  1. Arava misses a big chance! Second tet a tet lost today!! Cmonn!!!
  2. Thats not a bad line up in my opinion...lets see how things go... Anyone have a link?
  3. I think it can work because Della is thinking about putting Mandalo next to Simoes anyway so in the even that the formation really is too risky and we see our selves getting attacked too often we can easily revert back to 4-2-3-1. 4-1-4-1 or (4-5-1) and 4-3-3 , are way too defensive. 4-5-1 is better but at the same time we are lacking a real deadly striker so our CF can easily be isolated by opposition. I think our squad is too young and too mistake prone to put so many players behind the ball. Offense in our case is our best defense as the longer we endure attacks the more likely we are to get scored on, as we saw with mpaok.....most teams in the league have at least one deadly mak or napoleoni type player that can put us away with one mistake.
  4. I just wish Della would grow some balls and use this stretch of bad form from Johanson to let him rest and test the 4-1-3-2 PLEASE DELLA PLEASE! And we can let Mandalo and Buonannote alternate and in the event that we need defensive reinforcement you can even put Mandalo next to Simoes......it makes a lot of sense! ----------------------Aravas------------------ ---------------Buonnanotte------------------------- Barbosa--------Mandalo------------Platella --------------------Simoes---------------------------- Didac------------------------------------------Galo ----------Tzane-------------Kolo--------------------- -------------------Baroha---------------------------------
  5. I'm not saying Buonnanotte is worse than Barbosa or Platella, all I'm saying is that the guy isn't 100% ready yet, and he isn't a winger. We're wasting him on the wing, were tiring him out on the wing, and at the end of the day on a good day Barbosa can do better in that position especially on defense. I agree, there's definitely space for both Buonnanotte and Mandalo in the starting line up, with Barbosa in there as well. But there is no space for Mandalo, Buonannotte AND vargas in the starting line up. I'm afraid were gonna be force fed this line up for a while.....lets hope it works out and were wrong, and Della is right.
  6. This is getting really frustrating. The worst thing you can do is try the same failed recipe and expect different results. These are definitely orders given from higher ups in order to validate their transfer policy this passed summer. That is the only real explanation I can think of. Buonannotte and Vargas are not ###### wingers and they don't have the conditioning right now to pull 90 minutes off on the wing and be able to provide help for our backs on the wing. By wasting players in positions they are not effective in you are crippling your self in the second half because you now have to make individual changes to positions and waste your substitutions on single positions rather than making changes that can affect the formation of the team as a whole or the way with which the team plays. If we don't get lucky and see some form of individual brilliance to bring us goals in the first half, its going to be the same confusing shitt that we saw in the mpaok and veria games in the second half. Were gonna see more of Mandalo and Vargas playing every position on the field while one of the two looks like he's about to faint from exhaustion. Were going to face Napoleoni and Umbides with Vargas and Soiledi!!!! Am I the only one who realizes how stupid this is? Also as of today I'll never mention the words big three or three or anything that creates distinctions in the team. On his good days Barbosa is just as capable as Vargas and Buonnanotte and yet him and Platella are rotting on the bench right as they both found their form.
  7. All I'm saying is there is no room to be around next week and leaving our wings exposed, Ubintes and Napoleoni will have a field day with our backs if Della makes the same mistakes.
  8. BTW I almost forgot. The refereeing was a TRAVESTY today. Veria were boxing with us at one point and no calls were going our way. Something needs to happen , someone within the PAE needs to put some pressure on EPO. There were plays where I was scared for our players especially Mandalo and Buonnanotte who were getting pounced on. I'm afraid that if this continues and players don't get the cards they deserve its going to be a rough season.
  9. Today was the answer for those that still believe we can play all three big 3 and still perform. You cant take 3 dekaria/AM's and turn them into wingers. The same exact thing that happened in Toumba happened today: 1. Diego and Vargas were gassed out the first half and in the second half were either non-existent or completely out of it. Getting second to the ball, sloppy passing, bad runs, etc. and the cherry on top was Vargas' misses tet-a-tet give away with the goalie. They offered no help on defense and so we got the first goal scored on us and once again galo was left stranded on the wing. When Della going to realize that they are not wingers?! Neither is Aravidi! 2. Della was a ###### mess out there and we got really lucky to get out of there with 3 points. At most points int he game you didn't even know wtf the formation was, and I don't even think he knew what it was. No one was in their position, no one knew where to mark, and the formations were all messed up. All you had to do was look at Vargas throughout the game. He started on the wing, then he was put in the center, then he was moved up to CF!!!! In CF position we saw one of the most embarrassing plays where the ball flies right over him and Aravidi and neither of them were able to head it (right before our first goal). Then by the end of the game....this gets good..............he ends the game as DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER.....At the fan club we were joking about how he might play as a goalkeeper before the game ends. By the 80th minute Vargas couldn't even bring the ball up the field. Mandalo was also wasted in the same manner. 3. Didac did really well! Both in his offensive and defensive duties, the guy was everywhere! Along with Simoes these two were breathing life into a dead line up. 4. Barbosa's goal was awesome, and his non- celebration was almost too gangsta. He pretty much told Della " You cut my wings right as I was getting heated up" I feel like we have very short memories and forget the player he was before his injury last year. There was no reason to bench him after the PAS game as he was one of our top performers. As soon as Barbosa and Platella came on, the team had a new energy and started dominating. Which brings me to my next point. 5. Players like Platella need to start right now. The guy was on fire and in his best form before Della benched him for no reason. This is how you ruin someone's momentum and psychology. 6. Johanson needs a breather. I think its the heat taking a toll on him, but it seems like he's lost his cool. Maybe its time to give Cordero a go or maybe try a more attacking 4-1-3-2 and see if that solves our problems with finishing. Its simple! Stop ###### with the lineup, us the line up we had last season with a few good additions. Stop trying to force players into the least convenient positions for them. He's burning our players out with these stupid line ups and we look tired as F*** by the second half. Stop force feeding us Mandalo, Diego, and Vargas at the same time when its obvious that none of them or at least 2 of the 3 are not 100%
  10. What a questionable decision, if Kolovetsio is healthy there's no reason for Lampropoulo.....
  11. WTF is Lambropoulo doing in there?
  12. I love Georgea and he might work out well for us, but at the same time all I'm saying is there should be system of check and balanaces within the club.
  13. I think I'm somewhere in the middle on this topic. I see what everyone else is saying in regards to stability and having such a successful figure leading our team but at the same time Original21 has a good point as well. There is a little taste of Dusan in a lot of questionable activity at the club these last few years. Important figures like Aki Ziko leaving and Manola coming back, for instance, are unnecessary things that hold the team back. In my opinion Bajevic should have a post, but we also need someone impartial and active (melissanidi is not active) to look over his decisions, OR he needs to have some of his authority removed. This is AEK not a "Lets reunite the old gang" party.
  14. looks like Della is leaning toward a 4-2-3-1 putting Mandalo in Simoes' place. Don't know how I feel completely about that but the good part is that it can easily be transitioned if we see our team needing more offense. The issue is that Della has to get over his post-2008-Bajevic syndrome and be more proactive rather than sit back and let a failing tactic lose us the game.
  15. Thanks for the heads up man! I think the absence of Simoes is a good opportunity to play the 4-1-3-2 and see what we can do on offense with Arava and Diego up front. Might even consider playing Cordero to give Johanson a breather. -------------Baroja------------- Galo----Kolo------Tzane-----Didac --------------Johanson--------- Platella------Mandalo-------------Barbosa ------------------------Diego------------------- -------------Aravas--------------------------- ^ I think this line up is fire and a good opportunity to see what our attacking capabilities are with one DM. Can you imagine the link ups between Diego, Mandalo, Arava, and our wingers coming into the box form time to time? Not to mention that Diego and Mandalo can alternate as Mandalo can also play as an AM.
  16. @ Doxa, one of the parties who has also faced many allegations of corruption and stealing is KKE. So you see, the irony behind your statements praising Syriza as a "clean" people's party, is that a large percentage of Syriza is made up of former Pasok and KKE bouleftes. Kameno, although one of the better politicians in Greece, in my opinion, was also a former ND boulefti. So it seems that reshuffling the cards to come to an end result of a clean and righteous political party is unlikely, and you've come down with a serious case of wishful thinking. As far as Golden Dawn are concerned I feel like Greeks have made it a habit of focusing on the tree and losing the forest. Their short shortsightedness has led them to a scapegoating which hunt to find WHO voted for XA, rather than WHY they voted for them. Why is it that in the last few years 7-15% of the country have voted for a party led by someone who clearly shows signs of a sociopath? I don't think Xrish Augh are the devil that the media makes them out to be but at the same time you cannot envision a serious country being led by someone like Mixaloliako. So I ask again, what have these people gone through to have placed their hope in a party like XA? What do they encounter in their everyday lives that has led them to make such a decision? These are people who are experiencing NEGLECT. Neglect from their very own government who is pocketing hundreds of millions (this period alone) in order to pretend to turn Greece into a welcoming center for a muslim invasion that is being financed by ultra rich industrialists looking to outsource the local population on domestic soil, and supported by pseudo intellectuals who are plagued by white-guilt (self hatred) and so have sold their ethnic identity in exchange for an ideological identity that goes against their interests. The end product is Greeks in Northern Epirus being subjected to albanian state sponsored genocide, Islands turned into rest rooms for rioting ILLEGAL immigrants, Thraki a few steps from being the next Kosovo, and Greeks in Greece being afraid to walk around in their neighborhoods in fear of being robbed or assaulted. Here's the CHE21QNS one day challenge: Take a stroll through the Pirea port in the morning, then in the afternoon head to Menidi in Athens, and end your day walking through Omonoia. Then (if you are still physically in tact and have all your possessions on you of course) let me know how exactly you feel, and let me know if at the end of the day you don't find your self a step closer to supporting XA. The sad truth is that at many points in my 2.5 month trip to Greece I found my self for moments at a time turning into a Xrisaugith, not out of genuine support for the party, but out of anger, anguish, and neglect. When the local immigrants have just damaged the public wiring for the street lamps in your neighborhood and you restore the lights to a neighborhood with THREE robbed houses in one night, only to have the authorities tell you they cant do anything......you start to see why XA are a mainstay power in Greece nowadays. Truth is Doxa, that since your "clean" government is too busy taking European subsidies to turn Greece into a metaphoric spaghetti strainer for the rest of Europe, abandoned Greek citizens have turned to a psychopath (Mixaloliako) to be the ONE voice against the invasion of Greece. Long live Syriza.......
  17. I think we need to find an unimportant game, like a friendly or against an out of form opponent and test the 4-4-2 diamond. We actually have a good record with that formation unlike the 4-3-3. Personally I think its way better than 4-3-3. The problem with 4-3-3 wasn't just the lack of wide options and cover on the wings but the lack of offense going forward. Anakoglou was supposed to be the creative player linking the offense with the defense but he was overwhelmed, leaving Simoes as the only one at least attempting to make moves forward. The biggest problem is that we went in so defensively oriented and so dependent on a counter attack that when we actually got the ball we didnt know what to do with it. 4-4-2 might actually work because Simoes has experience playing wide on the right so I think he can help cover Galo since we have more attacking options on the field. Up front it would be perfect as you are right Diego is a Scocco type player who would not only deliver in that position but he would help Aravidi too, and this would ease the headache we face at times in the CF position. However the formation does have its drawbacks too. The drawbacks being that I feel Mandalo's attacking abilities would be somewhat wasted as he would not only worry about moving farther up the field than usual but would also have to worry about coming back to cover on the wing. In essence, in this position he would become a role player, and I think Mandalo is more of a leader on this team. Another drawback is that in the event that they are on an off day you've made your bench thin by putting all our options out at once. Vargas will run out of steam by the 65th minute and Diego might as well. So I guess we'd have to wait till Cordero and Mandalo are fully in form so that Cordero can come in and let Mandalo move up in Vargas' place. Or maybe that could be a better starting line up and then bring Vargas in, in the second half for that burst of energy and creativity. ----------------------------Baroja-------------------------- Galo--------Kolo-----------------------Tzane--------Didac -------------------------Johanson-------------------------------- ------------Simoes----------------------Cordero--------------------- -------------------------Mandalo-------------------------------------- ------------Diego-----------------------Arava--------------- We can also play a flat 4-4-2 , that would provide help on the wings as well. I've seen Simoes' old games and he can play on the wing so I don't think he'd have a problem being Left Mid in a more wide position to be able to cover Galo as well. Barbosa helps add creativity, and he also comes back on defense. --------------------------Baroja---------------------------- Galo---------Kolo-----------------Tzane------------Didac Simoes-------Mandalos------Vargas-------Barbosa --------------Diego-----------------Aravidis---------------------- What I would personally prefer is if we stuck with 4-2-3-1, and if we can't create offensively we switch to 4-1-3-2 in the second half by taking out which ever DM is less effective and throwing in a midfielder. So we can start like this: -------------------------Baroja------------------------------ Galo----------Kolo------------------Tzane------------Didac --------------Simoes-----------Johanson-------------------- Platella--------------Mandalos------------------Diego ---------------------Aravas------------------------------------ and then by the end of the game switch to this by subbing Simoes or Johanson for Barbosa.....and Platella for Vargas. --------------------Baroja---------------------- Galo-------Kolo-------------Tzane----------Didac --------------------Simoes------------------------- Vargas--------Mandalos------------Barbosa -----------Diego----------------Aravas--------------
  18. Yeaa, people take Platella for granted but the guy does a lot of subtle things on the field that help both Galo and the team out greatly. I also agree, we only have the luxury of playing 2 of the 3 big three at the same time, otherwise, unless their 1000% in shape , were wasting them on the wing. I think your idea works best because out of the 3 Vargas has the worst stamina at the moment, so he's good for a nice burst of energy in the second half.
  19. You can't do 4-3-3 when the wingers that are expected to do extra work defensively are unready. Like I mentioned the other day this was Buonannotte's second game starting and Vargas is also unready, barely being able to get 65 minutes out of a game. On top of them being unready you pretty much leave them isolated to both fend for themselves in offense AND try to help out on defense. The perfect way of burning them out, which is what we saw. Next tactical error is that you leave Soiledi on the wing and on an off day leave galo alone too. Mpaok was smart in taking advantage of our isolated wing backs by often times throwing Mak and Pelka to help on the wings. They were running circles around our wing backs, because the guys had no help while mpaok had the luxury of having reinforcements as they already had a deep midfield. Simoes and Johanson didn't have space to move, and anakoglou was lost out there daydreaming. This game was a tactical disaster and its a ###### shame, you know why? Because we really could have hit this mpaok straight on. Their finishing was terrible, their defense wasn't anything spectacular, and we went ahead on our only chance up until then. Instead of taking that opening to balance the game and put the final nail in the coffin, Della decided to become a spectator and let mpaok take back the game. Another ###### shame is that we made Tzioli and tzevella magkes. Two players who in my opinion are ampaloi (especially tzioli) and we made them look like star players. Tzioli won the victory deciding penalty for F***sss sake!! Things were simple: At the half you take out Anakoglou and put in Barbosa. You pull Vargas (or Buonnanotte) to the middle to organize and get a breather. This way you just got more creative in the middle and you're back to a 4-2-3-1. By the 65th if we still haven't won the middle, you throw in Mandalo for Vargas and you let him wreak havoc. If by that time the game still hasn't balanced and theres still enough pressure on Soiledi for him to make five turn overs in a row, you put in Didac to at least cover that individual weakness. But honestly had our wingbacks had proper help on defending the wing, I don't even know if Soiledi would of been in the mental state he was when he committed the penalty. The 4-3-3 had us so F***ed from the start that we didn't have enough subs to plug in every hole. There was no way to put in Didac to plug the hole on the left and no also put in Platella to help on the right......ta ekane thallassa o Traianos shmera My mind is just blown at the logic, or lack of logic, behind playing Soiledi by himself as an LB to defend the entire wing. How in the world did Della not see a problem with that?
  20. Another observation is that I really hope Buonnanotte doesn't turn into another Scocco who was begging us to play him in his real position. Buonnanotte is not a winger. As much as we hate it , the reality of things is that the big 3 dont fit into a starting lineup together. The only positive about this game was seeing how Mandalo was able to change the entire image of our team in 15 minutes. When he is starting we are going to be tough to beat.
  21. I really cant blame the players, this was all Della. It looked like he didnt know anything about his own team out there today. Simoes and Johanson are good when they have space around them to beat offensive players and create something interesting. By moving Johanson and Simoes closer to each other on the right and Anakoglou on the left he suffocated them. We knew mpaok would come into the game with 5 players in the midfield so why tf are we congesting the DM position even more? It pains me to say it but for the first time in a year, we were playing anti-soccer out there.....Paok was trying to play, our team made it hard for every fan's eyes. Della needs to change his ways because seeing something not work and only changing it after the 75th minute is tragic.
  22. The Simoes play was 100% a penalty but we didn't deserve anything from this game so I dont even care about talking about it. Della went in treating mpaok like they were barcelona. EXACTLY what we said would happen, HAPPENED. 1. Buonannotte and Vargas were gassed out by the 35th minute. At one point they themselves didn't know what their position was, just so they can get a touch of the ball. This was understandable as Soiledi needed back up on like six occasions where he couldn't complete the simplest of passes. 2. Why was Soiledi even in there? Are you playing defensively or not? You put a defensive formation in the game but put a defensively inept player. 3. The team is not working out everyone could smell the bbq from miles away. PSINOTAN TO GOAL. WHY did Della wait till the 75th minute to take out Anakoglou and change the formation. He thought by simply putting in a fresher player in the same position till the 75th that we would play better. The formation was the same, all he was doing was throwing players into quicksand, wasting them on a shitty formation. 4. For the first time I realized something. Soiledi has no place on this team. There is a difference between underperforming once in a while and being tragic to the point of turning the ball over four times in a row, being a defensive liability and then costing the team the game. He was out of his element, and he needs to be benched until he can improve. Anakoglou has no place in the starting line up and has Absolutely no place with the captains armband on. As much as it pains me to say, he was an indifferent KREAS out there, as if he was soulless. Didn't help out in defense, nothing on offense, was pacing around at points, etc. This game was lost by one man. DELLAS. Thats all I have to say. Hopefully this is the last time we see the dreaded 4-3-3
