  1. Azevedo from what I saw he was all right. Not bad but we want great players, not just all right. In Matos and Vieirinha we have the two best full backs in Greece. I’d rather get Giannoulis from Atromito and give him game time. It’s been great to see Pelkas one of our boys become a proper first team player. Malezas I think we should renew even he doesn’t play much. Mak I hope we sign. I’m hoping he can find that form from two seasons ago when he was killing it. It will be interesting to see what happens with wingers next season with Mystakidis, Henrique, Warda still to come back. Mystakidis is going to struggle to get game time.
  2. Did you end up going to the game ?
  3. There’s a right way to do this and I thought they did it well. Good on them. Nothing disrespectful in what they said. I’m just so glad for the players and fans we got something from this season. We sure deserved it. Sheez we gave AEX a beating! Hopefully many more to come. As for myself I’ve been doing random fist pumps the last few days and can’t stop smiling. Might have to go see a doctor soon if this doesn’t stop.
  4. I’ve been very impressed with him. Not so much the tactics as that is subjective anyway. But the way he seems to have won over the players. We should also note that he has the team playing at a good level more consistently than ... well ever. There, now he’s jinxed.
  5. Contracts expiring are Malezas, Azevedo and Mak. Malezas is a tricky one. He’s a leader and been great for the club but maybe it’s time to move on. Then again maybe he can play one more season.
  6. One more season for Biseswar although I hope we renew him for many years to come. Maybe he can become our next “Vukic” like super sub.
  7. Aye, I’ll be surprised (but very happy) if we can keep them all. All 3 will be hard to replace. People think we’ll just use any new money to get replacements but it isn’t always that simple. Players like Prijovic and even Biseswar (good lord I love his old school style of play) don’t come around to often. Pelkas FINALLY has become a man and understands how to impose himself on a game and how to play to his strengths. Another one who’ll be hard to replace.
  8. If we kept Prijovic AND we got a quality DM AND a CB similar to Varela, I think we could take on Ajax. Not that we couldn't beat them now but realistically the odds are the usual 75/25.
  9. Foreign referee. Shameful that it has to resort to this. Necessary, and yet still shameful.
  10. Better for Paschalakis. The NT culture is toxic. I only hope he doesn't take it to heart.
  11. Paschalakis not getting called up should bother me.
  12. Mao Mao. Mao Mao. I'm sure Melissanidis would be just as generous with his "invitation" if PAOK had somehow won in the courts. Mao Mao. Mao Mao.
  13. Ha ha ha. I'm sure he's trying to legitimize the Cup somehow. I think he knows the "sta xartia" tag is gonna stick for ... for ever.
  14. Ha ha ha. Don't you know ... by Greek standards that IS professional !!
  15. I actually prefer Vieirinha as left back. If you were the opposition full back, who would you prefer to have to mark. Mak and Vierinha or Vieirinha and Azevedo/Leovac. It's like you're playing with 2 wingers on that flank. And it's not like he doesn't know how to defend. He's been doing it in Germany for 5 years. Vieirinha, you can tell by watching, is light years ahead of most players in the GSL. I didn't want him to come to Greece but he's proved me very very wrong. End of the day, I think he plays better facing forward rather than with his back to goal. If we find a LB that has the attacking qualities of a Matos then fine but that's not easy to find. Matos, he's not normal. I think the most important position to fill is DM, by a long shot. Followed by CB. Then, it depends on who leaves. Obviously if Prijo leaves that becomes top priority.
  16. One rule for some and another rule for others. I like how EPO made a rule but when PAO were on the cliff's edge they were eager to overturn it. Integrity hey. But hey it makes sense. PAO is a bigger club than clubs like Milan, Juve. Even with Rangers, the other clubs in Scotland had the guts to punish them. In Greece everyone is bought and sold. A rule was made at the beginning of the season but (and this is important) it was never really intended for clubs like PAO. There are rules for the "commoners" and for the "elite" there are others. PAO ... the elite. Elite indeed. I did always think PAO would be saved at the last minute but I never thought it would be like this. The ironic thing is it solves nothing. Ouzonidis has one foot out the door. What talented players PAO does have (and they actually do have a very good youth academy) will leave the club for better offers or just for the prospect of actually being paid. Alafouzos has somehow managed to desecrate a club with so much history and EPO and the other clubs instead of throwing him out on his ass pander to him. The GSL definitely needs PAO. But not a PAO that is like this. Better off getting relegated and coming back with a new owner rather than this sickly team they are now. The 0-3 we got in Athens, in year gone by, I would've been so happy with such a result. This result felt like ... nothing really.
  17. Great news for Alafouzos. How much lower can he sink PAO ?
  18. Yeah man. The club realising this has been going for 2nd position all year. Seeing that it was very possible we could get 1st position (and hence the more difficult path) the club had to somehow ensure 2nd spot. This is the real reason why Savvidis stormed the pitch with a gun. Mission accomplished. If only AEK knew that we didn’t really want to win the title. If I ever come to Canada, I want to go to the bouzoukia with you.
  19. Only league winners have any (slim) chance of making CL. Have you seen what PAOK would have to do to qualify for CL ? If you don't get that 1st spot it's too difficult.
  20. Ha ha, never on paper! Nice post Blackhawk.
  21. Congratulation boys. Back where you belong. Good luck for next year.
  22. The papers are reporting that if we don't turn up we get a 2 year ban from Europe. Relegation maybe ? Not sure. I just skimmed the article. As to what is real and what isn't, not sure yet. I think we have to turn up. I just would ask EPO to not issue any official tickets to our fans. Not sure how that would go down with EPO but if that was acceptable to them, that would be the path I would take. I think the ideal solution for EPO is to make the match look "normal" i.e. have home and away fans, because FIFA are watching. Problem is, EPO and the Greek state can't guarantee safety. Guarantee is a strong word actually. That implies they have some semblance of competence, which they do not. Maybe we can buy up the tickets and pass them on to Syrian refugees instead ?
  23. I give up. AEK is the BEST team in Greece. They deserve it ... because they 100% would have won even if PAOK didn't get between -6 and -9 points deductions. Don't come onto this forum after one year and start calling me s-h-i-t. If you were in front of me, I'd smack in the mouth. Use those sayings for your buddies over at s-e-d-r-a. P-A-P-A-R-A, e p-a-p-a-r-a.
  24. I'm not worried about the setup. I'm worried it's going to be a bloodbath both on and off the field. The whole situation is a powder keg. Woe to the poor soul that has to referee that game.
