  1. Two completely different teams between the first and second half. This one hurts, especially after having a 2-0 lead. But if anyone had told us before the tournament that after the first round of playing every team once, we’d be sitting in first place in this group by 2 points, every single one of us would have taken it.

  2. Made the mistake of listening to that Hellas Footy podcast and had to turn it off when they decided collectively that we had to play like cowards (and the spastic-chipmunk-sounding-guy trash talking Thessaloniki didn't help, but I guess you can't expect miracles when a bunch of fans of Athens teams get together). Anyway. Bitterly disappointing here. We can hold our own against any f***ing team, which the first 60 or so minutes showed us today. When we revert to scared tactics, we get our assholes torn open. Big frigging shock.

  3. The full 3 points was almost too good to be true. Slightly disappointing of course but we are sitting in a great position by not losing to them. For me this is about securing Pot 1 and raising rank.

  4. The one I don't like. Dad vs Mom. And in my beloved Toumba on top of that. A draw will probably put out both of the contest for #1. So I will decide after looking at the table after the first two matchdays.

  5. First tie breaker is head to head points scored against each other. That’s means if we win this game we are on to the next round!

  6. 4 yrs ago or so we were celebrating beating the likes of Kosovo 3-0 in pot C. Of course I am grateful and exciting, but the dark cloud of terrible coaching is something that worries me. Look at the Portugals and Belgiums of the world. Bad coaching can undermined even the best golden generations. I don’t want guys like Kostoulas to get discouraged

  7. Impressive first half. We need to keep the same pace in 2nd half and don't give them a chance to come back.

  11. It’s like Masouras and Mantalos of old. He has his guys who I guess he thinks carry his mentality? Idk. But I’m telling yall his tactics are rudimentary. They will not take us far in a big tournament: it only worked against Germany bcuz Tziolakis and Mavropanos played out their minds against German newbies. Again most of the Dutch attack is hurt so of he comes out defensively again it may work. But when his contract is up we HAVE TO let him go for someone more creative. He is chasing an old Greek style that worked in our past because our strength was our defense. defend will all you have, counter, then maybe attack in the final few minutes. He is trying to employ that same tactic with the opposite player profile: do what we do worse for 70 min then do what we do best for 20. Some will say that how you should play against better teams to avoid the embarrassment that happened last euro qualifying but here’s the thing: these players are young, they need to suffer losses like that playing the way that will yield most potential. We all can agree this same team today would run circles around that Scottish team we lost to last year. Hopefully I’m wrong but we’ll see hopefully our talent outshines his tactics

  12. I’m glad Pavlidis and Jovanović spoke about having great performances away from home, beating big teams, only to come back to a sold-out stadium in Greece and put in a poor performance. That’s been an issue in the past, so hopefully after two huge wins over Serbia and Germany, they keep the same mentality and intensity tomorrow against the Netherlands. Time to bring that form home.
