Very solid (and entertaining) game away vs Georgia today, 0-3 win. We are likely heading to the playoffs as the second place group, though the first placed team of the group of 2nd placed teams (that's a mouthful) will get direct qualification too. Right now that's Italy and we are level with them on points. So we want either Germany to drop the ball vs Malta and/or Georgia or Italy to drop points vs Poland and/or Armenia (and of course, for us to beat both Latvia and Northern Ireland).

I was just thinking how if there's any time we can sneak away with a result against Germany, this might be it - before Klopp gets his game properly instilled in a German team that's probably still reeling after the cup. We'll see!

And set up Tsimikas for his run/assist, in fact

Blackhawk are the choices of which games are televised simply a factor of how good the teams are? I.e., Larisa being a much bigger market than our previous opponents?

Yeah I was thinking Pavlenka is probably worse off there, but it seems a lot depends on exactly what needs to get repaired. I definitely hope Ali will be back in three months (and this issue will be actually corrected moving forward). This is probably going to accelerate Lisci's move to his preferred formations, especially since Giannoulis will be back up and running soon enough. Hope this works out.

Both Ali and Pavlenka will undergo surgery for their new dislocations. This will likely be a very long recovery time - from what I'm reading the arm has to be immobilized for up to six weeks, before they can even start rehab. I would not be shocked if their seasons are both over.

Annoying but at least we got the win. More concerned with Ali's injury - I can't imagine that two dislocations on the same arm don't result in him needing surgery. There's got to be a deeper issue there now. Fortunately I really like Shoretire!

Have we ever had a more injury-prone GK than Pavlenka? Good lord.

Great , Ali seems to have hurt the same arm that he previously dislocated

Never realized these guys had a lion king themed chant lol

Scrappy goal!!!

Good to see him score, I had a moment of panic when he rolled as part of his celebration hahaha

Magenta Sport 1? Is that Cosmote?

Doubt this, but we'll see. Attacking mid, on loan, short li'l guy: https://www.transfermarkt.us/justin-lerma/profil/spieler/1185507

It's been wild watching Biseswar play for a different team

Hopefully we don't get too complacent here. The Pelkas sub should mean we go for another goal...

That is NOT a penalty

Oh damn, that's a shame. Good luck to him. I guess the writing was on the wall when every coach didn't have an interest in playing him.

Seems we asigned this fella, either for our U19 or our B team (I have seen posts about both so I'm not sure which). He plays attacking midfield. He has an instagram page which seems practically brand-new, and lists PAOK there as well (and is sharing a welcome message from a fan account in his story). Seems like this truly is a done deal, in that case. https://www.instagram.com/yassineazz34/

Costa wasn't half bad, huh?

Wild that we didn't just see a third goal. Btw, AEK drew earlier. Interesting race is developing this season. Remember: one win and one loss is better than two draws 😉

First half of the half put me to sleep but yeah, this has been a greatly improved performance ever since. Zivkovic in particular is revved up

I'm confused about that...does that mean those designs were very misleading? They originally looked like the pitch would be uncovered but the stands would be under a roof. There's a side view 29 minutes in that makes it look like the previous renders, but the overhead shots shown today look VERY open/exposed. Perhaps these are just an "exploded" view so you can more easily see the seating arrangements? Unless you mean to question why the pitch is open at all? If that's your problem then I can't say I'm with you on that. -edit- the very next slide definitely still shows a roof so I'm guessing the bird's-eye views are just there to show the seating to us. Looks like Signal Iduna Park vibes -edit again- okay I guess the exterior is still somewhat a surprise in waiting. I'll stop 'livestreaming' my thoughts since every time I post, they show something different haha

He didn't board his flight so who knows, maybe one less loan after all!

We're still linked to every striker in the world. Here's another one, supposed we've "already agreed" to a loan deal. Considering how many other deals have been completed and then petered out, we'll see I guess. https://www.transfermarkt.com/simon-banza/profil/spieler/344869 https://inpaok.com/915677/to-deal-kai-to-aspromavro-story-me-banza/ How refreshing it will be to field an entire team made up of loanees.
