  1. I personally wouldnt mind Samara, I think he has the attributes of the player we need, when fit. Just the mention of Papadopoulo however brings me nausea.
  2. I wouldnt mind Samara, i think he would gel well with this team.
  3. I wouldnt think we had 3 holes either, if we had a capable medical team. But knowing our medical staff, our luck, and a deteriorating OAKA field. I think we have a hole in the CB position as I dont rate Lampropoulo or Artho, and a potential hole on the left if there is an injury or if Barbosa continues to underperform. At minimum I think we needed 2 serious transfers to make a run at the title. Look even now were good but were gonna have to be lucky as the two ends of our line up (offense and defense) are thin, depth wise.
  4. The only solution now would be for Della to be able to find a way to rotate the squad and scheme so that Arava can get some back up on days where we will be looking for more attacking options. Im thinking on more attack oriented match days we push Mantalo up the field, play with one DM and switch from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-1-3-2 with Mantalo behind Arava. Unfortunately we would have to possibly bench Simoes or Johanson but a possible line up could be: ------Aravidis------ ---- Mantalos------------ Vargas----Diego-------Platellas ---------Johanson----------- Didac-------------------Galo Or if Platella isnt in Form move galo up and put Simoes RB
  5. This is one of the few times where I am agreeing with the bitching squad on AEK365. This move to leave the team without a class striker makes us look very weak. We left three major holes unplugged and its a shame because we have a quality squad that is just a few good signings short of suprising the league. Real shame and really demoralizing for our fans. I would still love to get Samara or Berbatov as free agent but even that seems unlikely.
  6. Aaa wraia file , kalos hrthes! Come to the fan club in Astoria whenever you can, tha ta poume kai apo konta! Right now im still in Greece on vacation but i get back on wednesday. As for the game. We look so good in the midfield but were just missing that one player to drill the ball in. Arava cant do it on his own week in and week out, and Chrisantus just isnt cutting it. If we dont sign a striker today its gonna be a tough season
  7. They should be , go to the one on Steinway ...are you from New York?
  8. Also rumors stating that the gauro is trying to come in and snatch Ibisevic. If we lose him to them, they better make up for it with a quality CF as it will be a big morale blow
  9. Even from the petalo Johannsons quality sticks out, he reminds me alot of Diop. Powerful, hard to get off the ball, silky smooth play, and organize well to the front. If he continues like this help easily surpass Diop
  10. Getting close to the end here, Fereira looks really good but seems to only be a loan option. If he can get us into Europe or a run at CL im fine with that. Need a CF no matter what though as Chrisantus doesnt seem to be impressing. Kind of annoyed that we havent gotten amother CB though....if something happens to Kolovetsio were stuck with Lampropouli, and Artho has disappeared again
  11. Good to see some avatars in here rather than a bunch of manikins speaking to each other haha....its like they become a part of you---amorgo for example, will always be the race car driver in my head hahaha Manolara was always Jesus Navas, Dikefale youve grown well into Melissanidi lmao Anyway, i think we should start the 2nd half Platania line up and throw Barbosa on the left, and then put Buonnanote in later. Pigadia have always been a tough place to play in, and idk if Diego has gelled enough with the squad yet, not to mention you never know what youll get pitch wise so its kind of risky. As far as Mantalo goes i think he should only get thrown in if we have a comfortable lead otherwise im fine with him subbing in during the Pas game. This is a very tough game, as Ksanthi and Agrinio away have probably been the toughest non-Athens/Thessalonikh teams the past seasons.
  12. Anyone know what happened to Douni?
  13. Our handling of the CF position this year has been a joke. In what world was djebbour the "leader" that would guide our offence? Also Luca is important as well as strengthening the left side and rotating Soiledi and Didac, because yes Soiledi has been amazing these past 3 games but when we play the gauro we'll have a tough task against Pardo so itll be important to have Didac warmed up just in case. Also the vazelos right side on defense is trash so itll be important to take advantage of their weekness. Will be very interesting to see how that all unfolds. Truth of the matter is our rivals, especially the gauroi are upgraded since last season so we need to plug in the holes with quality.
  14. Even Porto has had more heat on them than Olympiako though and Olympiako dwarves their record. Goes to show you what type of corruption were talking about here. I guess Greece and Portugal have much more in common than a financial crisis. One of then being mr. Platini.
  15. Reaper, Juventus was known universally as a corrupt club, and to some extent they paid for their wrong doings. Im not talking about rivalries here or banter, im talking about a team where inside and outside their fanbase it is an accepted notion that the team is corrupt and so is the league as a whole. Were not talking about favoritism, were talking about blatant fixing and rigging. Also out of all the examples you cited give one example where the teams hold as dominant (on paper) of a record and where the team has loaned so many players to direct competition or an example of a team with so much evidence and even a court ruling against them, that has gone unpunished. Please dont give me this Cosmopolitan talk. I live in New York City and spend my summers living mostly in Athens. It doesnt get more cosmopolitan for a Greek. Trust me it is pretty much an accepted notion that the league and olympiako are corrupt even amongst Oly fans. Most fans just laugh it off because they dont take Greek soccer too seeiously to begin with, or because they benefit from pame stoixima.
  16. Also id like to add that this isnt a recent issue either nor a "last five years issue" Have a look at some Gianakopoulo, Gjorgevic, and Ivic plays from the late 90s- early 2000s and youll see a whole new meaning to the word blatant
  17. From the moment i saw the plays i knew Fortouni used his arm. Then on the replays you can see Durmaz used his arm too. Two observations based off of physics alone: 1. Theres no way the ball can roll off your chest to the right and then land straight down to your feet. Durmaz uses his arm and that way rather than roll off to the side the ball comes straight down to his feet. 2. There is no way the ball cancome that far to the right of a player, land there for a second, and once again come straight down to your foot. You can see in both the play and slow motion replay that the ball stays suspended in the air, coincidentally for the same amount of time his arm is elevated. Upon closer look from the refs angle, the ball pretty much lands on his arm. Greeks have a type of crooked mentality where even as you're being robbed in front of your eyes, the victim is at fault. No one says the same s%$#! about a single entity for 20 plus years in a row. I also dont want to hear the "every league has bad calls" line because there is no team in any major league that gets as blatant of a push as Olympiaco, followed by shady out of field activity, followed by strange betting activity, followed by such a ridiculous loaning policy, followed by EVIDENCE of corruption. Not even in Italy did teams get away with such blatant corruption and thats a country where almost a fifth of the countries money passes through the hands of the mafia. All you have to do is watch the game Olympiakos AEK from last year and the Asteras cup final and all your questions will be put to rest. Never has such blatant bias been shown in a professional league thats takes part in European competition regularly.
  18. THIS is what a jersey is supposed to look like. Since 2006 (one bad year of adidas and the rest puma) we have looked amateur on the field and now we look sharper than ever. Just look at the upgrade in our kit and then look at the pijamas PAO is sporting with puma. So glad we have Nike. Will be the first year in a while that i buy a kit again
  19. Buonanotte would be a HUGE signing. Can you imagine the quality of the squad with a Buananote, Mandalo, Vargas trio surrounded by the quality of Galo, Bakaki, hopefully Didak,Cordero and work horse players like Johanson and Simoes?! That would instantly elevate our forwards and hopefully players like Barbosa would get the motivation they need. Buenanotte would definitely elevate the quality of the squad though. The potential formations in themselves would be awesome to see
  20. Its depends man, I think Soiledi was an important part of the team during the period last year that we were performing really well and I cant be too harsh on him considering his form pretty much fell during a period when the entire team was in a slump. I think hes better suited to the LW possition as his defense is his weak spot. On his good days he was blowing passed people on the wing so i think he can offer more in that position with a more steady and experienced LB behind him.
  21. @ Dikefale, theoretically even if we make just one more signing in the LB position then that gives Soiledi the freedom to move up to LW in the event that Barbosa gets injured or underperforms. I personally like him in that position and in certain games he was lethal there. Id rather we see platella on the wing and Arava CF with Djebbour subbing in but Della will probably use your scheme. We also have Andreopoulo in DM who looked promising before his injury.
  22. As far as competition is concerned lets not get too confident. Its our first year back and PAOK is a better team than they were last year, and with a real coach this time. The gauro will surely be stronger and will probably make a bam signing before the end of the summer now that they are pocketting another 25 mil. Panathinaiko was unlucky in their CL qualifying matches and are a work horse team that will probably tire us the most.Nini also looks to be in form. Also Atromito is VERY dangerous this year, having a great team and making AIK look like scrubs. The Hraklh we faced last year has also made great additions to their squad and thei offense will be fire. Anyone who thinks this year will be a cake walk is sadly mistaken and in for a rude awakening. Anything can happen though so lets keep our heads low and take things as they come.
  23. Since day 1 AEK365 has been a site of overreactions and propaganda. Kosta Ketsetsoglou can take his sfinakia and put them in his ass.Lets look at thi.gs for what they are: You had a right side that depended solely on Bakaki and Georgia, and you now have Galo and a very bright young prospect in Vasilantonopoulo. The Galo signing solves a lot of problems as when Mpakaki gets back he can also start with Galo on the right. We also have enough CM's that with the return of Cordero Simoes can also play on the right. With the addition of Vargas you have the ability to add another player on the wing when mandalo gets back. In attack i personally am not too big a fan of Djebbour but if Arava's form picks up as we expect it to hopefully Djebbour and Chrisantus are not needed. As far as centre backs go we have Tzanetopoulo who i personally want to continue starting and improving. You have Lampropoulo as a back up, Svarna as a young prospect, and Arzo as the experienced player. In times of need Johanson also plays bos CB positions. So we are more or less oka in the back for the time being. The only positions we are truely suffering in, in regards to depth right now are LB and LW but I expect the team to make at least 2 new signings by the end of the transfer window. With some playing time for the team to gel together, some much needed returns in the roster and patience the team will perform and if not well be in a great place to make additions come December
  24. Im honestly glad we didn't sign havez for a few reasons and I'd also like to highlight this ridiculous AEK365 induced climate of bitching and whining all the time, about management, that is getting beyond tiring. 1. The mass media are a bunch of hype machines with no goal other than to get your clicks and a deal isn't final until its in writing and official from the pae. NO, aek365 posters, you dont sign first and then do iatrikes eksetashs you idiots. 2. This whole "pame gia protathlima" bullShit is just one huge hype storm that needs to subside asap in order for the team to continue in its upward path. Of course im a bit disappointed that Tigri's pockets seem to have crabs but the guy made it clear that his number one priorities are the stadium and making AEK self sufficient again. Gone are the days of getting goodjohnsens and players that put us in debt. The team just got back from the lower divisions and it important to build the team from the bottom rather than splurge and leave the team in ruins the next year. 3. Last but not least hafez looked like a great acquisition but a general rule of business is that muslims/arabs are the worst people to do business with. They're unreliable sneaky, cheap, liars who will sell you out for a penny. I'v learned this first hand as well and both Hafez and the team president are arabs/muslims. These unprofessional bazaar type antics first became evident when out of nowhere, AFTER agreeing with AEK they ask for an additional 400k in the event that we win the playoffs or something along those lines. Then, even though they agreed to a 50-50 3 year contract, they switch it up to a one year contract with an option that included no specifics, meaning after a year they would try to F*** you in the ass. The pae attempted to come to a clearer solution and possibly pay more for three years, for a clearer option, or for a controlling percentage of the player but like true gypsies they refused and packed their s%$#!, spreading lies about a loan deal. This player would of been a headache to own.
  25. I already love Nike!! How sharp are the jerseys our guys are wearing in Poland?!
