  1. I actually forgot that Barbosa will be out for the next match due to cards. In that case I think its okay to go with Poyiet's lineup. Or we can stick to the 4-2-3-1 and try out Soiledi as a LW, I actually think he's well suited for that position.
  2. Well said! Demi summed it up best in his last on air interview: "An den eixe adikhthei h AEK to 2008 tha pername ta 20 ekat. apo to Champions League, tha ksexrewname, kai twra tha me legate enan apo tous kalhterous proedrous ollon twn epoxwn." That was the year that AEK needed 8 million euros the subsequent summer to sustain the roster. Take into consideration the year that Vasara cost us a place in the champions league and also take into consideration, like JVC mentioned, the countless points dropped(especially in the head to head derbies) and you realize why AEK got to the point the team got, in a period where no other team in the league had even close to a stronger backing from their fanbase.
  3. Very good! You catch on quick huh? Now Idk about everything in your history but for the last 17 years for sure.
  4. Every corrupt mega rich tycoon has donated money to some organization or fund in order to boost their public relations image or get some sort of tax break. That's how you have things like Carnegie Hall for instance. Mellisanidi has also donated to numerous funds, led a soccer team into a war torn country as a sign of morale support, and is a huge leader and contributor within the Pontian society. The truth is that Mellisanidi just like Marinaki made a portion of his fortune through illegal means just like a lot of ultra rich people in Greece who have evaded taxes and just like many people involved in soccer in general. BUT let me highlight something to people like Greeko that might seem earth shattering at first but I assure you it'll sink in at some point after hours of hard thinking. I'll take it slowly: This webpage is something called a forum. Every forum has sub topics or "threads" that talk about different things. But for the most part forums tend to have a predominant topic or overall theme. There are two predominant topics or themes in Phantis.com that bring users together to chat or converse. One of them is being Greek/Greece and the other is..............wait for iiitttttt.............SOCCER or what many people call, FOOTBALL. Okay? Did we get that part out of the way? Now, keeping in mind that this is a S.O.C.C.E.R. forum it is most likely that many of our conversations will revolve around....wait for it again.......SOCCERR. I feel like we might be making a lot of progress here so I'll fast forward to the point. The problem with Marinaki is not that he is a corrupt piece of s%$#!, because as I highlighted before, Melisanidi has done illegal things too. The problem is that he is corrupt within the context of the word we used before: SOCCER. Within the world of soccer Melisanidi (and most of the Greek soccer world) is asking for a leveled playing field whereas Marinaki is running a soccer mafia that he uses to extort millions of euros a year. Within the context of the Supeleague, Marinaki is using his corruption to turn the league into his own personal cash cow. Something you can't say about Melisanidi, Savidi, or Allafouzo. Also before you start throwing jabs about the stadium, take some time to look into how Olympiako built their stadium and about a certain team called Ethniko.
  5. Honestly, Im not too crazy about this line-up especially because it excludes our most in form player- Barbosa. It also excludes Galo who has been very good. If were going to plat a rombo id much rather see a 4-1-4-1 rombo: ---------Djebbour/Arava------------ --------Mandalos-------------- ---Barbosa---------Simoes ------------Cordero------------ ------------Johanson------------- Didac----------------------Bakakis/Galo -------Kolo--------Artho-------- --------------Baroja--------------- Mandalo and Barbosa can alternate throughout the game, same goes for Simoes and Galo when Galo is in.
  6. At this point this is just one big addiction. We know deep down inside that Greece is too corrupt for anything to change yet somehow we tune in every weekend to watch. Its a kapsoura, that is all.
  7. Give it a rest man. Okay we get it, its worse. A lot of us agree, but damn its annoying to hear the same thing over and over and over and over. Not trying to insult you but repetition has its limits.
  8. These last few games are a big serving of humble pie for everyone who was saying Platella isn't good enough. At least when Platella plays you can see the guy bleeding for the jersey, not walking off the field looking like he's about to give the opposing team a round of foot massages like a certain Lampropoulo who should be thanking his lucky stars he's playing for AEK.
  9. Thank god for Paok's epic F*** up or we'd be in a huge battle right now. Honestly today we lost a huge chance to leave Paok behind us in the playoff race. If the man child doesn't get fined there are some serious managerial issues within this team.
  10. F*** VARGAS. What a piece of s%$#! little pussy brat . Who the F*** does things like that? What are you 12? I want to see this piece of s%$#! fined. He was 100% of the reason why we lost. Put Platella in who gives his heart and soul for this team and let that piece of s%$#! rot on the bench. Buonannotte really is too soft. He can get around defenders but the second someone gets within range he can blow him off the ball. Chrisantus needs to go ASAP, this guy isn't even a soccer player let alone a foward. Aravidi also needs to get his s%$#! together because he is not cutting it. Djebour looks like he's just chilling having a grand old time on the sidelines. TO POULO. Mandalo was off today blowing a 4 on 2 counter attack and giving some shitty passes the rest of the time. He didn't play too well in the last game either but at least he's good 80% of the time. Also Lampropoulo needs to leave too. There is no place for a player like that on AEK. We just went a man down in the first half and he walks off the field and into the locker room with his arm around an Astera player buddy buddy like they're about to go toss each other's salads in the back. This falls right in line with his post game comments after the gauro game last year. Learn where you're allegiances are and learn how to act in public you moron. There's no place for mercenaries in AEK.
  11. Honestly Buonannotte is doing something wrong. Maybe he isn't putting his best into practice or he's not gelling well. Idk but its no surprise that no one trusts him to start.
  12. From what I've seen I'd say so too
  13. Thats true and Apoel can spank most teams in the superleague nowadays. Unfortunately other than Inglesias, Kourbeli, Sankare, and Papadopoulo, I don't know much about this year's Astera but all of the listed players are guns. Papadopoulo isn't AEK material but he's still dangerous and Giannou I haven't seen play but I hear good things about him. Our flimsy CF position will have a hard time against their defenders if poyiet can't find solutions. Is Mandalo cleared to play, or will he most likely be on the bench?
  14. This game is by far one of the most important games this season for a few reasons: 1. Panionio won today passing us in the standings. 2. In the event that we lose, Astera surpasses us in the standings as well. 3. PAOK is outside of the playoffs right now. Not only will we get closer to him in the standings but I really don't see PAOK staying outside of the playoffs, they're probably going to get the win against panthrakiko tomorrow at home, and so not getting the three points tomorrow will put us in a very difficult race. The fans need to show up to this match and original needs to stop their stupid little karta filathlwn bullshit, so they can further push the team to a win.
  15. That might be the case but Spano has taken many positions against AEK in the past that can't be forgotten over night. Regardless though, even if we weren't taking about Atromito, its a shame for Della to even think what he thought, unless it was in the form of a loan of course.
  16. He's pulling some Bajevic s%$#! right now. If he wants them loaned then okay otherwise just the thought of bringing them to Atromito to play for one of the gauro pawn teams is insulting. Anakoglou might not be getting playing time right now, but Platella is an important part of our team and so are Soiledi and Tzanetopoulo as we are thin in those positions. He just spit in all our faces as far as I'm concerned. No one said don't go to another team, but keep AEK's players out of it.
  17. Im right in line with Amorgos' comments, wasn't 100% sure that Chrisantus was useless and now I'm pretty sure. He's so bad that a small run to get a corner makes you feel like he's doing something. As for the line up, I wish it wasn't against one of the hardest teams in the league but since we have no choice this is a good chance for the underdogs to show us what they're worth. A chance for Soiledi to prove he has a place on this squad and for Buonnanotte to show us he can start a game and lead the offense, if he starts.
  18. Honestly though if you're a real man and you wear pants as he likes to give us the impression straight up tell us, "Xamila oi tonoi fetos paidia, tha einai h prwth xronia kai den tha xalasoume polla lefta" I would have respected that much more than hyping us all up with bullshit claims and a cocky attitude only to half ass our signings and go ghost for the next 5 months.
  19. He didn't say he's going to bring big names specifically but he said he was going to spend this summer to bring good players and every need the team has will be taken care of. His exact words were "Tha valoume lefta wste na feroume opion paikth xriazetai h omada" When we (15 people at least) heard that and got excited he added to the hype saying things like we're going to be the surprise of the season etc. Not once did I hear something along the lines of "Were going to be conservative this season since its only our first year back" In my opinion his signings were a joke this year. Under no circumstances do you spend less money in your "Erxomaste" year than in B division and leave us with a player like Chrisantus and Artho in the back. Let us thnk our lucky stars that Didac came through for us because they almost botched that position as well. Also while he was at the fan club he made it a point to talk about the corruption in the league and how we were going to tackle the system. These words were said to us and to a journalist who was at the club. Again words with no actions there. To this day his words are quoted int he fan club by anyone who was there that day he came. He pretty much was feeding us what we wanted to hear.
  20. Original I have heard the words come out of his mouth in person regarding signings. Idk about the protathlima talk but the signings he did say I can assure you.
  21. Well put Greekfreak, I'm pretty much in the same boat right now. I should however add that I'm happy that Melisanidi actually made the right move here rather than get stingy and bring in a tsioli or something like that. The one pro that Poyiet has, as opposed to Della, is that you paid for this guy so now you have to also please him and provide him with what he needs for success or else that money is put to waste. Whereas with Della, they took half assed decisions on the premise that Della is our guy and that we're doing him a favor raising him as a coach. In essence he was their "yes" man. Even if Della wanted more players I don't think his word counted as much as Poyiet's will.
  22. Aaaa ree Manolara!!! Missed you man! Thank you brother!
  23. Ill tell you guys what the difference is between today's AEK and the gauro team. Take our first 3 goals, rule them offside....let Iraklh score off of a foul......completely different game....THATS the difference.
  24. My issue is in the fact that with these moves they basically validate the gauro win and the gauro in general. I still think in my opinion had we been playing in a professional league and not a mob run cirminal organization, then Della would not be forced to chase the game at the 70th minute and we could continue with what was working. I still think that had the game not progressed the way it did and it remained 0-0 till the 90th they would have found a way to stick it to us regardless just like last year. You can put Mourinho as coach and put Messi on our team, bottom line is when the ref is whistling 90-10 till the 70th minute and the opponent scores off of a moufa goal , no one can win under these circumstances. Della or no Della
