that's what we need. We aren't Apollon Kalamarias, we're Pamathinaikos - a big name. You can't put all the blame on Anastasiou because he really doesn't have the best cards, especially under a tight budget. But as I sad, I don't think Alarouzos' money is enough for us

We only beat Panaitolikos because they handed us two goals on a plate. We couldn't score with our own chances.

@Pana97 Yesterday was undoubtably one of the most embarrassing days in Panathinaikos history. This team needs a repo. Unfortunately we don't have a billionaire investor like AEK does. Panathinaikos is a HUGE European club with a rich history, and enormous fan base. Sadly that name is becoming fast forgotten across Europe. All I know is that ALOT needs to change. We're down to a level where Azerbaijan teams are beating us! How hard is it to pick up some Arab investors?! Panathinaikos like AC Milan, Inter, is a big name! I'm becoming embarrassed to say that I am a supporter of Panathinaikos. I don't feel the pride I once felt one I was younger.
