I get where you guys are coming from but I still have nightmares from Holevas being skinned by Poland and the Czechs in 2012 and getting abused by Cuadrado in 2014. I understand why Skibbe doesn't fully trust him. Granted I don't think we really have anyone better at LB (a problem-position ever since Fyssas/Venetidis hung them up) so I think the coach is trying to experiment with him at LM while having Tzavellas in there as a stop-gap until someone better comes along..

He is not exactly a DM mid, but Samari has improved quite a bit at Benfica, and will be very important to this NT squad. It's too bad Maniati as not found himself a team this summer, because I don't see at this point what good DM option we have to pair Samari. Kourbeli I have always heard great things about but have not seen him play at all. Even though towards the end of his career everyone (including myself) bashed the crap out of him, Katsourani has left a big hole in that midfield.

If Cardozo gets any kind of decent service he should be terrorising every keeper in the league.

What is needed is a dominant DM, Karagounis style. Here's hoping either of Samaris, Petsos, Kourbelis or say, Siopis come through to something like what Kara offered.

Mitro was a different player out there. Period. He looks trimmed own too. Very confident in what he is doing, he held the ball up beautifully and was never a liability.
