  1. I'll let you keep posting that before games because it worked last time!
  2. Panathinaikos has a great chance of losing as well. Still too early to be sure of that last position (esp since we still have to play them twice). Guess we'll see. Maybe more interesting: Olympiakos probably will rest more of their starters for their cup match vs AEK, I would assume. Does AEK do the same? If they see a lineup of 18 year olds, they may go for the gold after all.
  3. Good to have a game in hand, but these are pretty important matches. Two wins would go a long way towards making it out of the play outs.
  4. Apparently Ozdoyev had a renewal clause in his contract for next year, which he has already met the conditions of. If we have him for next year, then I really don't think we should move to re-sign Schwab again. We are in grave danger of repeating the same mistake we do every year. Apparently Samatta had a similar clause but obviously will not automatically trigger it. Unfortunately I am growing increasingly certain that the team will offer him a new contract regardless.
  5. 1.9 meters; are we sure he isn't bigfoot? What's his chest hair situation? Is there sufficient hamburger meat to cover the bun???
  6. Yeah I'm a dumbass who can't scroll right. On the plus side, Ioannidis picked up two yellows today. Hopefully Swiderski cannot score. A shame he'll be rested and ready for our game.
  7. They won't have to do all that much - if we beat Panathinaikos next week, and Olympiakos beats AEK, then we're most of the way there. Let's be honest - the only two teams that have any chance of gaining points for Greece next summer are PAOK and Oly. Panathinaikos and AEK exist to go out in the conference league group stages.
  8. I am so embarrassed for you -edit- The other game is 3 minutes in and Olympiakos is already winning by 1
  9. Not liking this lineup. My app is giving a weird one but is this what we're going to see? --schwab--camara-- --zivkovic--ozdoev--konstantelias-- --samatta-- Perhaps an attempt to flood the midfield at the expense of a true attacking threat? An absolute embarassment that Samatta keeps getting time. And where is Pena?
  10. Greeks are afraid of weight training and it shows when they go to play in England
  11. Wouldn't be much different than playing a back 3. Not that I think he'd do this, but some sort of variation of a 3-5-2 or 3-4-3
  12. Bakasetas should take up his preferred profession of diving instructor. I hear there's an opening in that "Athens Riviera" redevelopment
  13. It is just WILD to me that people were agonizing over who to play in midfield, to counter the Scots. Like, are you kidding me? Siopis and Mantalos? Were they hiding some deep well of skill all these years that we've never seen before? Get real; Zafeiris is looking great and can be the backbone of the team for years. Can't fall into the trap of not letting new people play, because when they're finally the vets, they will not have gained any experience with the team...
  14. :: cries in PAOK language ::
  15. So they offered 20 million, Savvidis said no, now they're anticipated to offer only 17 to start? https://inpaok.com/858363/i-benfika-tha-epanelthei-gia-konstantelia/ Tbh they probably have a few god players they can throw in as part of a swap + 17mm, just saying
  16. We haven't been talking about this in here, but there's been buzz lately about our daddy Ivan possibly buying Rostov (the club, not the whole city, though who knows with an oligarch). https://inpaok.com/858374/savvidis-rostof-i-imerominia-pou-tha-krinei-an-yparchei-deal/ I know he used to have an involvement with that club, as their president. I am not sure how much more involved this proposed move will end up being, beyond the bailout. I'm sure we'll run afoul of some sort of ownership issue that will see us banned, though. Xanthi x 1000
  17. Mantalos, Siopis, and Bakasetas will start, mark my words. The party is over before it even begins!
  18. We have a half dozen GREEK keepers, why wouldn't Tsiftsis be good enough to be #2? Wouldn't shock me if Pavlenka comes back, though. Good points on Kotarski's value. Now I think we'll sell him for 3mm. In Austrian dollaroos, I think that's about equivalent to 34 kangaroos and a bactrian camel.
  19. Sastre has the flu so is questionable for this match. Will be big if Otto recovers in time after all.
  20. Forza saying Genoa wants Kotarski for "3.6mm + bonuses" that could reach 5mm. With him also being on the radar of Fiorentina. 5 million is too little for him IMO. I think we can extract more for him. As for Tissoudali...what can I say? If he doesn't want to be here, or the coach doesn't want to use him, we should move on. We'd save more on salary than we would eat in a loss on the sale. Also, it would still be less of a loss than that kid we "bought" from Xanthi a few years ago, who immediately decided to retire and go to like, forestry school or something (ha ha).
  21. Sounds like Otto might make it back after all. It's been a month, after all. Assuming he does, would be good to not rely on Vieirinha down the stretch.
  22. I honestly think we're better than Scotland. We outplayed them in 3 out of 4 halves, after all. It just depends on the team's form. I don't watch Denmark all that often, but recognize that they have a pretty good side. Not the end of the world if we don't get ahead of them, but it will be bitterly disappointing if we don't end up in at least second place.
  23. This isn't really a transfer, but it would be hugely wasteful to make a "pending free agents" post. So here we go: https://inpaok.com/858049/anoichti-i-epistrofi-tou-taison-stin-internasional/ I remember reading when we first got him that it was his intention to retire with his boyhood club. Their new league season starts this Saturday, so will be in full swing by the time he's available (especially assuming he takes a few weeks off to rest and recover).
  24. Can I stay over at your family's place if they play there? I'd like to save some money. I dunno bud, that Olympiakos midfielder looks like his testes haven't descended yet. My god I felt a thousand years old. I wonder if his skull has had a chance to knit together.
  25. This edition of the Nations League had its draw on 8 February 2024, and I believe the games began in early September of 2024. The earliest games for '25-26 will be played on 21 September, so I'd guess some time in late February of next year. For now, the only thing we have to look forward to is the admittedly much more interesting WC2026 qualification.
