Ugh and Taylor as CM
-
Bet you they're going to make the update with another signing right before the game
-
I can't imagine we'll have a very different starting lineup than last game. Pelkas for Konstantelias, Chatsidis for Zivkovic. A shame Despodov still isn't able to play. I would also not be shocked if we play three CMs instead of Pelkas, though. Santamaria/Zafeiris/Camara.

Seems he's coming as a free agent? Not bad, but if he's any good then I wonder why he'd come to us at all. Hopefully this turns out all right.
-
Just noticed that Taha Ali is listed as expected to return on the 24th per Transfermarkt. I did see a report a week or so ago that he had started training again (but mostly separately) so hopefully he will be ready soon.

Done deal: I should also note that there are additional rumors that we're trying to take a few players on loan from BVB. I don't know how realistic these rumors are. I will say that Inacio would make some sense in Lisci's preferred formation. Especially if we don't play an actual #10 in some games. Samuele Inacio: plays SS https://www.transfermarkt.com/samuele-inacio/profil/spieler/1058359 Christos Kostoglou: plays midfield https://www.transfermarkt.com/christos-kostoglou/profil/spieler/1392938

Is now a good time to add that I'm a CR7 fan? 😉

Guys, Konstantelias might not even be clearly the best to come out of our academy in the past decade - Tzolis is looking mighty fine these days. I don't think we'll replace him with a transfer - I think we need to develop our own 'halo players.' Instead, however, this money can be spent reinforcing multiple positions with guys we may otherwise be priced out of. The sky is not falling; the team is not just one player.
-
Anyway - Jeremejeff's big offer appears to have come from a team in Jakarta, so he follows in the footsteps of Krmencik to get big money in Indonesia. Possibly even the same team? Good luck to him!

YOU RANG?
-
Tzolis with two assists in today's (Community Shield) win vs Manchester City. Our boy is gonna make us so proud
-
Ehh Lazio's fans are full-on boycotting their team so I think our problems are minor.

I have a friend who complains to me every winter that the city he lives in can't maintain its roads, the freeze/thaw cycle destroys the pavement, they never plow the snow well enough, they don't treat the roads for ice, etc etc. Then when he hears the city government is raising money for roadway improvements, his reaction is to say that they shouldn't get any money because he knows they will screw it up and not spend it well. Don't be that guy. You can't take step 2 without taking step 1.
-
Lol This is for the best! You can't operate a club by assuming we can't grow it and therefore shouldn't ever sell a guy when such a (literally?) golden opportunity arises.
-
Fans are all stupid. You shouldn't endlessly hold on to players just because it gives you the warm and fuzzies. We have a million kids that'll go through the academy. It's incredibly exciting to see who can come through next. Selling players like Konstantelias allows us to both pay for the pipeline, AND opens up a space! Anyway, another rumor for CB now that the Slovenian guy has negged us: https://www.transfermarkt.com/hjalmar-ekdal/profil/spieler/392179

Some rumors of Dortmund offering something in the 25-30mm range for Konstantelias, with his own salary to reach around 3 million/year. It will be really stupid of both us and him to not eventually agree to a transfer (though we should try to push those #s up). The guy who was their "plan A" netted a much larger offer from Dortmund, which was rejected, so clearly there is more room to make more money. And yes I know people think he won't want to leave or whatever. We still should sell him. We could be talking about an amount that will fundamentally reset this team's prospects for years to come, should we spend it wisely. Kamara apparently also rejected an offer from some Saudi team, because he thinks he has a chance at moving to a better league. I think the writing is on the wall with that guy, probably more imminently than Konstantelias. I'd be surprised if he's still with us in September.

Hey, that's GREEK SUPERCUP-WINNING TEAM OFI - put some respect on their name!
-
Another rumor that our third choice RB is Ruben Sanchez, who plays for Espanyol: https://www.transfermarkt.us/ruben-sanchez/profil/spieler/705813

Reports that we're getting Cherif Ndiaye from Samsunspor on loan. CF https://www.transfermarkt.com/cherif-ndiaye/profil/spieler/480705

Yeah my first thought was this fell apart because of the EL...
-
We are so unbelievably weak
-
I was just gonna say Gomez needs to come on. Baba is not good enough anymore. Giannoulis and Gomez are THE FUTURE, my boys!
-
What an infuriating match. Hopefully they can turn around our piss poor performance in the second half
-
Konstantelias gets the start:
-
Genuinely: we are better than them. We should be able to win this. Who starts in Konstantelias' position, I wonder? Assuming Lisci keeps the formation the same...gotta be Pelkas, right? Unless Shoretire has really impressed him. Or he decides to instead play a second striker. Oh God he's going to start Louchet there, isn't he...
