Wouldn't be surprised if this first half lineup is who we actually end up with in our first real game -edit- here is the lineup. Thymianis is now in for Sarris, who got injured a few minutes in to the game. At this rate we won't make it to Christmas.

After the game Lisci did say they had literally had only one training session where he tried to instill tactics, so I'm not sure there was much to see there. Been a few days and my memory is hazy, but from what I recall he played what looked like a 4-3-3 to me, with a lot of pressure in the opposing half (very offense-minded). I have read he doesn't like the deep balls as much as a short passing game but, again, we were playing against a pretty bad team with very little preparation on our own. As far as the quality of the play...very dominant, but again not a surprise there. Zafeiris looked great. My sweet baby boy Balde also looked good. I'm pretty sure that link should still work for a replay btw, as it was just on youtube. Their page also has the next set of games already up as pending so should be easy for us to find them next time too.

I genuinely think it's because when you have money, you feel you need to spend it on the shiny new toy. Keep in mind both Mythou and Chatsidis can play CF too, and they only even made the senior team when we had injuries. I am tempted to blame it on Lucescu's conservative player selection (and I do!), but even without him it seems every coach refuses to take a chance on these younger guys. Plus, those coaches also have the expectations of championships on their shoulders, which means they will not be willing to take as many risks. Along that same idea, even though we should be rebuilding, people will give Lisci absolutely no leeway the moment the team stumbles. Even if the philosophy he (or Vieirinha or Matos) brings are needed.

Change of plans for Taison, who apparently went to SKG for...I assume paperwork? Augsburg reportedly has selected a replacement for Giannoulis, so presumably it's just a matter of time. Sanchez news - will the team actually roll with Lyratzis as #2? I'm still not sure what his contract actually runs through. inPAOK also posted something earlier claiming our offer for Bianco was for no money but Fiorentina retains 50% of his rights, which cannot possibly be true...

Meite appears to still be carrying an injury from last summer. Does this mean we'll actually play Camara, who is a vastly superior player? Michailidis is also spending at least some of the sessions training separately. Undisclosed injury as well?

Bianco's agent apparently saying he would have liked to have stayed. I wonder if that's code for, "please make a bigger offer" (which would not surprise me). inPAOK reporting that Copenhagen is in the market for a new CB - might bode well for our hunt PAOK wished Ivanusec well, so that chapter is now closed

Twente's a pretty good team but was hoping for some stronger opponents at the beginning (regardless of how 'meaningless' these games are). I wonder if any of these will be played as 120-minute games like in previous years.
