  1. From what I understand, Arnesen has been talking to Cimirot's team for a while now. At one point in the negotiating process they were close to a deal. At that point several managers got involved and the price skyrocketed to 1.4 million. That's when PAOK ended negotiating and announced that they re no longer interested. Yesterday, the FK Sarajevo owner came to Athens to negoatiate with Atromitos concerning another player, and he invited Arnesen for talks concerning Cimirot. That meeting has finished about an hour ago and according to a report on Metropolis radio a deal is very possible. PAOK is offering 1 million (500K now, and 500K in installemnts), plus a percentage to Sarajevo for resale of the player. Also reported is that PAOK is thinking of signing Antonis as well and then loaning him to Veroia. I think the bricklayer rumor is just that, a rumor. I don't see that transfer happening.
  2. The other reason why Rats/Golasa/Pereyra are on the list because the team has the option to replace on e player on the list 24 hours before the first game. Obviously if they decide to replace somebody, it would be for a players that is not in the plans. There is also the remote chance that any of those 3 will be asked to rejoin the team, but that's very unlikely.
  3. The other reason Antenna might not pick up the Superleague games is financial. Antenna is having major financial problems, and they have been laying off a lot of people in Greece. They might decide to just stick with the Greek Cup games, which they will show this upcoming season.
  4. The 'B' list is comprised of players from the teams academy. I believe it's some kind of UEFA requirement. As you can see there are players on that list that are not even on the team right now. As for the Golasa/Pereyra/Rat is concerned. I can only think it's a strategic move by PAOK in case those players want to go to FIFA concerning their contracts.
  5. According to rumors, we will sign two more players, and both are apparently higher caliber players that from what we go so far. One of them is supposed to be a center back. We shall see. I also think that few more players will be leaving the team. One of them will most likely be Maduro, and would not be surprised if the other one is Salpi.
  6. Because he does not want to come to PAOK/Greece. If by August 31st he is still a free agent, he might change his mind, but by that time I think it will too late.
  7. Right now the international rights are under negotiations. On Wednesday Superleague will decide if the international rights will be awarded to Forthnet (owners of Nova sports). The other bidder was TAF Sports, who held the rights in the past, but it appears that all the Superleague teams except PAOK are leaning towards Forthnet. We will know more on Wednesday. Now what does it really mean as far as the coverage in USA/Canada/Australia? My speculation is that if Forthnet gets the rights, all the games, except for PAOK's home games (unless PAOK changes their stance), will end up on Sport Plus. I base this on the fact that last season Sport Plus carried a lot of Nova Sports programming. If that happens, I would have to conclude that Antenna will no longer be showing Superleague games. As usual the situation will be cleared at the last possible moment.
  8. As well he should. I just don't believe some of the sitters he misses. Tudor should make him stay an additional hour after practice just to make him improve his finishing.
  9. Welcome Ikande. I believe PAE PAOK came and official said that they are no longer interested in Cimirot. Could be a negotiating move though.
  10. We are going to have a difficult time advancing if we don't get some players, and 50-50 refereeing.
  11. Why no Vitor? How many games was he suspended for? I assumed it was only one. I agree with bananas aboul Olsen. Bad call by the ref. If anything it should have been an offensive foul.
  12. Yes, Altach suprised Guimaraes. The draw will take place at 13:00 CET. Here is the final list of possible opponents: Rosenborg Trodheim NOR 11.875 Qarabag Agdam AZE 11.500 Hajduk Split CRO 11.200 HJK Helsinki FIN 11.140 Atromitos Athens GRE 10.880 Zorya Luhansk UKR 10.533 Molde FK NOR 10.375 FC Thun SWI 10.375 Astra Giurgiu ROM 9.759 FK Jablonec CZE 9.325 Dinamo Minsk BEL 9.135 MSK Zilina SVK 8.750 FC Midtjylland DEN 7.960 Videoton Fehervar HUN 7.950 Brondby IF DEN 7.460 Vojvodina Novi Sad SER 6.275 SCR Altach AUT 5.135 Rabotnicki Skopje FYR 4.675 Milsami Orhei MDA 3.750 Odds BK DEN 2.875 Gabala FK AZB 2.750 FC Kairat Almaty KAZ 2.575 Prior to the main draw the teams will be split up into four groups. Two groups of 10 teams (5 seeded/5 unseeded) and two groups of 12 teams (6 seeded/6 unseeded). A team will be drawn only with a team from the same group. Teams I would like to avoid are Rosenborg, Molde, Jablonec, Brondby and maybe Zorya Luhansk. I would also not like to travel to Azerbaijan or Kazakhstan, although both teams should be easy to beat. I think we will end up with Hajduk Split or Dinamo Minsk.
  13. Playoff round draw is tomorrow. PAOK is among the seeded team in 8th place. Here are our possible opponents: Rosenborg Trodheim NOR 11.875 Qarabag Agdam AZE 11.500 Hajduk Split CRO 11.200 HJK Helsinki FIN 11.140 Atromitos Athens GRE 10.880 Zorya Luhansk UKR 10.533 Molde FK NOR 10.375 FC Thun SWI 10.375 Astra Giurgiu ROM 9.759 FK Jablonec CZE 9.325 Dinamo Minsk BEL 9.135 MSK Zilina SVK 8.750 FC Midtjylland DEN 7.960 Videoton Fehervar HUN 7.950 Brondby IF DEN 7.460 Vojvodina Novi Sad SER 6.275 SCR Altach AUT 5.135 Rabotnicki Skopje FYR 4.675 Milsami Orhei MDA 3.750 Odds BK DEN 2.875 Gabala FK AZB 2.750 FC Kairat Almaty KAZ 2.575 PAOK can't be drawn against Atromitos.
  14. Draw is tomorrow. PAOK is seeded in Pot 1 in 8th place. We have 4 days to bring on some players in order to be eligible to play in the playoff round.
  15. I am sorry, but if you consider this ref (and the Pakistani in the first game) worthy of calling an European game, than you are setting your standards too low.
  16. Mak is unbelievable. He can't score if his life depended on it.
  17. Can't really judge him so far, but I'd take him over Glykos any day.
  18. Don't know hat game are you watching, but the refereeing by this German policeman and the Pakistani Norwegian in the first game is/was atrocious. On par with Superleague refereeing. In any case Spartak now needs to score two goals to advance.
  19. It is an exact the same as the away game at Lokomotiva. We create scoring chances and they score a goal with a gift from the ref, who is also hesitant to show any cards to Trnava players. We should have had 2 goals in the first half. First we have a xasogoli Mak, and then inexperienced players such as Pelkas and Korovesis. We need to score a quick goal to get back to normal.
  20. PAOK and La Coruna have come to an agreement for a 2 million Euro deal for Lucas. It will be made official when Karpaty Lvov gives the final ok. Reports are that we are also after the Bosnian midfielder Gojko Cimirot (22 years old)
  21. Martens is official an ex-PAOK player. Both sides agreed to terminate the contract. Also during today's press conference Tudor said the we have to realize the fact that Lucas is not coming back to the team.
  22. Well she did come to Salonica with him to check things out. It appears that something scared her away. I guess she did not want her significant other to indulge in the nightlife like some others (Noboa, etc.) for six months and then having to move on to other things.
